  1. Yes, finishing ahead of 5 other teams is a tremendous accomplishment. In my opinion, there is only one team that wins a championship each year. Not 6. I think someone needs a nap. It's just my opinion and I'm certainly not the only person that has it. Winning the division is a great thing but mostly because it gives you a shot to win an actual championship.
  2. When you have a 2-0 lead and his next start is scheduled for game 5 ..you absolutely don't want to have to face him again.
  3. Yeah there is no reason to celebrate when you win the first division championship in almost 30 years Yes, finishing ahead of 5 other teams is a tremendous accomplishment. In my opinion, there is only one team that wins a championship each year. Not 6.
  4. If the Brewers make the post season next year, I really hope they don't celebrate like they have won the World Series again.
  5. ..and the D'backs will have the 21-4 Ian Kennedy on their side. They also won't be dealing with the pressure of trying to not choke a 2-0 lead away.
  6. That was a typo ...I knew someone would catch it before I could edit it!! Haha
  7. Hahahahahha. This helped my mood immensely. Thanks.I'm glad I could cheer you up. Now maybe Braun can cheer me up with a 2-run HR!
  8. Wolf isn't the only one to blame as the defense hasn't really been helping him any. If the pitcher didn't botch that ground ball, he would have been out of the inning already.
  9. Tonight, Yuni is batting .667. So, tonight, Yuni is playing well.
  10. You're going to get on McGehee for making an out in a 7-1 game after he hit a 2-run homer in his previous AB?Not to mention Yuni had two hits in the second inning...One of the luxuries that comes along with a 10 game lead is the ability to criticize and blame players even when they are playing well!
  11. Excellent! With the Cards down by 3 and pitted against Kershaw, the Brewers have a great shot to push the lead to 10 games. This Brewers season reminds me of the Packer playoff game in Atlanta!
  12. This is exactly what I am hoping for. Its effective, everything's already lined up and its cheap. If the Brewers are lucky, the production between Gamel/Green will come close to matching the production between Fielder/McGehee. Defensively, it would probably be an overall slight upgrade. IMO, there is no need to go out and sign someone to play 1B or 3B. Save that money and use it in an effort to extend Marcum and/or Greinke. The Brewers are a winner now and if they are going to stay a winner, they will need to rely on their farm system to deliver affordable MLB talent.
  13. I know Betancourt has been hot but how does he pop up like that on a 2-0 count in THIS situation?
  14. Molina should get 10 games for that stunt, IMO. He'll probably only get 3-5 though. At any rate, that was just uncalled for. What a lunatic.
  15. If the Brewers did in fact trade Green for a half of a season's worth of K-rod, then it was an awful trade. Had a closer been the missing piece for the Brewers that would have been one thing but to trade him for a setup man? Makes no sense to me. Doug Melvin needs to decide very quickly if this team is in fact going to go for it because if they do nothing before the deadline, they are in big trouble.
  16. I like how this draft is going so far. The minor league system is short on pitching and by the time these guys would work their way to the big leagues, Gallardo is the only sure thing to be around (barring injury). The last two years showed us just how important good pitching is.
  17. 3 rounds, 3 pitchers! I love it! We all know that you can never have too much pitching and when you do, its easy to trade. Does anyone know how signable Lopez is?
  18. Agreed. Carl Pavano is one of the most extreme examples of a player that pitches particularly well in contract years only to pitch terribly (if at all) after being paid. You'd think that, coupled with his age (35) would have made not signing him a no-brainer. He presented the type of risk that a team like the Brewers, who need to make every dollar count, should not be taking.
  19. So who's glad that we didnt' sign this guy? Once again, his performance appears to be tailing off now that he has been paid.
