  1. John Means no-hits the Mariners with 12 strikeouts, and he was oh so close to a perfect game: the only baserunner to reach did so on a strikeout that got away from the catcher.
  2. Wow, ok not sure that type of response what needed... But thanks. Not sure how I'm supposed to know that since injuries aren't listed on the rosters like with MLB teams. Yea that seemed unnecessary, especially since the source is a paywalled website. djoctagone, I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there a reason you never capitalize anything ever? Shift key broken?
  3. I like how Javier Baez came flying out of the dugout charging at Garrett, flipping him the bird, and he just gets a fine, but Amir Garrett gets a 7 game (!) suspension for "inciting the benches to clear". Ridiculous, and you're absolutely on point about Yadi.
  4. Garrett Mitchell picking up where he left off in spring training: beats out an infield grounder to 2B, and then scores from 1st on a Hayden Cantrelle 2B to the RF corner.
  5. Yeah, that's what I was getting at. There's no way you can say that Yelich, even healthy is a better value at 26 AAV than Trout is at 35.45 AAV. If you're comparing Yelich's 2018/2019 with Trout, I would take that Yelich at 26 mil through 2028 versus Trout at 35 mil through 2030. But ok, if you subtract Trout from this equation, since he is obviously one of the greatest players of all time, and strictly compare MVP Yelich to my other example, Francisco Lindor, how can you possibly disagree with the value that Yelich's extension presents for the Brewers? Lindor is currently getting booed on a nightly basis by Mets fans and they've got him through 2031 for 32 mil a year. It really sucks he's hurt obviously, but any team in MLB except for the Pirates makes that team-friendly deal with Yelich after his 2018/2019. Maybe his back ends up derailing his career completely, but maybe he just sits for a few more weeks (or months) and then he's fine.
  6. That looks like a fun lineup, some very interesting guys to follow in Carolina this year!
  7. When he's healthy, yes absolutely I'm still stoked about that, because it's the most bargain-bin long-term contract for a star player in all of MLB. Sit him down for a couple months if need be. 1) He's not healthy, that's the reality, and if he's got chronic back problems now, it's fair to wonder where his health will be in 5 years. 2) It's not even close to the most bargain bin long-term contract in MLB. Acuna has that by a million miles, healthy Yelich or not. 1) Of course he's not healthy now, maybe you should've called David Stearns and Mark A before they tried signing this other-worldly talent to a cheap extension since you seem to have known back then that he was going to have an injury in 2021. 2) There's quite obviously no comparison to be made to the Braves signing an extremely pre-arb Acuna on a ridiculously cheap deal. Figured that would be obvious. It makes far more sense to compare Yelich to his peers (similar age/MLB experience). Compare him to Lindor, Trout, etc etc and it's really tilted in the Brewers favor.

  9. Oh come on, man! I wasn't getting too worked up about Yelich potentially being injury-plagued for the rest of his career here, but I am officially concerned now.
  10. Luis Robert is out at least 12-16 weeks with a torn hip flexor for the White Sox.
  11. Exciting to see Caden Lemons healthy and ready to log some innings
  12. The Brewers are just helping the Dodgers get their bats going for their series at Wrigley tomorrow. Craig is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
  13. Tough start for Bettinger here, but mostly weak contact so far at least. Limit the damage please
  14. vs LAD 1-1 @ PHI 2-2 @ MIA 1-2 vs STL 2-1 vs ATL 1-2 @ KC 0-2 @ CIN 2-1 vs SD 2-2 @ WSH 2-1 vs DET 0-1 Overall: 13-15
  15. As has already been mentioned numerous times in this thread, you can still get a positive test even if you've received a vaccine. A number of ballplayers have missed games this year due to the vaccine side-effects, so do fans get to question their decisions in a baseball context as well? Speculating on Corbin's vaccination status with zero actual knowledge and judging him as if he was Jeff Kent recklessly tooling around on a motorcycle is pretty nonsensical, in my opinion.
