  1. Considering his record right now (which most people would tie directly to his trade value), he is by all accounts our least valuable trade chip in the rotation. Ship out Vargas!!!
  2. To be fair, Burrell gets on base better than any OF we can march out there. And if you want to talk about plus defenders, perhaps we should go back to Craig Counsell at 3B...
  3. First of all, saying Burrell has "decent" power is like saying Braun has "decent" power...except worse. Pat the Bat stirs up a Hurricance with every swing of the shelele, while his Hurricane counterpart has a record of HR's at the MLB level for half a season. Furthermore, while he may not have the Hebrew Hammer's speed, I would argue that he could beat Adam Dunn or El Caballo (or my nickname for him, El Burrito) any day of the week in a 40...though I guess that would mean Pat overran the bag.
  4. If a team were willing to offer Jenkins a contract for $10mil per year, on a multiple year contract, wouldn't it behoove the Brewz to pick up his option and then trade him to that team, as he would be more valuable to them at $9mil for one year? What I am getting at is that my guess is that Jenkins would be lucky to get a contract like he was originally given, considering his platoon-needs...
  5. Trade him to the Padres for Peavy and Inman...
  6. I understand the fascination with Braun's value, but honestly, a year ago, people had Alex Gordon ticketed for 10+ All-Star appearances and Ryan Zimmerman was being measured for a bust in Cooperstown. And to be honest, I still value Yo more than Braun.
  7. Braun for Scott Moore (pictured at left). They are literally the same age (to the day), and play the same position. Cubs might even throw in Jeff Samardjza to alleviate any problems the Pack has at the WR position.
  8. I have the perfect trade idea. Braun and Hart for Garrett Atkins, Matt Holliday, and Jeff Francis. Takers? I just really want the Canadian lefty...
  9. He does have more World Series Home Runs than Carlos...
  10. He does have more World Series Home Runs than Carlos...
  11. Straight platoon of Murton and Scotty Po. Murton takes the AB's, Scotty Po does the baserunning. And Lou finds another reason not to play their prized prospect, THE FOOT!
  12. Straight platoon of Murton and Scotty Po. Murton takes the AB's, Scotty Po does the baserunning. And Lou finds another reason not to play their prized prospect, THE FOOT!
  13. I'm a bit curious why Dave Bush always seems to be out... I didn't know there was a waiting list for his bandwagon.
  14. Imagine if the Red Sox were to put Man-Ram on waivers again... We just need to build a giant wall in left and we're set!
  15. Capuano / Vargas / Gross(Billy loves OBP) / Mat Gamel to the A's for The Douche and Rich Harden -We need to shore up the bullpen, and I have long drooled over the chance to add Rich Harden to the staff...at almost any cost. This offseason would be an ideal "Buy Low" opportunity, with his injury history. Gamel allows them a prospect at the hot corner to take over when Chavez's back forces him to Frank Thomas-status. Perhaps it is overpaying with giving away such young talent, but for Rich Harden, it will have to be an appealling package. Jr. Gwynny / Manny Parra (or CV the Younger...I just like imagining how those their three presumed lefties would slot next year...if Parra could make the rotation) to Minnesota for Nathan....Too much? Too little? I imagined what it would have taken to get Gagne...and Linebrinck...and added the two together. Nathan? A man can dream.... Rotation... Sheets Harden Yo Bush Suppan Bullpen... Shouse Wise Parra/CV (whichever isn't traded to the Twins) Linebrinck (Freshly resigned....Turnbow-type contract) The Douche Turnbow Nathan
  16. Ron Mexico jersey, here I come!
  17. It sounds like a bad Nursery Rhyme...
  18. I think their pursuit of Gagne proves that they need to have the starters take some pressure off of the bullpen. That said, I think Parra and Yo out of the 'pen could be just the ticket. In the end, I think the end of the game is well-secure as long as they don't have Wise warm up, sit down, and then warm up again an hour later. It just might be detrimental to an arm that has many times stated he can't pitch on back to back days.....
