  1. How are you going to spend your October? Cheering on the Cubs I hope!
  2. Good thing is we don't have to face Davis. If we were ever going to do it, it's now.
  3. How exactly did LaStella kill us? We freaking walked him.
  4. I feel like you ask this same question every time a game is close. This coming from the guy who said we may as well close down the boards if we don't win last night. lol
  5. I feel like you ask this same question every time a game is close.
  6. Does anyone else agree that we just look like a better team than the Cubs?
  7. Yup! Everyone please don't discuss the Central anymore. It's over.
  8. This is 100% must win. If Brewers lose, let's close down the board for the rest of the season.
  9. This is the Brewers second half. Get guys on and then K, K, K. I generally hate the pressing excuse as to why guys aren't driving runners in but it's pretty obvious Braun, Shaw, and to a lesser extent Santana are. Both Braun and Shaw go up there swinging at anything close to the plate nowadays, very out of character. Okay at the same time, the pitching from the Brewers has been out of this world. It goes without saying that if the Brewers were also scoring at will, they'd be one of the top 3 teams in baseball. Obviously we'd all like to see that but it's simply not realistic to expect that or achieve it.
  10. Not necessarily. Maybe Arrieta gets rocked since it's his first game back from injury.
  11. At least the Rockies have been losing lately. The last WC spot is probably our best bet right now.
  12. True but good teams like the Dodgers and Nationals basically laid down for us as well.
  13. Nah, just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
  14. Is it just me or are many of the teams we are playing laying down for us? I get the feeling that almost everyone wants us in the playoffs instead of the Cubs.
  15. And how are we going to beat the Cubs in 2018 if we couldn't beat them in 2017 when they had a down year?
  16. Help is always nice but the best teams tend to win at the end of the year when they need to. It might just be the case that we aren't one of the best teams this season.
  17. And I'm glad he did. Why? Braun isn't a special player anymore, and that trade would have both made us better and reduced payroll. Agreed. Puig is no saint off the field but who gives a damn if he's helping the team.
  18. Uh, we are 1-0 the last time I checked in these games. Not sure what 1-0 means.
  19. Unlikely. Unlike last time, the Cubs have the pitching edge in the 4 game series coming up. Oh, well I guess I won't watch those ones then. Brewers have no chance. Not saying they don't have a chance. Just saying expecting to take 3 or sweep is highly unrealistic. These are the games we need to be winning and we're not. We got a gift by getting these games at home and we're not taking advantage of it.
  20. We play them four times...we can easily catch them. We just swept them at Wrigley. I understand they didn't have their best starters going, but we played them well each time. Winning 3/4 wouldn't be that hard to imagine. Unlikely. Unlike last time, the Cubs have the pitching edge in the 4 game series coming up.
  21. Can't wait for some posters to start posting about how he sucks and "to get the bum out of there." He doesn't suck, he was due for one of these, but we arent in a position with a very small handful of games left where we afford to just ride it out with him today if he doesn't have it. We can't burn our BP this early with Woodruff going tomorrow. Not to mention we don't have a single day off next week. We just have to ride Davies out and hope he doesn't get hit up anymore but if it becomes a throwaway, then so be it. We'll have to try and get it back somehow.
