Arcia appears afraid of the pitched ball ... does anyone besides me see him stepping away from the plate when he swings? He has his "foot in the bucket" almost always, it appears. Are my eyes deceiving me?
Well, I think a Brewers sweep along with the Cubs having a series against the tough A's and the Cardinals having a series against the tough Dodgers will help considerably. I am hoping that the A's and Dodgers continue their good run of very good baseball -- the A's just got done sweeping the Cardinals.
Misconceptions about Braun? You don’t say. How is he doing in games started, though, I wonder? He does do a fair-share of pinch-hitting. For instance, Braun has played in virtually the same number of games (one less) than Cain with 15 fewer walks at that ... and still has more than 80 less AB's than does Cain at the beginning of today.
Braun is right near the top in games played. Only yelich Grandal and Arcia have more. And only by a small amount. How is he doing in games started, though, I wonder? He does do a fair-share of pinch-hitting. For instance, Braun has played in virtually the same number of games (one less) than Cain with 15 fewer walks at that ... and still has more than 80 less AB's than does Cain at the beginning of today.
Bat Grisham 1. Bat Hiura 2. Bat Yelich 3. You can flip-flop 2 and 3 if you want ... everybody else ... whatever will be, will be. Moose and Braun logically at 4-5, though. Too bad Braun cannot play hardly more than a part-timer, anymore, though.
Good thing Counsell didn't pinch-hit for Hauser in the 5th after getting a one-out single from Shaw! We only have Braun, Hiura, Cain, Pina, etc. available for that today.
How did Shaw miss that ground ball? Completely whiffed on it ... to those who think Hiura needs a day off, which I disagree with, why don't we replace Hiura for a day with somebody who resembles a major-league player? That would not be Shaw. Shaw needs to stay off the major league roster or strictly be a replacement in blowouts.
Only the Brewers seemingly thought that for very strange reasons. They gave up on him because Yelich and Cain were producing and by big-contract-default were playing Braun. They royally mishandled Santana and undervalued him to play or to trade after a terrific 2017 season!
I think the primary problem with the team is hitting. We have not scored more than 5 runs in a game since July 23rd in a 14-6 loss to the Reds. Andy Haines? Shaw went way south this season. Aguilar went way south this season in more ways than one. Cain went way south this season. Arcia has dipped more this season ... he looks like he is afraid of getting hit all the time.
