  1. I would love a Hall or Capuano for Crawford trade. We have lost the way we have played for years. Put Weeks and Crawford up top and this team would score some runs and those 2 guys on the basepaths would be fun to watch. Let's say its Hall. Weeks Crawford Jenkins (UGH) Fielder Koskie Hart Estrada Hardy Couldn't we live with that lineup and starting staff?
  2. Why should we care, I thought Carlos Lee isn't very good???
  3. Hammer I would agree he's an outstanding prospect, problem is those guys, especially pitchers are going to be pretty expensive http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  4. People can ask for whatever they want for players, that's not however, their value, you asked the question about Braun and I responded. I'm pretty sure Melvin would hang up on the Braves GM if that offer was extended. Thye can't keep Salty forever, 5 yr minor leage FA? thats probably when the guy gets moved and it probably won't be for alot.
  5. Colby I totally respect your opinion but Salty is probably thee most overrated prospect in all of the minoirs. He struggled big time last year, I believe playing at AA. That jump can be huge and sometimes it weeds out the pretenders. Braun for Salty?? that's a joke right?
  6. There is zero chance Matt Wise fresh off a nerve replacement surgery can fetch Sanchez.
  7. If a GM out there gives him a 5 yr deal the owner should immediately ask for that GM's resignation, I don't care if the team can afford it or not. Colby this isn't the first time a player made a bad decision! Didn't something like this happen to Loretta a couple of years ago and he had to settle for a 1 yr deal? Not sure if its the same scenario. I'm on record, Drew made a mistake (or Boras)!
  8. What is Drew thinking leaving $33 million on the table? I can't wait to see how this plays out. He's not worth that kind of money IMO, mainly because of all the injuries.
  9. You do this deal in a second, it would save the Brew what 3-5 million.
  10. I predict Bonds will be going to the land of the DH, my bet whichever California team offers the most.
  11. Great post by MNBrew. My "over the top" comment about losses basically meant please don't bring back that OF, The offense most likely would really struggle. Hart needs to play, and he deserves to. You can't win enough games 2-1 & 3-2 with our staff and the offense as it currently stands. Also, MANY posters only want to deal in hard facts, this is a message board under the trade forum, conjecture is part of the business & fun.
  12. Molitor if you don't like the truth, or my posts do everyone a favor and don't reply. I simply stated we bring that OF back we'll lose 90 games, am I wrong?
  13. Why don't we just keep Mench, Clark and Jenkins this year, don't sign any FA's and lose 90 games again, seems par for the course.
  14. I would love to have Adam Dunn, BUT 1) Would not give up a big prospect package for a 1 year guy. 2) As I recall Dunn has stated he does not like to hit in Milwaukee, something about the backdrop (anyone else confirm this?). Not sure if that means a long term deal would be out of the question. 3) He's not a very good OF
  15. Absolutely positively NO WAY to Gallardo and Capuano. As tough as pitching is to acquire, TB should run w/ the Capunao offer, I would doubt any other team would dangle a cheap, young leftie for Crawford. Just my humble opinion.
  16. Sign me up, there is no doubt this would make the Brew better.
  17. You have to ask yourself, can the Brewers replace Capuano? Gallardo goes into the rotation and Crawford is a HUGE upgrade over any of our OF'ers. This team needs some pop (and speed) otherwise we are going to lose a lot of games next year 2-1 or worse if our bullpen gets involved. I don't envy Melvin's job this off-season, he has his hands full. Not to mention almost $11 million in "dead" money in our OF, UGH!!
  18. Mother it takes 2 to argue. While your appreciation for GJ's service with the Brewers has been duly noted their is another side to the GJ quandary. If ANYONE can bring up 1 good reason why GJ deserves to be back I certainly would be open to the thought, from reading your recent posts I can't say the same for you, in regard to openmindness. I'll just take Straw's advice and ignore your posts and if you do the same with mine maybe this place will be better off. Have a great day mother, GO BREW
  19. You two guys are incredible, first of all a guy with 600+ posts on this board is not a troll, I'm just a fan who's not in love w/ GJ & I place alot of the blame this year on him, far from a troll, maybe stop drinking the kool-aid mother and you could be a little more objective. Straw, again I say why do we need moderators if "great" posters like yourself are going to police the board. Stick to giving your expert opinion and great insight and let the moderators moderate. The original poster still has not objected to my post, it was a figure of speech, for god sakes!!!
  20. Bill Scott, Thank you for the re-packaging comment. In no way was I taking a shot at the original poster, if it was taken that way I apologize although the original poster didn't comment, Straw and some others felt it necessary to rise to his defense?. In the email world stop can be miscrued, like "stop it" which is a common saying when conversing, I'm not a moderator so I would hope another poster would not take that to mean cease posting. Although Bill, a number of folks on this board should take a step back and relax just a bit. However, I understand 20+ years of frustration may be taking its toll http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Plus Jenkins didn't have that incredible last 2 months that many were hoping for http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Add all that up and you have a ticking time bomb apparently, amongst a few http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Before you guys go crazy please take this as tongue in cheek stuff, I want to the Brewers to win as much as the next fan. I can't wait to see what Melvin does this off-season. Bill just a thought, things may run smoother throughout the board if other posters didn't feel the need to try and police (straw, mothership and others) eventhough they're NOT moderators, just some friendly feedback.
  21. Wallus, I have a total of 628 posts on this site so the simple answer to your question is NO and I don't post on every thread? Checkout some of the folks on here with 7000+ posts, Thank you for your concern GO BRew
  22. Team Canada, There have been what 10+ threads about Manny this year coming to Milwaukee, it's getting somewhat old (and totally unrealistic considering his salary), I didn't attack the poster who posted I just presented a more likely alternative. Again, I know the Brewers had a bad year, Jenkins had a bad year (much to the chagrine of the masses) and now some coaches have been fired. No reason to have such a short fuse. My post did not deserve nor warrant ANY of the responses I received (including yours)!!
  23. Maybe we should start the Johan Santana, Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard threads are coming to MIlwaukee threads because its fun to speak hypothetical, LOL Give me a break
  24. Straw, Really, my post added nothing to the conversation, giving my opinion that MAN Ram would never come to MIlwaukee and then offering a REAL alternative in regard to Crawford and what he could add to the offense (see Crawford thread) adds nothing?? Straw, not only were you wrong in your assessment in regard to my post a moderator quickly posted it's OK to give a different opinion, than let's say yours. You don't have to apologize Straw, maybe just relax a bit, I know the Brewers had a bad season and all but your attack of my harmless post was pretty much uncalled for. Go out for happy hour and a have few beers and take a few deep breaths, GEEZ!!! GO BREW!!!
  25. Colby, I woulld never flame you, I totally respect the work you do on this board and you are not an over the top pie in the sky type of fan (or poster). I am a big fan of the minor leagues (fantasy purposes) and very much enjoy perusing your stuff, keep up the great work. That being said if its not Capuano I don't know (besides Gallardo) what you could do to get this dela done. What about Hall and Hendrickson or Eveland FOR Crawford. I would do this in a heartbeat.
