  1. But he's still going to work for the organization? I would've thought the Gibson firing would've came first.
  2. Whoa. Almost makes you wonder why he chose the grind of minor league baseball instead of a football or basketball career. Kid has got some unteachable talent.
  3. Actually, no. I don't think it matters a bit. Besides, if he's smiling, joking around, then people will say how can he be so happy when they're losing. He must not be a competitor. No offense, I just think you're trying too hard to compare MLB players to High School players. I grew up idolizing Nolan Ryan. Guess what? I don't remember him smiling before, during, or after a game. (You can insert about 100,000 players names in place of Ryan if you prefer.) Which is why I said, " No one seems excited or eager to play. Which if spread among an entire club, will bring it down." I didn't say every one needs to be smiling and joking around. But someone should look like they want to be there.
  4. I like to believe there's proper ways to press. There's a balance to pressing, where you expand both your effort and your focus equally. This isn't visible with the brew-crew. Maybe they're focusing too much on trying to be singularly responsible for winning, instead of just playing simple team baseball. Aram is a 6 foot 215 pounder who's 36 years old, nothing he does is going to look full of effort, and he's got 14 years service time, he should be taking it easy in between innings. But Scoot and jean are 24 year olds with their jobs on the line, I would've expected to see more pep in their step. No one seems excited or eager to play. Which if spread among an entire club, will bring it down. All I'm saying is team morale is way way down. maybe the September call-ups can provide some kind of spark. I need to see more smiles warming up before the game. That matters. Lucroy just looks like he's about to cry. All the time.
  5. I do. When the SF Giants were in town there was an instance where my love for Lucroy diminished rapidly in to disappointment. Lucroy was on first base, and for some reason attempted to steal second-base. Lucroy got a great jump, and should have been safe. However, SFG rookie 2nd baseman Joe Panick was covering the bag.. literally, he laid his left leg down in front of the entire base, with nowhere for Lucroy to even get to the base. What would you do in this scenario? If you were attempting to steal second, and the base was entirely covered by the opposing teams 2nd-Basemans leg? I would probably go the Ty Cobb route, since it's my right-of-way to the base.... But here's what Lucroy did: he pussy-footed. He had a perfect chance to steal second base, put himself in scoring position, and teach this rookie 2nd-baseman a lesson about blocking bases in the major leagues. But instead, he made sure to slide on the inside of the bag, CLOSER TO THE THROW FROM HOME, ensuring not only that he was for sure going to get tagged out, but what boils my blood, is that he made sure he didn't cause any harm to rookie Joe Panick. I understand, nobody WANTS to hurt anybody else. But this is still a contact sport dude. Anybody that takes foul-balls to the scrotum should know that. And in a similar scenario, what does Joe Panick do? He throws his whole body in to Jean Segura risking harm to himself and the opposition. Like you're supposed to do, as far as I'm concerned. I know Lucroy's a laid back, calm dude. I'm from northern California, I'm well acquainted with this demeanor. But there has to be some balance between laid-back and passion to win. And I'm not seeing any of the latter. My disappointment had subsided a bit after the Lucroy pussy-foot, the crew had maintained first place at that time, and there wasn't much I could argue against. However, when I went to the Peavy-Fiers game last Saturday in San Francisco to see our beloved Brewers, my disappointment multiplied. ten-fold. I counted 20-seconds TWICE after the brewers had made the 3rd out of an inning, before any players had stepped on the field and when they finally did, only a couple guys actually ran to their position. I was appalled. Playing through high-school and college ball I was always told HUSTLE ON AND OFF THE FIELD, LIKE THEY DO IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES. Was this the Major Leagues I paid $75 to see? What I saw that Saturday was a group of guys who were either A) Burnt out. B) Not hungry to win. or C) Just not passionate to play the game they're supposed to love. On a scale of 1 to 10 of effort put forth, 10 being trying their hardest, I would give them a 4 for what I saw live. They as a team looked sluggish and uninterested, and it's no surprise to me that they continue to lose. I wouldn't expect anything different in the near future, unless someone lights a fire under every brewers ass. But when your best player for the year is saying things like, "If we make it so be it, if we don't so be it" I don't expect them to make it, and if they do, I don't expect them to win. He ought to be saying things like, "We want to make it, we want to win." I don't think the Brewers are pressing, I think they're too careless, and I think they need to press.
