  1. Don't overlook Kansas City. The all star game is in KC next year and I'm sure they don't want to have a team that fields the worst record in baseball heading into the break. They desperately need pitching and have a ton of young prospects that would make a Marcum for prospect deal easier to swallow for them. I know a one year player isn't the type of guy they normally go for, but considering how badly they need pitching, how many prospects they have, and the fact that they'll likely get 2 comp picks for him if he leaves, I'd still be surprised but definitely not shocked if they wanted Marcum.
  2. They might not give him 5 years.
  3. I haven't heard Jimmy Rollins' name mentioned much on here. I read he wants a 5 year deal which may be a bit too much to ask for considering his age, but maybe get him on a 4 year deal a bit cheaper than you'd get Reyes?
  4. The Brewers definitely need to sell high this off season on Marcum and get the best available player for him. Could not agree with you more. Find someone who is desperate for pitching and give them a call.
  5. I have no idea if I am allowed to post a price over face,. but I have one in mind so if anyone is interested PM me and I'll let you know what it is. This does include a parking pass as well.
  6. Yeah the thing about signing Reyes is that you get to get rid of Bentancourt too. Not only does it save money, but it fills a HUGE hole in the system and gives us a few years to hopefully develop a shortstop. We have people that can replace Fielder at first but nobody who can replace Bentancourt (unless they're willing to resign Hairston and let him play SS every day which would be cool). A 1-2 punch of Reyes-Morgan would be killer.
  7. If you want to scalp, there are plenty of places you can go do that. This isn't the place for it. If you have extra tickets and you want hard core fans to use them, put them up here, get your money back and be happy that the ticket's getting used. If you're looking for profit, use another medium. This is why I don't post prices. I'm not saying he's wrong, but a lot of posters probably agree with him. And just like you don't want to offend people with an offer, neither do I with an asking price. Maybe for each game we could start a thread where everyone who is looking for tickets can say "I'm looking for x number of tickets and this is how much I'm willing to pay". Then whoever has tickets for sale can send you a message saying "I have x number of tickets and this is what I want for them" and that'll all be in private. If you want 2 tickets but only want to pay $75 dollars for them, and I have 2 tickets but want $200, I'll know not to bother PMing you because we are so far off. But if your price is $20 off of my price, maybe we can work something out. Follow me?
  8. I only have a 20 game pack and I got the same seats for every game.
  9. Prince has had a good run here and has certainly been a big part of the team. I appreciate what he's brought. He can certainly be emotional about leaving. However, let's all realize he's leaving on his own accord. He's not being forced out. IIRC Geoff Jenkins wanted to stay but the Brewers didn't have a spot for him. I just get annoyed when I hear athletes say they want to stay but that it's not up to them and the "we'll see what happens" type thing. Though in Prince's defense, I don't think he's ever actually said he wants to play in here after this season. Regardless of who Fielder's agent is, he works for Prince, not vice versa. If Prince wants to play in Milwaukee next season he will. If he wants to to maximize his value and go to the highest bidder he'll do that too. I don't judge him for doing either, but I will get annoyed if he makes his sound like it wasn't his decision. I'd love to see him play in Milwaukee again, but the Brewers I think have bigger priorities (i.e. Zach Greinke and Shaun Marcum). They need to maximize Greinke and Marcum's value, either through extensions or trades.
  10. Amy Williams need to be introduced to Brewerfan.net.
  11. I have 2 tickets in section 428 row 1 seats 8 and 9 (Terrace Box) for the NLCS that are for sale. Obviously game day depends on whether Philly or St Louis wins but I think what it will boil down to is that I will have tickets available for the first home game, which will be either Sunday or Wednesday. I will POSSIBLY have tickets for the second home game too. I have the tickets it's just a matter of whether or not I can go to the game. Anyway, if anyone is looking for tickets to the NLCS just shoot me a message with an offer. I'll have parking available too for the $15 face value price. Face value for the game tickets is $45 each.
  12. I'm sorry but I gotta ask. Does anyone know that girl who has been sitting right behind home plate in the first row for all three games at Miller Park? Today she is the one wearing the yellow top. Long brown hair. She is gorgeous! And she's scoring the games too. That's so hot. I tried to find some highlights of the games to point her out but so far no luck. Edit: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=25375156 If you pause the video at 5 seconds and look right above the word "com" in the "Brewers.com" on the Taco Bell sign. That's her...wearing the black shirt. I don't mean to be disrespectful to anyone who may know her but she is incredibly attractive.
  13. What the heck happened to Lucroy's plate discipline? He hacks worse than Bentancourt does.

  15. Yunieski Bentancourt should never play another game in a Milwaukee Brewers uniform every again! This is what I typed just now and I was waiting for him to make an out and then I was going to hit submit. He still shouldn't play in Milwaukee again.......after this season!

  17. Typical. Blown call leads to a run. Now is a lousy time to be missing calls.

  19. The only thing better than watching the Yankees lose in the post-season is seeing them panic and overpay every free agent they can get their hands on in the offseason.
  20. Isn't there a BFN rule about charging face value when selling tickets on here? Forgive me if I'm out of line here but I don't think saying "I have tickets make me an offer" breaks that rule. If so, people shouldn't come on here saying they need tickets because everyone knows you aren't going to find any for face value. I made a deal with a poster on here to sell some tickets for game 5 and quite honestly I probably could have gotten more money for them elsewhere but decided to take the first offer here because I thought it was fair for both of us.
  21. Baseball America is doing their annual top 20 prospects by league. I just wanted to mention that Tyler Thornburg was listed as the 14th best prospect in the Florida St League and Wily Peralta was listed as the 8th best prospect in the Southern League. http://www.baseballameric...spects/2011/2612437.html http://www.baseballameric...spects/2011/2612445.html I am a bit disappointed in Thornburg's ranking. I know it has no affect on how he actually performs, but having our 2nd best prospect rank so low in a league he is probably old for is very disheartening. The Southern league looked absolutely loaded with several players who were ranked ahead of Peralta actually making significant contributions to playoff teams (Matt Moore, Paul Goldschmidt) and a few others who were very highly thought of prospects so 8 seems like a good place for Peralta. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on these two or the rankings in general.
  22. Marcum for a prospect, major league ready shortstop makes all too much sense. I'm not sure who is available though. Some people brought up that guy from the White Sox, but anyone else? Bentancourt really needs to go.
  23. The fact is Gamel will turn 27 next year and he's not yet proven he's an everyday corner infielder in the big leagues He's never been given a chance though. It's not like he played for an extended period of time and just didn't cut it ala Kevin Barker. The Brewers really only have two positions they need to upgrade from the past season, third and shortstop. I think third base you have to give Taylor Green his shot. Milwaukee got to where it is now by building around their home grown players and then adding strategic pieces like Greinke and Marcum. They shouldn't move away from that formula. Unfortunately their farm system, especially position player wise, is bare bones right now, but there are still a few guys that could contribute. I think Green and Gamel are two of those guys. They may prove me wrong, but you gotta let them try. Shortstop is an issue that needs to be addressed. Bullpen will be too if Saito and Hawkins don't resign. I'm just hoping the Brewers can survive another few seasons until Melvin and Co. can bring in some impact bats into the system.
