  1. Bring back, Domingo!
  2. Things are looking Grimm tonight ... can we go any Lauer?
  3. My biggest gripe with this team's offense this season is all the 2-strike takes for strike 3. Can't Haines teach these guys some bat control, choking up with 2 strikes and battling to stay alive and put the ball in play while sacrificing some big swings and/or hopes for walks? The overall philosophy of hitting with two strikes seems deeply flawed for this team. That would seem to be on the hitting coach ... right?
  4. 21 homers last year ... .253 average ... that is not falling off a cliff ... what Yelich has done this season so far is falling off a cliff. Considering that the guy you want him to replace had a .282 average last year, I’m not sure you’re helping your case. Well, actually I would like him to replace Gamel ... I will give Garcia some leash.
  5. .450 SLG % and .800 OPS for his career so far ... the Brewers could use a hitter with those stats on this year's team I'd say. Career numbers do not mean that is what you’re going to get, unfortunately. He’s really had one stellar season that helps inflate his career numbers a bit with a few solid ones before that. Then he fell off the cliff and hasn’t found his way back. He’s just not a very good hitter on top of being a lousy fielder. He’s just not good. 21 homers last year ... .253 average ... that is not falling off a cliff ... what Yelich has done this season so far is falling off a cliff.
  6. Yeah, flip him with Burnes or Peralta for sure.
  7. They remind him of himself especially Sogard. Arcia I couldn't care less about at this point but we really need to see what we have in Urias. My thought exactly about Counsell seeing himself in Sogard too much to remain neutral about him ... that is what it looks like, anyway. Go Brewers, anyway!
  8. Historically Arcia doesn’t hit, and the scouting report on Urias is he doesn’t hit in the majors either. A team starved for offense is going to go with the other middling bats who at least have a track record of doing something If true, trading Grisham for him is criminal.
  9. Domingo Santana ... I wish we had him ... 30 HR's, .280 plus average, gets walks, we trade him for a backup ... Santana is better than Garcia, IMHO. You should really look up his numbers. Hell, I wasn’t even sure he was on a big league team still. .450 SLG % and .800 OPS for his career so far ... the Brewers could use a hitter with those stats on this year's team I'd say.
  10. He plays L/R splits pretty religiously. I get it, but Sogard and Holt are NOT starters on a decent team. They are backups in my mind. The career stats pretty much prove it. Let's play Arcia -- he's actually hot. Let's see what Urias can do since you gave up Grisham for him ... he must have some talent ... let's see it and develop it.
  11. Good point and makes me feel better ... thank you.
  12. Counsell likes to play Holt and Sogard more than Arcia and Urias ... it's mind-boggling.
  13. Domingo Santana ... I wish we had him ... 30 HR's, .280 plus average, gets walks, we trade him for a backup ... Santana is better than Garcia, IMHO.
  14. 7 of 9 batters in the current Brewers lineup with a .200 average or lower.
  15. Ahhh ... leave Grisham alone! Hader is the blame for that game more than Grisham. He couldn't throw a slider for a strike.
  16. Hader is a more highly touted prospect than both but it became obvious he isn't a good closer and CC insisted. In a do or die game like this I don't know for the life of me why he had to pigeonhole him into that role. I can justify it over an entire season using him in the spot to get the most wins but there was no way in hell I would have used him like that tonight after the episode in Colorado, against the meat of the order in a 2-run game, as much as he's struggled to keep the ball in the park. Like I said, the result of Hader's appearance tonight was comically predictable, he should've entered that game in the 6th and his ass should have been on the bench with one guy on base. Something wasn't right for the last week and everyone could tell except the guy making the decisions. Great analysis!
  17. Back to the real world of true drama and problems ... baseball is fantasy land ... it's a game ... I'm sorry if I've offended. I turn to sports for diversion from all the pain and heartache of this life, sometimes. And when more pain is inflicted because of such inexcusable mismanagement in my opinion, it only adds to the pain of the real parts of life that matter. Silly me for turning to the Brewers or sports to soothe me, I guess! Good night!
  18. You really, really need to calm the heck down. You need to pipe up! This is the division! There's only two days left! Hype up! Settling for silly mediocrity and poor mismanagement is not my idea of owning pennant fever!
