A few minutes later, both parties agreed to terms on a $2.975 million Minor League deal, with more than $800,000 up front as a signing bonus. (MLB.com) FYI, Colby, you were pretty close on your Zimmerman figure, not sure if the Nats would be on the hook for the entire amount if the guy doesn't pan out. Signing bonus seemed kind of small. GO BREW

Zimmerman has signed with the Nats, can Braun be far behind, he should receive slot money, correct????

Can't a guy learn to be a better fielder, when you have that much athleticism you should be able to learn the position. Let's not give up on the guy at 3b, at least let him make a few errors first http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm all for taking a college player, at least we won't have to wait 4-5 years to see him, Braun should be up in 2-3 years, tops or he'll be out of the organization. Go BREW!!!! (Let's nail that 3rd rounder)

The Brew is making a HUGE mistake if they don't take Hochevar or Pelfrey. Colby, if you can project these guys to make the big club it should be a no-brainer as opposed to taking a "toolsey" OF. It's too difficult to find starting pitching and we have prospects at almost every position besides 3b & C. Fill those needs later in the draft, PLEASE!!!!!!

My god what is Yost doing leaving jdlr in against Kent. I give up!!!!!!!!
  6. KCBrewerfan34
What the hell was Yost doing?????? Glover stinks, he's was lucky to get through 2 innings, man I hope GG gets DFA, he flat out stinks!!!!!!

Colby, Couldn't you live w/ that bonus???? The Brew just got their revenue sharing & JW would at least reach the majors within 2 years or so.
  8. KCBrewerfan34
Would the guy really risk sitting out another year?????? the guy isn't a HS. Thus, he should not have as much leverage!!!!!

If Jered Weaver is not signed by LAA would the Brewers draft him??? With our new owner willing to spend some money & I think the Brewers just got their revenue sharing check (what $30 million??????) I think he would be a GREAT pick. I know I know the Boras angle but I don't think Weaver would sit out another year. Thoughts????

I found on the SCOUT.com a senior writer for the Oakland A's predicts the Brew will take Cameron Maybin (HS CF) 6"4 200 lbs. He says the Brewers will be delighted if he's available at 5. His top 5 -------------- Justin Upton (suprise suprise) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Alex Gordon Jeff Clement Luke Hochevar Cameron Maybin (BREW) Any thoughts
