  1. Freddy Peralta is so annoying to watch pitch. He is like the current Yovani Gallardo. Sometimes looks unhittable, can suddenly implode in the blink of an eye and look like total poo.
  2. He is already rich and still has tens of millions almost assured in the future whether he has horrible shoulder surgery or not. Brewers would offer him arbitration and make another $10mil next year. Then, regardless of results (barring injury), would probably make even more than that in 2025. Heck, if he was so concerned at that point he could probably still find a team willing to gamble a long term contract for over $10mil a year. His chances of getting a mega deal ever would be in jeopardy…but that is sure putting the cart before the horse.
  3. And yet he will hit it big in FA regardless.
  4. I’m guessing he will compete for Klesmit’s job…but I don’t think he will have much trouble starting over him.
  5. He started off fantastic...not so much the last week.
  6. He has a 26% K-rate on the year and a 50% K-rate in his last five games.
  7. Basically a shoe-in for a starting five spot and it is a local school. Probably why his preference was Wisconsin from the get-go. I would think his outlook on the roster looks even better after this year where he could hypothetically be a really major part of the team.
  8. Just trot guys out there and see what sticks. Kind of hard to make a plan when you have no idea who is going to produce and keep it up. I would argue Wiemer was the best looking rookie out of the gate with only two K's and three BB's through his first eight games. The tides have turned though and hasn't recorded a hit since and has eight K's along the way. Poor guy looks completely lost now. Mitchell won't keep it up either if he continues nightly multi-strikeout games.
  9. For some reason when a player gets paid a bunch of money they suddenly struggle running it out to first. Must have their contract in gold bars put into their back pockets.
  10. Contreras should probably chill with his frame holding. I don’t think he is going to win any brownie points with umpires holding his glove still for 5 seconds.
  11. You don't, they won't give you anything useful.
  12. What the Braves wanted why they did it was simple. Contreras and Murphy both looked good offensively, but Murphy also grades out as one of the best defensive catchers in the game. They want to win now while their core is going through their prime. They probably figured Murphy would be better for the pitching staff too. As good as his pitching framing seemingly is so far, Contreras made two little league errors in the same game (now 3 errors in 69 innings). Overthrowing 2B and catcher's interference. The front office gets a lot of credit for seemingly planning for some of these new rules the past few years, but I can't say a 14% caught stealing catcher was a good recipe for success with bigger bases. That isn't to say this move won't work out incredibly well for the Brewers...just why the Braves decided to sell high on Contreras.
  13. The main TV guy really fumbled talking about it. He made it seem like the guys foot was easily off the bag. Turn mention, heck, maybe even beat the throw anyway. The later is what ended up being much closer after review. He quickly made another blunder of a call says Chaffin “snagged the grounder” to end the inning. Even though it was a line drive he caught that never touched the ground. He is better at talking modern baseball than Rock/BA, however, I am glad I don’t have to listen to him on the radio and I can just see for myself how bad his descriptions of plays are.
  14. Welp, thanks for trying offense. Bullpen says no thanks.
  15. These announcers suck. They made that play seem like a complete joke of a call. Its clearly out and the right call.
  16. Scoring the first 6 innings is kinda overrated.
  17. How about a rolling it over to the right side?
  18. If you are going to hit like a pitcher, yes, you should get demoted. He shouldn’t get demoted tomorrow…but if he doesn’t start looking competent at the plate Tyrone Taylor is a better option when he is healthy. Hopefully he breaks out of his slump soon and can stay.
  19. Wiemer’s hitting will have him riding the bus at AAA pretty soon.
  20. Remember when he got accused of cheating way back when? I am more or less convinced a major part of his fall from grace is due to one or more types of cheating he no longer does. It doesn’t help he was buddy buddy with Braun, who also sprinted to sign a ‘team friendly’ extension before he found himself caught for cheating. More a conspiracy theory because it isn’t like there is a bunch of good evidence…I just don’t really believe him busting a knee made him go from Top 5 hitter in baseball to this. Just seems a lil fishy.
  21. It only took half a week to prove out, but this thread was incredibly premature. I don't know when Taylor is supposed to be back, but Joey Wiemer should definitely be sent down whenever that is the way things are going. Wiemer is 0-9 with 6 K's in his last three games. 3-20 if you want to expand that out. His ABs have been brutal to watch.
  22. It is finally here. The year we dominate to the deadline, go big at the deadline, and then confetti falls from the rafters in late October. Dodgers in the NLCS and then the Brewers spoil the Astros repeat bid in just five games.
  23. At least swing the bat. Good AB till he decided to sit the bat on his shoulder.
  24. That kid demolishes pitches at the top of the zone. Impressive he can still muscle one oppo too.
