  1. What gaping hole? I think you need to reevaluate your opinion of the catcher position, new guy.
  2. Cain is not going anywhere. This is a pretty nice outfield we have now.
  3. Jared Cook also released. Boy I wish we had never cut him. Golden Tate released too. There's going to be a slew of nice players available this year. Just so anybody doesn't get confused, I'm not advocating for picking up a tight end. Just listing some interesting names that will be on the market.

  6. Kyle Rudolph released by the Vikings.
  7. OK, I thought Watt was more interested in winning a championship than money. I'll take the L on this one.
  8. RIP to Irv Cross, who was a fixture on the old NFL Today on CBS during the 70s and 80s alongside Brent Musburger, Phyllis George and Jimmy the Greek. Still the gold standard among NFL pregame shows. Also had a nice NFL career.
  9. Here's a rule of thumb. Ask yourself "Is this player a surefire first ballot Hall of Famer?" If the answer is yes, sign him. Those types of players just don't fall off a cliff at age 32. Now if you are concerned about his injury history that's a valid concern, but the age thing is overblown. He can still ball.
  10. I always enjoyed McGinn's articles that focus mostly on what scouts said about players, the player division rankings, the # of blue players, etc...basically when he relays what experts have to say. When he goes with his own opinions, they're often just bad takes. The one that stands out the most was the "the Packers are a 10 win team without Aaron Rodgers," in an article that was meant to praise Thompson. He went down the next week, they struggled with the likes of Senaca Wallace and finally Matt Flynn "saved" them and we understood what it was like to be a Bears fan for half a season. I remember that too. That opinion belongs in the Hot Take Hall of Fame.
  11. We're in an era where if you're a first round draft pick you're most certainly going to be the starter from the get go. Not having a training camp doesn't really fly with me either. You know the old saying, toward the end of the season, you're not a rookie anymore.
  12. Considering the team's record when Rodgers doesn't play and Jordan Love is next in line, I think it's a fair assumption. Jordan Love is an absolute blank slate. No one knows what he's going to do. If you claim to know how good of an NFL QB he's going to be, you're lying. Excuse me if I'm skeptical about a quarterback that led the nation in interceptions and couldn't crack second string despite being a first round pick that Gute traded up for.

  14. Would Adams even want to come back if Rodgers is gone after next season? I wouldn't.
  15. It will always be Miller Park to me.
  16. Exactly. The main argument is he didn't play long enough. I say seven years is plenty of time to prove yourself. The voters act like he was just some flash in the pan.
  17. Watt is at the point of his career (the back 9 if you will) where winning a Super Bowl is more important than money. He got paid a bunch in Houston and they never really got close to a championship. I could easily see him taking a hometown discount to play here. It's just the king of guy he is. If it's not that important to him, then he goes to Pittsburgh. That organization is a hot mess right now that's about to fall on hard times they haven't seen since the 80s.
  18. Super Bowl rating their lowest in 14 years although streaming was up big from last year, but still pretty shoddy ratings overall. [sarcasm]Can't figure out why people didn't want to see Brady again.[/sarcasm]
  19. The Super Bowl MVP award has basically been rendered meaningless because of this. I bet I could find at least 10 instances where the winning quarterback that won the award didn't deserve to win it if I cared to do the research. Just off the top of my head Peyton didn't deserve his and Eli didn't deserve his first one.
  20. Aren't clickbait articles pretty much the norm now instead of actual news?
  21. Peterson has really slid over the past couple of seasons, but he'd be an interesting guy to kick the tires on. Fixed it for you... Thank you. Anyway, I think Peterson still has plenty of gas in the tank. People said the same thing about Woodson too.
  22. The Cardinals are parting with Patrick Peterson. I would love him to be this decade's Charles Woodson for us and have two shutdown corners, much like Mike Haynes and Lester Hayes combo for the Raiders back in the 80s. If Gute is going to go for it next season I would love for this to happen, but he'll probably keep going with build for 2024.
  23. he didn't say that. he said they'd beat the Chiefs. I wasn't referring to Harvey. Just posters in general.
