Rodgers is already wildly rich. Not only that, but this dude could also find a job holding a mic for tens of millions anyway if he was hell bent on making money. He has talked about retirement. I think he would just go be a sidekick to Pat Mcafee on a podcast called 'hybusca' or whatever it is. Rodgers likes football and all, but it isn't his entire personality like it is to Brady. It doesn't matter though because the Jets know the Packers aren't going to hold out till Rodgers just retires. Could they? Sure, but we all know it isn't happening, so it really isn't much for leverage.

Balanced seems to fair better for a deep playoff run (rating fairly high in both)...if I was backed into a corner, I would prefer offense over defense. Ironically Furman was #7 in offense, Virginia was 6th in defense. I have heard people say their style (not just purely low offense/high defense) isn't great for March....but I won't even pretend to know that much about Virginia basketball to know the accuracy of that.

Mark Murphy's douchey comments days ago about the Rodgers situation make it seem like they honestly might ride this out pretty long to get something decent in return...maybe even to the point of forcing him to retire or come be Love's back-up. I doubt the later will happen...but I wouldn't put it at zero percent. End of the day I don't think they are willing to burn the bridge like what happened with Favre and deal with that. Rodger's is weird, but he doesn't steal money from the state, so he may be someone who comes back often post retirement etc.

Bringing him back was the correct and only answer. Might as well run it back another year. I will probably die (I am not that old) before we see a guy win the MVP two years in a row with deep playoff runs. The picks would have been better, but lets be honest, the future hinges on Love. If he isn't that good not much else is going to matter a ton.

Bennett would probably be way better for the regular season. His style of ball is definitely not March Madness friendly though.

I was punching the air. I did my bracket right away and picked it. Then two days ago went back and that was one of the only ones I changed. I usually only pick 3 or 4 10+ seeds to win...but I usually get half of them right at least. Even worse, I picked the 12 seed in that region to win so I obviously had UVA to the S16. That could get messy in my bracket real quick.

Yah, the Adames one is weird. I am not even an Adames fan, but I don't see any reason he would command $125mil-$150mil on a lengthy extension. Of course, he won't accept $92mil or even $150mil because he is delusional and talks like he is comparable to the elites of this past winter's FA class. We can't afford Burnes, Adames definitely doesn't seem like a reasonable guy at the bargaining table, and Woodruff...well who knows about him. Even Woodruff doesn't have much risk left. Even if he put together two very disappointing seasons the guy would still get well over $50mil in the most disastrous situation. That will be after already making over $30mil in arby years. -
Tony Bennett really knows how to choke in the tournament, 3/4 of his last four appearances are first round loses to #13/#13/#16 seeds. How that man managed a championship in the other appearance is amazing.

Except there is actually competition. Unlike most people who are lucky to have two cable options. Also...still over half the cost of cable, without a contract. Inflation is alive and healthy. Prices go up. This may make FuboTV a more attractive option over trying to juggle YouTubeTV+Bally though.

Brent Suter an #8 is absolutely criminal. I bet he could have upset a #2 seed in the right bracket as a #7 seed.

He did say it was fake. He said he was asked about certain players, namely former Packers and he vouched for them. That would infer he wasn't the one that brought them up first. Is that true? I don't know, that is probably the one thing yesterday that may have been twisted a bit because I doubt the Jets are going to go call out their new QB. I don't know if Rodgers will be as demanding as he was the last few years in Green Bay. I think a lot of that was the reality of the Packers being desperate with a guy coming off MVP seasons so Rodgers knew they would do whatever he wanted and Rodgers trying to overcompensate for all the years the Packers ignored him. Maybe it satisfied Rodgers in the moment, but in the grand scheme he probably has hated to FO the entire time.

I don’t think Rodgers was trying blame the Packers. He was just explaining it isn’t waiting on the fake wishlist reports and he is just waiting to get traded. He was just saying he can’t go anywhere until his current employers ships him off. Watching the podcast he didn’t really seemed bothered. Just that the Packers have yet to iron out what they find as a worthy return.

I mean, his explanation of events was pretty simple and straight forward. Packers said they wanted him back right after season ended (makes sense as that is what they told the media). A few weeks later the tone seemed to change (which media reports also reported the same way) and the Packers wanted him gone. Rodgers says alright, well I want to play for the Jets then. He then claims the Packers are the ones holding it up at this point, which quite a few reports said before he went on the podcast. He claims this would have gone down years ago had he not had back to back MVP years, which I’m not sure anyone is really going to deny. They probably didn’t draft love expecting MVP seasons coming up nor wanted to wait till his 4th year for him to start. I suppose it is possible Rodgers made a bunch of crazy demands to stay and that is why the tone changed…not just to Packers taking time and realizing they wanted to move on. Nothing really points to that though.

The fact people care about whether Rodgers was vaccinated or the fact he used weird wording to deflect the question is pretty weird. I find it somewhat ironic people are going to whine about Rodgers still talking about the Packers drafting Love and so many are still stuck/offended by him saying the word ‘immunized’. I just care that he is good at football. When they drafted Love I thought he still had plenty in the tank. However, while I think he has a few good years left, I don’t think it will be consistent like most QB that make it to his age. So with that, I am fine with them moving on. Rodgers gets to go play for a team with a better defense than he has had 90% of his career and we can look to the future as we just can’t build a great team in the short term anymore. I guess we will see what Love is all about. Hopefully he is the answer, but if not, hopefully we can unload the bandwagon fans that have become absolutely embarrassing and insufferable over the years. That would be the one positive to a rebuild and down years.

I mean there is not much rush. If the highest pick we are getting is a third rounder I would just twiddle my thumbs and wait. Maybe if the offer is this year's 2nd I might get a little nervous...but past that, meh, I can't see rushing to do the Jets any favors.

You know, I used to feel bad for Jordan Love. I have now realized the dude has made millions and since he is in his 4th year, unless he looks absolutely atrocious, his second prove it year will be the massive $20mil 5th year option. Considering that, this is almost perfect timing if he ends up not be a relevant starter. EDIT: Actually, don't they have to pick that up before this year starts? So he will make $20mil next year before proving anything on the field.

Rodgers is just one of those player treatment defenders, much like Corbin Burnes whining about his arby hearing. They aren't necessarily logical competitive points.
