  1. I checked on Cubs- Phillies and they have a thrown bat stuck in the net like in the Brewers-Jays game a couple of weeks ago.
  2. Pirates score 2 in bottom 10 to beat Cards 5-4.
  3. To be precise he was 8 PAs short coming into this game. The requirement is 3.1 PAs per game played by your team, so the required number goes up every game the Brewers play. Yelich could make that up in about 6 games if he played every day and got 4 or 5 PAs every day. If he rests a day it would take him a couple more days to get there.
  4. 🤢🤮
  5. You mean struggle like they did last night when they needed some pretty big breaks and gifts to squeeze out 4 runs against a pitcher with an ERA close to 6.00?
  6. Those things can be misleading when dealing with Coors. The ball might not carry that far in other parks.
  7. Thought last night that maybe Contreras was coming out of his funk, but the June version is back in full force tonight.
  8. I’m in a sour mood as it is, but does anyone else have a nails on chalkboard reaction to the way Levering always says “sweeeng and a miss”.
  9. He didn’t really smoke that first one. Looked like a soft line drive that he was jammed on.
  10. All 400 pounds of Bret Bielema singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame at Wrigley.
  11. Starting Kuechel is like giving the opponent a 5 run head start.
  12. I think after he crossed the plate Adames said something to Chourio about not telling him whether or not to slide.
  13. It very well could be. It wouldn’t be the first time a team gave a veteran a look and let him go quickly.
  14. I strongly disagree that you want to make Yelich a full time DH and demote Hoskins to a platoon role. I don't think the improvement in defense with Frelick in LF over Yelich justifies having his bat in the lineup every day. Plus, the Brewers need the flexibility to use the DH spot to give Contreras days off from catching occasionally. Even though he's been slumping lately, I think it's way too early to throw Hoskins onto the platoon scrap heap where he might just play once or twice a week. He's a veteran player who has shown that he can get hot. As my preferred lineup for one game against a RHP I would rather have Yelich in LF with Hoskins as DH and Bauers at 1B. Frelick can still play a few days a week to give others a break. In a given week I could see Yelich, Hoskins, and Contreras each being DH a couple of days or getting a full day off. One thing for absolutely sure is that there will be some more injuries (even if they are minor) that will open up spots for others to play.
  15. Even though it worked out last night i did not like the move last night. With Chourio hitting well, and possessing much more power potential than Frelick I would have let him hit. In a situation against a very tough righty where just putting the ball in play is important I might make that move, but not there.
  16. I wonder if some of the posters.who tagged this as an easy series against a bad team are seeing why some of us are wary about it We’ve seen this movie in this park before.
  17. This week is going to be the supreme test of the Brewers pitching depth.
  18. Maybe, maybe not. You never know if they pitch differently with a runner on first and one out as opposed to nobody on with 2 outs.
  19. I think he said “first knock as a Brewer”.
  20. The Rockies should fear Rob Zastrysny He’s sure to shut them down isn’ee.