  19. Surprising player(s)... Corey Hart. Where in the order couldn't you bat him? Prince....that's-a-lot-of-power.... Sheets....at the All-Star break, I thought he was finally going to make a run at the Cy Braun....The Hebrew....Gavel...Mallet? I just have a hard time giving all the credit to the guys hitting in front of the Regal One. The people in front of Prince would seem to have hit as many HR's as Prince himself... And if I had to imagine the reason, it wouldn't be the boyish good looks of the next great product of The U and the Soap Star. But the numbers do look good during any good-natured ribbing of a North-sider who wants to compare Triple-Sackers... Yo and Villy...I group them together because both young phenoms have been astute additions to the roster, even if Yo's ascension was a bit overdue in regards to how quickly Homer and Hughes...and Tiny Tim...were promoted. But...WOW! T-Bow and CoCo....Like Elliott Ness and the Untouchables...except lately, they've gone the way of the altar-boy, but with their new best friend, Papa Scott, I would imagine the "Sharing is Caring" motto should affirm their deity-hood. As for those who are Swimming with the Fishes.... Weeks...I thought he would be the 2B equivalent of Jose Reyes...with 10HR more. NEXT! Capuano...With the Quality Starts, I expected him to put up 18 W's...at minimum. I thought with a year to practice the pickoff move with Prince, he would again lead the majors. Now, I expect him to be moved, because most of the Brewer fanbase has an affinity for Vargas' lucky record. Gross....Two HR's in one game? Very nice. But until he gets more playing time (ie, PRODUCING!), he's going to be on the south side of this list. Estrada...I don't know if I have been more disappointed by how little he gets on-base or how little he cares when the opposing team is on base. Philly fans didn't like you? Atlanta gave you the Tomahawk.... Arizona paid us to take you off their hands.... Can I really be disappointed in you? And it needs to be said...VARGAS! Much like Bizarro Seinfeld...with slight alliteration. I look like Ben Sheets, gnawing at my cuticles when he pitches. My stomach sizzles like the McDonald's fry vat at lunch-rush! But yeah...we haven't fallen off the tight-rope YET, so let's keep marching him out there. The Old "Russian Roulette" strategy. I like it!
  20. Here's a question. When Papa Scott comes back, does Parra go down? I was hoping to see him pitch Wednesday, but it doesn't look like he is going to get a shot at Win #1... Nevertheless, Elmer shouldn't be seen in Milwaukee as long as our starters perform up to par.
  21. Didn't they say they wanted to limit Parra's innings, as well? Given his history, I would be more cautious with him than the Mexican workhorse. Then again, I also wouldn't be opposed to the two young pitchers piggy-backing a start or two, even if it does kill any hope of Ned getting a W on his fantasy team for the night (does anyone else cynically believe the guy purposefully would throw Spurling out there sometimes just to ensure that it became a save situation??).
  22. Gagne would make me do a double take... Otherwise, Roy Oswalt would seriously make me ecstatic!!!
  23. Edwin Jackson, Joel Hanrahan, and Greg Miller echo those sentiments.
  24. Perhaps a more apt comparison would be Mark Prior, though with much less success. Both were high profile Trojans. I like the idea behind looking into his trade value but right now, I wouldn't think he's worth either Bourn or Jr. Gwynny.
  25. I would honestly be more apt to give Gagne the contract many had ticketed for Cordero, even with the injury history. And, like many here drool over, imagine the picks if we couldn't resign any of the three. And while it would help minimally in the regular season, it would be immensely helpful in the postseason. Wise/Villanueva in the sixth, leading to Linebrink/Turnbow in the seventh. Then, we get to witness Gagne pitch the eighth, and then giving the ball to Coco in the ninth. Then again, given the way Coco has been pitching lately, he could again become the set-up guy for Texas' closer. But no matter how you view it, we would have four "closer-quality" arms at our disposal if and when we get to the postseason.
