  1. "if you're into American Idol this would be the time to change the channel" Jim Powell
  2. Check out his blog agin. There's another mention. Be sure to check out the comments too.
  3. I could see why people would think it's still somewhat cool if it's happening at some place like Camp Randall or any football stadium where the stands go all the way around and there's a sellout crowd. But at a ballpark like Miller Park and especially if it's at less than capacity, yeah I agree it is pretty lame.
  4. Yeah, cheating is probably too harsh a word.
  5. So they are power sliding the entire time? Yeah, exactly. I found it on the Wikipedia- "Snaking The execution of several consecutive mini-turbos, by drifting back and forth across a straightaway is a technique known as "snaking", but is officially called a "Mini-Turbo".[4][/sup] Snaking was originally known as performing "Straight-Stretch Mini-Turbos" in the Mario Kart 64 era. Some people claim snaking as cheating, but others say this is a "skill" that is practiced on Wi-fi A Nintendo of America official has personally described snaking as an intentional part of the game's design, considering that a similar technique could also be performed in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!."
  6. Not cheating in that sense but playing so you have a constant turbo boost (or whatever it's called) all the time and not just around corners. There's a term for it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'll have to check when I get home. All the gaming sites are blocked where I work.
  7. I've got the DS version which is a lot of fun also. I don't play online because people tend to cheat a lot.
  8. Right, and complete with the mock arm extended clapping thing and the (expletive) chant. It's all so tired.
  9. Without a doubt. I wouldn't think twice.
  10. I'd probably never leave the house. I'll still sit down and play Mario Kart Double Dash on my Gamecube for hours on end. I might have to go find myself a Wii.
  11. Yeah, I noticed that. Sweet. Must have been a slow news day as far as TV & radio criticism goes.
  12. Exactly. That was the situation last Monday when I was in the left field bleachers. 2-2 tie and the Brewers were up and I think it actually was the bottom of the 6th with a runner on. And some dingbat stumbles over with his eyes 3/4 shut and he's all "ALRIGHT WE'RE GONNA START THE WAVE! WOOOO! ONE....TWO....."And I'm thinking no, no we're not gonna start the wave. Sit down and shut up already.
  13. Alrighty, here it is. Tell all your friends. Up for auction, the fabulous Belling Bobblehead.
  14. Yep, that's it. You probably saw the whole thing. The actual film is only about 15 minutes long.
  15. One of the stars of the documentary Heavy Metal Parking Lot. You need to see it. I'll even lend you the DVD if you want. It's classic.
  16. Oh man, why didn't I think of that!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  17. I saw Butch at the Brewers game Saturday night. Luckily I wasn't sitting behind him.
  18. Actually they stopped calling it a sport a long time ago. What's the appeal of watching a soap opera. Or a reality show. Or a sitcom. Or a drama. Or a cartoon...
  19. I'm a big Bourdain fan also. I watched all of the previous season's shows. Another Travel Channel show that just ended that I enjoyed was called "Living With the Mek Tribe: the Adventures of Mark & Ollie." Anybody else catch it?
  20. So I signed up for Netflix and I'm watching movies again- "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey"- A documentary from '05. Really entertaining. The narrator really knows his stuff and he interviews such heavy hitters as Dio, Iommi, and Dickinson. My only complaint was that there wasn't more concert footage so we get a better idea of why people love the music so much. He also goes to Norway to explore the Norwegian black metal scene which was pretty fascinating. I believe disc two has an extended feature on the Norwegian scene but they mistakenly sent me another disc one in the disc two envelope so I didn't get to see it. And there's an interview with Mayhem at a festival in Germany which was comical but for the depraved subject that they're talking about. "Juno"- I really liked the dialogue and the acting. I didn't care for Cera's character though. Otherwise, I thought the casting was top notch. I've got a bunch of documentaries on top of my queue so I'll provide reviews for those who like that kind of thing.
  21. Off the top of my head this is what I'm currently DVRing. I actually don't watch that much TV. The races I usually fast forward through most of and I usually sit down and knock out all the other shows I have saved in one night. I'll admit to still being a big MTV junkie. No I'm not proud of it. American Idol ARCA Racing AWA Wrestling Bizarre Foods w/Andrew Zimmerman Formula One Racing Indy Car Racing Made NASCAR Racing South Park The Hills The Real World True Life
  22. I answered a trivia question on his show five or six years ago. It was nice that I didn't have to risk being berated by him in order to get it.
