The Pirates and Padres have looked like Boston offensively facing the pitching staff. Hopefully in the offseason they acquire a starter and Nelson comes back with no set backs. Just not good enough to sustain over a long season. Up 6-0 and Hader has to save the day (again) in the 6th.

Counsell just can’t catch a break with the pitching staff. I don’t remember the last time he’s had a comfortable lead to manage after the starter came out. They need 4 more runs at least.

Or if they lose tomorrow, that's a 3-3 homestand which is literally the definition of .500ish ball. Or you could add in the prior series...I was certainly considering more than this particularly homestand. One can look at any tiny sample size to prove or disprove a point. They are going to be 9-12 in August after tonight. .500ish ball I thought was being rather generous. The point is, they've been consistently mediocre for quite some time now and that has to change quickly if there is to be playoff baseball in Milwaukee. They’ve been below .500 since June 1st.

It’s Dan Jennings fault even though he inherited the runners and this great lineup we traded half our farm system for sucks.

If you are just waiting for the most opportune time to "rub it in" on fans who still have a glimmer of hope, you are accomplishing your mission. I’m sadly realistic. Not rubbing it in. Best team for half the year and lost lol .

Lol people thought it would end differently after Jeffress blown save. Pirates have scored 2 runs in last 20 games. This team has multiple leads at home. Season over.

Braun will do it here but this team still has severe problems compared to real contenders.

This is simply untrue. Frustrating game, I get it but boy... 4-0 lead vs Padres and pirates at home. Inexcusable. Pirates have done more offense today then last 10 days

Glad to see this new offense we traded half our prospects for has shown up. This team is done.

Counsell continuously having to make tough bullpen moves because the offense can never bail him out.

Despite going from 18 over to struggling in every game. Part of the reason my playoff fever has diminished is cause we may have to play Saint Louis and/or Chicago first two rounds. Nothing about that is exciting. I find it extremely exciting. I hope we get that opportunity. Nothing exciting about it at all. They were almost 10 games behind Milwaukee at one point. Fired the manager, traded Pham. Essentially gave up on the season. Brewers were ahead of them for 95% of the season and are now hoping to play them on the road in the wild card. Playing them in a one game playoff would destroy all nerves ten times more than playing a different NL team. Pressure would be 100% on the Brewers (see Jeffress comments after last series)

Pirates more hits tonight then last homestand.

Matchup w/ Jennings only makes sense if there’s men on base and a hit gives Reds lead. We all knew Jennings would only see one batter regardless of the result.. was he that worried Williams would give up HR? Even if scooter singles, Williams gets next matchup. Overmanaging again a nd another inexcusable loss courtesy of counsell over thinking.

This loss is worse than any blown save. Up 4-0 and lose to a team who’s season was over mid April. This team is about to lose back to back home series to two of the worst teams in the NL. They are done.

Jeffress and Josh and pray .... for the offense to put up an uncharacteristic 9 runs. Yup... not a recipe for success.
