  1. I am starting to see the Red Sox as a very viable partner for Lucroy. They sent Swihart down very quickly and Vasquez has never been known as a good hitter. Send: Lucroy Blazek (yes I think we will have to put some more value in) Receive: Swihart Devers Sam Travis Brian Johnson It's a haul for sure, but the Red Sox have a lot of depth in their system. Wouldn't mind a few more rookie level Stearns lotto tickets in there as well.
  2. Happy days are here! I recently relocated to Birmingham and will try to get some in person reports when the Shuckers come to town. Thanks to all who contribute here to these reports.
  3. Ditto. Cubs have to pay an in division premium as well. It's just how this stuff works Would take C Wilson Contreras - Like him long term as a solid mlb regular and helps hedge on Nottingham RHP - Dylan Cease SS - Gleybar Torres Yeah it's a ton but if your trading Lucroy to the cubs that is what you demand. guessing we would have to take Montero back, which is fine. He is an easy flip candidate if need be.
  4. I would love to see something along the lines of Smith and Cravy for Kepler, Gonsalves, Jermaine Palacios, and Lewin Diaz. I like a lot of what I read about Diaz. Definition of boom or bust. I like LH 1B though.
  5. Anyone else have that weird feeling that something is about to break. Just have this weird feeling that we are about to hear about a big trade...I have no clue why
  6. I would prefer if we went after Rymer Liariano instead. At least there is some upside there
  7. Heyman threw out Braun's name in connection to the Orioles. It was very likely in passing but it may be a fit. They are clearly trying to win now. They apparently made an offer to Cespedes and have some cash. Braun for Jomar Reyes (3B), Chris Lee (LHP), Jonah Heim (catcher, a lot of late season reports had him improving, and I am a sucker for switch hitting catchers), and Ryan McKenna (CF or 2B, plus athleticism and reportedly has a solid batting eye, raw)
  8. Dave Cameron on his latest fangraphs chat had this to say... "I have heard the ask on Lucroy is insane" Clearly Stearns is shooting for the moon.
  9. The other thread has gotten pretty long and unruly. Plus 2 of the 3 "available" have already been dealt. Mods can kills this if they feel it's repetitive. Wanted to post a couple ideas for Lucroy trades and see what everyone else thought. Brewers - Lucroy Nationals - Victor Robles (5 tool OF, I feel he will be a top 15 prospect by year end), Jackson Reetz (young catcher, has every tool and ok plate discipline with room to grow), Anderson Franco (3B, solid hit tool and big projectable frame), Osvaldo Abreu (impressive plate discipline, can handle SS and 2nd, plus speed) Brewers - Lucroy Rangers - Ryan Cordell (3B, Versitile athletic player.solid plate discipline, probably more solid regular than star but seems like a DS type of player), Luis Ortiz (SP, been discussed on here a lot, but big upside starting pitcher), Josh Morgan (SS/3B, quick athletic player, again solid plate discipline), Ti'Quan Forbes (3B but may be able to handle MI or CF, again very athletic player with huge upside) Brewers - Lucroy Angels - Of the teams with rumored interest I honestly couldn't come up with anything for the Angels I would be interested in I keep hoping someone steps up with a good offer for Lucroy this offseason. I think the right deal could push us along pretty quickly in our rebuild.
  10. I am fine with that. I will gladly eat that money to get value back. Our payroll projects to be low the next couple years. We should be able to handle the dead money
  11. Detroit is reportedly looking to acquire right handed power preferably in the OF. They can afford his contract. They are the type of win now team that may be willing to take a shot on him. Braun for Derek Hill (Speedy CF, few years off) Jairo Labourt (been a big fan of his for a while now, big LHP), Zach Shepard (3B with very good upside), Sandy Baez (projectable RHP) Gets us out of Braun and his contract. Opens up RF for Santana and adds more upside talent to the stacked system. With his contract I don't see us getting a premium prospect for Braun, so I figured 4 guys who have the tools to be comers as they progress was a better way to go
  12. That is a whole lot of dimes and nickels, I would rather have a few less of those and some more quarters
  13. With Aoki out I think the Giants could make sense to see if they are interested in Parra. He fits their type of player and would have a role when Pence, Aoki return. I would think a middling prospect would be enough.
  14. 2 lower rated guys with potential I would target are Drew Ward (3B for now, will be a 1B down the road). Potential 25HR guy and at a position we will likely need some help down the line. He profiles a lot like Denson. Also Jefry Rodriguez. Big projectable right handed pitcher. They both have a high bust probability but also have high ceilings. I would hope those are the types we are targeting.
  15. I would aim for Anthony Alford and Rowdy Tellez. Alford is reminiscent of Monte Harrison and I think would be a great get. He is 20, supposedly raw but having a very good year in low A. Rowdy Tellez would add some 1B prospect depth and is a strong OBP guy which I believe this organization needs more of.
  16. Gomez and K Rod for Hoffman, Anthony Alford, Smorel, Rowdy Tellez gets it done for me. I am a big fan of Alford's upside, he is a potential 5 tool guy. Not sure we can get all 4, but I would also be willing to toss in another bullpen arm to make it happen. I think we would only be able to get 1 of 3 from the Norris, Hoffman, Pentecost group. Most teams are going to very loathe to give up 2 of their top 5, even for a guy like Gomez.
