  1. I was surprised they let Jungman back out in the 7th, after it was clear his command was a little off 37 Balls to 41 strikes, even though he worked out of a couple jams and pitched a decent first 3 Innings why not pinch hit for him in the top of the inning and let the pen seal the win. Heckathorn was getting hit fairly hard and they pulled the string at 3 IP so why not TJ on a fresh call-up day. But I don't think he was really rushed, he was scheduled to start in Montgomery for the Stars and that's not far from New Orleans. Suter with a tough go a day early of his schedule, if anyone was rushed I'd say it was him. ERA ballooned from sub 2.0 to a 2.70 #weneedlefties.
  2. I find it funny that so many people believe anyone would pull the trigger on Wang if we took him off the 25 man. No one else did back in November when they had the chance. The Pirates didn't protect him in the first place, what makes you think they want him at all. Why not take the lesser risk of throwing him out there right now? Who the hell is going to waste their 25th roster spot on him at this point in the season? NOBODY. That's who.
  3. Well I'm kind of biting my tongue today as he's caught two stealing, and picked off a third in the first game of a double header. That's some Sweetness.
  4. It's foolish to throw him out there in a 1-run game after saying the plan was to use him as mop up. Wang as a whole is a big, long-term gamble. However, tonights decision was a real time thing. That happens once or twice, oh well. That happens 6..7..8 times on the year.. Now you're talking about costing the team a trip to the post-season.
  5. I know, that's my point. If his catching was noteworthy he would play there a lot more often. I guess I should've threw those numbers or said it that way. My bad.
  6. 1. Jimmy Nelson - Could probably put up the same numbers as Garza right now. 2. Tyrone Taylor - Averages better than a hit a game at every level thus far. 3. Tyler Cravy - An anomaly, gotten better as he's moved up. Only WHIP better than his (.785) in AA Southern League is now in ML with 2-0 record(Chase Anderson). 4. Clint Coulter - Listed as a DH in an NL organization. Will he end up at first base or what? Does he really even want to catch? 5. Mitch Haniger - I think he needs some kind of spark. Big league spring training invite got him hyped then he kinda fell back in to AA, I expect him to turn it on down the stretch this year. 6. Taylor Jungmann - If he stays healthy, his ceiling should remain high. 7. Jason Rogers - Last years Brewers Milb player of the year. His average is currently higher than last years. Yet not on any ones list. Will be a utility man whole career probably. 8. Brent Suter - As you can see, I don't think these AA guys are to be taken lightly. They're dominating the southern league. 9. Hunter Morris - Could probably put up the same numbers, if not better, than Overbay if given the chance. 10. David Goforth - Like Cravy has steadily gotten better as he's moved up. Would like to see his stuff keep getting better if he's gonna have a shot at the 25-man in a few years. 11. Jedidiah Bradley - Who will move faster through the minors, Jed or Wang once his bitter pill is swallowed and he's sent down? 12. Michael Reed - More walks than hits. The ML roster should take notes. 13. Hobbs Johnson - 43K/7BB so far. Not the biggest guy, but he's a gamer. 14. Nick Ramirez - Seems like he's almost hit for the cycle each week this year but his average doesn't show it. 15. Adam Weisenburger - Patiently waiting to see if this is his break out year. Defensively he's a brick wall, and with an OBP of .457, I think we're all hoping the kid can be legit MLB stud in a few years or sooner. 16. Taylor Williams - Pretty good start to the year, think his body is still filling out. 17. David Denson - Still less than 100 games in to minor league career but OBP % .381 and a K/3AB needs some cleaning up. 18. Sean Zarragga - 34 hits in 88 at bats this year. Pretty old to be a prospect, I'll move him down if/when his numbers completely cool. 19. Tyler Wagner - 10 ER through 9 GS this year, that's nice. 20. Victor Roache - Needs to get his act together. 179K to 144 hits in his young career. With time hopefully he develops a keener eye.
