  1. With all the injuries, I'd say call up everyone healthy on the 40-man.
  2. He's only got 9 RBI's and counting today, in two games, but still. I honestly think JRog can play first base and have the same, if not better output than what we've been getting from there RIGHT NOW. Also, if Cravy comes back strong and is throwing how he was earlier this year, I say put him on the 40-man. From what I saw of him he has major league ready stuff, and our bull-pen can use all the help it can get.
  3. DAMN! I wanted to charge RR with my pitch-fork for pulling Garza.. not for putting Estrada back in the rotation.. Oh well.. WHERE'S MY PITCH FORK!?
  4. 1. Tyrone Taylor 2. Orlando Arcia 3. Clint Coulter 4. Tyler Wagner 5. Tyler Cravy 6. Taylor Williams 7. Taylor Jungmann 8. Devin Williams 9. Jed bradley 10. Jason Rogers 11. David Denson 12. Jorge Lopez 13. Hunter Morris 14. Nick Ramirez 15. Michael Ratteree 16. Brandon Diaz 17. Chris Macfarland 18. Michael Reed 19. Dustin Demuth 20. Wei-Chung Wang 21. Victor Roache 22. Shawn Zarraga 23. Gilbert Lara 24. David Goforth 25. Drew Gagnon
  5. Here what I saw happen in game, Garza pitching great, showed no signs of tweaking his oblique. Garza had a helmet on his head, and a bat in his hands, getting ready to go to the on-deck circle, but was called back, and pinch-hit for. Nothing gets mentioned of any kind of injury until post-game. Then the squid we call manager, says first that "Garza told him he didn't feel like he could go back out." Then when asked why he had a helmet and bat in his head, RR stutters, and says, "Oh he must've misheard what I said, I told him he was done." I say fire him now. It's really NOT that hard to manage baseball games, therefore, it wouldn't take much to replace this squid.
  6. MLB network reporting that Garza took himself out. I call [expletive deleted by moderator] on that. He may have tweaked something, but I highly doubt he took himself out. He's not the type to do that.
  7. Yea, find out who the hell has the adderall prescription, and knock it off!
  8. They get DET Milb SS Willy Adames too.
  9. So would you say you take the AFL pitching stats with a grain of sugar?
  10. I'm in the bay area, and most of my friends are die-hard A's fans. They are currently torn, because they feel Yoenis has single handedly won some games for the A's with his impeccable defense. However, they realize the impact this makes on the rotation, and they're all thirsty for a World Series appearance. All around very interesting trade for me. Love the trade deadline because of block-buster deals like this. Welp, see you in October Oakland!
  11. Via the AFL website: So I think we should try to guess at who we think will be the other organizations priority guys? And then decipher ours a little bit more.. As far as the two single-A guys, I wouldn't send either Wagner or Lopez. Both have had solid seasons but Wagner has dominated to a special degree, he might even get moved up still this year but he's done more than enough this year. Let him carry that high note through the off season and in to next year. Lopez could really use the off-time to be with his son, and Arizona would just distance him. Arcia on the other hand, while he has had a solid season, more at-bats against tougher pitching couldn't hurt. I'd even go as far to say make him a priority player. Oakland sent Addison Russell last year at the young age of 19. The other BC player I'd send is Bad to the bone Tyrone Taylor. He's been turning it on in the pitcher-friendly FSL, let him get a taste of what's to come. As for the higher ups, the elders.. Haniger and Cravy for sure. Not many guys go to the AFL twice, and had both these guys had healthy seasons I probably wouldn't be typing this, but, here we are, neither of them logging innings. Everybody wanting to see more. Nick Ramirez intrigues me. D'vo intrigues me. Zarraga confuses me. Andy Moye is getting kind of old but has been solid when not injured so maybe to make up for lost time like Haniger and Cravy? Rogers has played what has to seem like 34920234 straight days of baseball-(Went AFL, DWL, brief off-season, back to spring straining) give him an extended vacation lol. Of that ramble I'd probably go D'vo/Zarraga, so those two +Haniger,Cravy,Taylor,Arcia.. Seems like a nice contingent of future big league producers.
  12. Lol, it looks like the catcher had to say something while he was throwing the ball that pissed the batter off. I like the helmet throw-and-run. ridiculous.
  13. Most likely not, but one can hope.
  14. I agree with your first point, but I think managers ought to be considered. A great manager keeps the team morale and focus in check on top of the tactics that go in to winning games. A great manager has the potential to sway players decisions in where they want to play. Dan Le Batard sold his HOF vote. I don't get why he wouldn't just vote for those guys in the first place. But I bet he probably feels the same about the HOF as you.
