  1. I imagine the team will feel that it's important that Yelich be around them as much as possible. I hope he is in that dugout with the guys as much as possible after they stabilize that knee.
  2. I hope Braun wears Yelich's jersey again today.
  3. Just imagining how this would look makes me laugh.
  4. I tell my neighbors down here who are Red Sox fans that we feel the same animus against the Cards as they do towards the Yankees.
  5. Is it bias or does it just reveal the voters lean towards the guy on the better team? Trout will win the AL MVP even tho his team isn't great this year but his season is so far superior to anyone else in that league. Had another AL guy put up numbers like he did on a winning team that player would win it instead of Trout.
  6. If you want to go down this road, we're 11-4 when Yelich doesn't play this year, 12-4 if you count the game he actually broke his kneecap. Is that sustainable over a full season? Probably not but you can't really use the where would the Brewers be without Yelich argument when the Brewers have a far better record without him than with him. You have a point but is 15 games enough to bolster your argument? *shrug* I just truly doubt we'd be where we are today without Yelich's outstanding offensive production for most of the season. The best news we got is he should recover and return to his good old self in the spring.
  7. Can you imagine the disappointment Rockies fans must be feeling this year after last?
  8. I say this every year, but it's so dumb that people think of it that way. MVP is just a fancy way of saying "best player in the league." Or, if you want to take "valuable" literally, think of it as "absolute value," not "relative value to team." I want Yelich to win the MVP, but it would be asinine to give him more credit because his teammates are crappier than Bellinger's. Crappier? I don't think anyone is saying that but a lot of folks would agree the Dodgers would still win that division without Bellinger but would we be in the position we are in now if we didn't have Yeli until the other evening?
  9. Bravo to the guys for gutting out these wins after Yeli went down! It says a lot about the makeup of this group for them to keep winning after such a gut punch. The Marlins aren't very good but they do have some hitters on that roster and it isn't easy to sweep a team in a 4 game series.
  10. I have a feeling the only way Yeli wins it is if the other top contenders go into long slumps.
  11. Go Rockies, Padres, Braves, and Twins!!! We now can be Marlins fans too after today.
  12. I'd prefer they play every remaining game on their schedule here, actually. Because...
  13. It's gonna be good to get out of Miami cuz that park like a morgue.
