It’s game one. Game one CAN tell alot about how the season may go or certain situations will go. With the excitement comment I was talking about this game, not the season. I also said I wasn't giving up.

Let's start this year exactly the same as last, except different closer. Let's also continue to find ways to lose, like we did throughout the season. This is hard to watch, excitement diminishing...not giving up but jeez...really..

Haha, they won't average 7, but I think this offense is gonna be really fun to watch. We are never going to be out of games...well I should wait and see how the rotation and bullpen pitch before I say that. But you know what I mean I want to have an offense kinda like last year, where we score early and often. I believe we led the league in runs scored in the first inning?

That's a dime a dozen around here and hardly makes you unique. The very fact that you're posting on a message board means you probably like to discuss the way a team is assembled. Mere passion doesn't mean you know any more than anyone else here. Which brings me to this.. If you think Alex Cobb at the deal he just got is some huge missed opportunity, an occurrence so rare it needed to be pounced on, then I'll just say that you're not making a strong case to quit your day job. My goodness, since when did Alex Cobb become such a field-tilting talent? And how is Matt Arnold not aware of such greatness having a front row seat to Cobb's development in Tampa? Who would've thunk someone would be willing to make Alex Cobb's 2018 free agency the hill they choose to die on? Yeesh I think the reason so many are irked, are not because Cobb is great, because he isn't, but because this was the last guy out there. There is a finality to Cobb's signing. This is it. Now all the hope about adding a starter is gone atm. People finally realize that we are not adding anybody. They didn't wanna believe DS, when he said he was happy with the rotation going in. Now they have no choice but to believe him and in him. Maybe some of these people are just pessimists in life, I for one am going to be an optimist going into this year...which is never the case for me. I believe in DS

I don't like Villar leading off for that reason alone. I like this lineup, I just wish we could bat Cain 2nd or 3rd. If Cain is going to make an out with men on base it more then likely will be a productive out. When you lead off an out is an out. The only time he will have men on is when the bottom of the order and pitcher are doing something. I'd like to utilize all of Cain's potential. How many times did we see a leadoff single or double go to waste last year? I almost prefer this line up 1. OF Yelich 2. 1B Braun 3. OF Cain 4. 3B Shaw 5. OF Santana 6. SS Arcia 7. C Pina 8. 2B Perez/ Villar Just my opinion. If Arcia continues were he left off last year I like him at 6. As long as he keeps his strikeouts down, we don't need back to back huge strikeout potential guys. (Santana and Arcia) I do think this is a top 10 offense on paper and gauging what they will do this year based on their careers and last year. Hopefully they all perform up to their beliefs in themselves. This could be close to a top 5 offense. I LOVE our starting lineup. Just hope Craig utilizes them to their maximum capabilities. We have a pretty decent bench too. Depth and skill wise.

I wanted Cobb. Disappointed we didn't get him. Not gonna lie, but I love our offense. If Anderson and Davies replicate last year, I love our top 3, with Chacin. If Anderson or Davies or both, is bad this year adding Cobb wouldn't have mattered much. I just the hope guys that win spots 4 and 5 either perform well or are terrible. No gray area. Just be great to ok, or be terrible so we can move to the next guy....

I'm not interested in the politics of a player. I'm interested in what he does on the field and in the clubhouse. We are in the minority I guess bud, or so it feels..anyways this thread is a cancer to me, no escape from this crap anywhere.

Real disruption to a team that almost won a world series...and had a 20+ game winning streak.. I hope the Brewers can get that kinda disruption

And MAYBE he wouldn't. Glad to know, you know more about how someone you never met should train OR live. Just a hunch, but the person that knows Bauer best is Bauer.

Anyways we seen both sides of Bauer last year in the playoffs, if you figure he is somewhere in the middle that's pretty good.