  15. He didn't necessarily, I just figured a lot of the voters tied him to that whole group of guys so I threw his name in there.. even though he only missed the hall by two votes, and he'll probably get in. so I guess saying his name was a little unwarranted? I think some of the writers associate him with it which is unfair, but that's life?. That really has nothing to do with the question, but yea. Ryan Braun already blacklisted from HOF?
  16. This is nice for us, for one we didn't waste our time and money, and for two if the SFG manage to get in playoffs they're a potential match up..Jake Peavy loves to get thrashed in the playoffs. 23 ER in 22.1 IP lol Let's get Price and win a series.
  17. He says throw the Bags, Biggio, The Rocket, The Big Mac, Slammin' Sammy, and of course Barry, but with an asterisk in to the Hall. Voters still going to vote no, so it's not like it means anything, but my question is this: What if down the road someone like Braun, Melky Cabrera, or any other players that failed a test and were suspended, went on to have say, a 20-year career of all-star numbers, maybe won some championships, and essentially had a HOF worthy career?.. Are they blacklisted from the HOF already? There's no rules that say so, but if the writers aren't going to let the old users in, why would they let the younger ones? Granted, the younger ones didn't for as long as the old guys.. but still.. do you think it would be Ryan Braun HOF*, Ryan Braun HOF, or just Ryan Braun..guy who used to dominate for the brew crew. It's so far down the road and potentially not even going to matter, but it made me wonder.
  18. Buster Olney is to baseball analysis what Matthew Berry is to football analysis for ESPN. I'm sure many of you play fantasy football and know who I'm talking about.. he was never involved in football until he failed at being a stand-up comedian and decided to write about football. These are the types of guys ESPN has writing for them. At least the guy that came over from MTV doesn't try to act like he knows sports and just finds the sob stories.
  19. This is bad. Real bad. Want rule change? Talk about chips in the baseballs/bases/cleats/gloves so as to avoid any discrepancies in the game. Trying to eliminate the shift though? What a joke. If you're getting paid millions as a baseball player, and can't push bunt, maybe you don't deserve millions of dollars as a baseball player. end of story.
  20. I'm with you..kinda..I think.. Every team should always be looking for improvement in any way. Content is not going to fetch a better team, things will get stagnant, and first place leads will diminish quickly. The SF Giants gm Brian Sabean was quoted saying something like 'EVERYBODY ON OUR TEAM IS ON THE TRADING BLOCK'.. You know why? Cause he wants to win a 3rd world series in a half decade. You gonna argue the guy that brought in two world series rings that his ways aren't smart?...me either......... However, I'm a little confused at what you want to sell for. When you say sell, and in your post mention for some top prospects.. that wont help the ML club today, tomorrow, this year, and maybe not even next year. But then you kind of mention for ML guys too.. I'm not for trying to bolster the farm system so much as I am for getting something better for the ML team though. So, yea. Don't sell unless it's for sure going to give us a better chance to win now. But I guess at that point it's not selling, it's trading? So I guess I'm not really with you? maybe like, 22% with you?
  21. Yea what a sweet time to pitch, right after a starting team-mates infant child dies and every-ones morale is poo. Oh and while they're trying to cope, let's make sure it's against the division rival who's been catching fire, and hey, why not throw the rook against the second best pitcher in the NL, Adam Wainwright. Not to mention he's probably aware of the super2status and thinks he'll probably just get sent back down whether he does good or not. Yea, what a great situation to get thrown in to. However, don't get me wrong, Big Jim was leaving pitches up and that's pretty lame on his part. After shining so bright in the PCL it's just inexcusable to be serving balls belly-high for the major league st.louis cardinals. He could've easily won 13+ games this year, but not if he's getting thrown against the best pitchers in the league.
  22. WHat do you think are the odds they use Velez at 2b next year? He's by far the best hitter in aaa for average.
  23. I don't think Nelson should be included in any more prospects list. He's the best pitcher in the PCL and as soon as his super 2 status is clear, he will be in the bigs for good.
  24. I think we definitely saw a case of that with him only throwing 85 pitches yesterday. I think the crew is trying to keep him right in that sweet spot between keeping him stretched out so he can go deep in games, but not working him so much that he doesn't have gas in the tank come september and maybe october. Hope every one has Jimmy ready on their fantasy bench! he'll be up shortly.