  6. RHP Tyler Cravy - Would've should've could've been Southern League pitcher of the year, hell he maybe could've got called up to the bigs this year if he didn't get hurt. Unless the Brewers don't want him, I doubt they leave him unprotected. RHP Kyle Heckathorn - Kind of regressed this year. Could be a variety of factors. Hard to say whether or not the crew is going to add him, but I doubt anyone is willing to 25-man him. RHP Taylor Jungmann - Gotta add him to the 40. His time is coming, whether he's ready or not is gonna be interesting to see. RHP Eric Marzec - This guys been an interesting story since he got drafted 30th round '10.. remember when they gave him a couple appearances in AAA in 2011? His AAA sample size this year has been good so far. He just falls in to the same thing with Heckathorn for me though, in that I don't see any team in the Bigs willing to throw him on the 25 man. But you never know. C Adam Weisenburger - Harder to teach pure catching excellence than good hitting. Weisenburger is like a pure-bread golden-retriever..puppy.. You know it's a real special, smart, quality dog; Burger just needs to sharpen the bat, and with Lucroy ahead of him I think he'll have adequate time. I wouldn't doubt some desperate organization would be willing to 25-man him, therefore the Brewers can ill-afford to leave him unprotected. Current AA Players -- RHP Jacob Barnes - Doubtful 25-man interest. LHP Jed Bradley - A 6'4 lefty who's far ahead of Wang IMO. Probably not a good idea to leave him unprotected. OF Kentrail Davis - Doubtful 25-man interest. OF Josh Fellhauer - Doubtful 25-man interest. RHP Drew Gagnon - Was killing the southern league up until rather recently, if he would've went the whole year strong, maybe kept ERA under 3, they might feel the threat of someone willing to add him. But it's looking doubtful. RHP David Goforth - Depending on what the Crew is planning to do about the "closer" situation in Milwaukee. I don't exactly see anyone 25-manning Goforth, but I don't see us not adding him to the 40. RHP Greg Holle - Pretty solid year. Hard to say. But doubtful. RHP Casey Medlen - Doubtful 25-man interest. RHP Andy Moye - Doubtful 25-man interest. OF/IF Josh Prince - Doubtful 25-man interest. 1B Nick Ramirez - Doubtful 25-man interest. But if he has a good showing in the AFL anything can happen. SS Yadiel Rivera - Glove hasn't been too smooth in Huntsville. Doubtful 25-man interest. RHP Austin Ross - Doubtful 25-man interest. RHP Kevin Shackelford - Confused at this one last year cause I felt he was more of a thrower than a pitcher. Doubtful 25-man interest. 2B Nick Shaw - Doubtful 25-man interest. LHP Mike Strong - Doubtful 25-man interest. RHP Tommy Toledo - Doubtful 25-man interest. IF/OF Shea Vucinich - Doubtful 25-man interest. Everyone else has doubtful 25-man interest, but the Brewers with Wang have proven you never know *** a team will take interest in. Can't wait to see how it unfolds.
  7. Until we know who the PTBN are, it's hard to gauge whether this was really worth it. However, there's no arguing that it definitely improves the ML roster right now.
  8. I don't know if they've been up late partying or if it was cause the line-up was stinky poo, but the offense, and the team as a whole, looked real drab today. There was hardly any hustle. everyone looked either burnt out or not quite hungry to win. I was at the game and was severely disappointed with the offensive display. The light was a semi-issue early, but they dealt with it too.
  9. They better not **** the bed tomorrow night, I paid a lot of money for those Fiery tickets and I'll be wearing my brew crew colors.
  10. Another homer tonight for Rogers. Best wishes in his stint with Milwaukee, hopefully they get him some at-bat's and he stays on.
  11. The Zarg is back in AA Huntsville now, and not doing too hot. In the last 11 days his average has fell from .363 to .338. Was as high as .380 to start the month.
  12. Cravy with the loss in Arizona, despite giving up no earned runs.
  13. I don't think Cravy's injury was season ending, I have a feeling he's going to be back before the season ends; hopefully he can provide a playoff push for Nashville.
  14. Maybe if we weren't in a pennant race I'd say do it. But 105 pitches in 6 innings, only 55 for strikes, last outing for Tjung. Lack of control won't hold up as well in the majors. He's still got to prove he can throw strikes consistently in my book. If he could just walk 1 out of every 16+ batters instead of 1 out of 10 things would look a lot nicer.
  15. If he can get a little bit of control he could be an awesome addition to any major league roster. However, when you throw 105 pitches in 6 innings, and only 55 of them are strikes; it's hard to believe success will come at the major league level.
  16. New York to San Francisco is 6 hours non-stop. Around 4:20 from SF to MIL.. I don't think the it's going to affect the situation too much.
  17. Well the way i thought it usually works is you have to end up dominating on another team. then the team that drafted you realizes they under-rated you and then and only then, do they stop second-guessing you.
  18. I'm with you on this. He's been the most consistent hitter in Nashville all season. He deserves it. He's 32 years old, so he knows time is not his friend and knows he must perform. He's got a good eye, and he's fast.
  19. 1. NO MORE DH. Pitchers can learn to hit in the AL. 2. RAISE WAGES FOR MINOR LEAGUERS. This is a joke, a lot of them are getting under minimum-wage. 3. MINIMUM SALARY REQUIREMENT. Teams not going to the playoffs for 20+ years is stupid and bad for the sport, let's get some parity. 4. REINSTATE PETE ROSE. And apologize. 5. GO TO WORK ON ROBOTIC UMPIRING. With lasers and micro-chips and all that good stuff. Put em in the baseballs, the gloves, the cleats, the bases; there'd never be a dispute or discrepancy. There'd only be the right calls getting made.
  20. I don't see the brewers adding many, if any, of their minor leaguers to the 40-man roster.
  21. I say give Aramis some random time off in September and give Jason Rogers a chance to swing the bat in miller park. JRog was the minor league player of the year last year for the brew-crew, and after added to the 40-man roster, basically had to play through the winter with like a 2-week off-season only to get sent back to AA Huntsville to start the year. He's been an absolute stick in AAA since he got bumped up. Getting him some AB's in the bigs should do great things for his confidence, as well as give Aramis some time to remain fresh.
  22. He's currently at 938 Innings since the start of the 2011 season. I think he needs some time off.
  23. I don't really like Stanton. Something about his face annoys me. But if he continues to lead in HR, RBI, and total bases, through the end of the year, I have a hard time seeing anybody else deserving it over him. Maybe.. MAYBE Clayton Kershaw.
  24. 2011 he threw 251 innings +20.1 in the playoffs. 2012 he threw 238.1 innings +28.1 in the playoffs. 2013 he threw 218.1 innings +23 in the playoffs. That's 707.2 regular season innings, and 71.2 high pressure, high stress playoff innings in the last 3-years. Yea, I think his arm may be a little sore.
