  1. It has been established that A-Rod is a DUNCE! Yeah, if it wasn't clear that I was casting Arod as a fool, I apologize. The guy has no grip on where the game is headed. He'll quickly retire himself unintentionally from a career as a broadcast analyst if he doesn't wake up soon.
  2. Funny hearing the FOX crew question how long the Brewers formula will last. The real question is how long until every team in baseball follows suit. Very few pitchers are elite enough to maintain their dominance over hitters multiple times through a lineup. The future of pitching is 11-12 guys averaging 2-3 innings per appearance. AROD just flat out said the Brewers can't win the World Series this way.
  3. Game 2 starter Ryu, like most major league pitchers, has a pretty significant dropoff in numbers the 2nd time through the order (.576 1st, .724 2nd). Will the Dodgers continue to use a traditional pitching model as the Brewers limit most Dodgers hitters to one look a night? If the Dodgers don't adjust, it statistically gives the Brewers a notable advantage. Note: Game 3 starter Walker Buehler holds up very well multiple times through (.512 1st, .592 2nd) while Game 4 starter Rich Hill becomes significantly less effective (.511 1st, .819 2nd) Hopefully Roberts feels compelled to keep giving Brewers batters multiple looks. It doesn't guarantee anything, but the math tilts the Brewers way.
  4. Does Roberts keep Puig, Pederson, and Muncy out of the starting lineup again for a LHP that might only go 2-3 innings? Or does he assume CC wants Miley to pitch 5-6? Brewers still have Burnes, Peralta, and Guerra fresh and ready to cover multiple innings with an off day tomorrow so it's not like Miley has to be used any differently than Gio yesterday. I love the advantage gained by the way CC can dictate matchups.
  5. Almost like being there...
  6. I have nothing against the discussion in its essence, but in the playoffs there are no absolutes. Even Counsell knows there's a longshot chance Hader would have to be used at some point tomorrow.
  7. LOL, pretty sure you've made your point. Says the guy responsible for about 25% of the reactionary posts in this game thread. From the talk in here, you'd think the Brewers pen walked 8 batters. It's a valid point. People are reaching for negatives and its fair to counter it with facts.
  8. Btw #2, the Brewers bullpen walked 2 Dodger batters in 7 innings tonight. Many of them weren't as sharp as they can be, but let's not revise history here. Life is so much easier when you stop searching for the negative.
  9. No, they were walking guys vs. Colorado too. They just got away with it against a weaker lineup. Btw, Brewers' relievers had 4 BBs in 18.1 innings pitched in the NLDS.
  10. No, they were walking guys vs. Colorado too. They just got away with it against a weaker lineup. Ah ok, so you're proclaiming that the bullpen wasn't sharp vs the Rockies and will continue to walk Dodger hitters. Thanks for the heads up. I happen to know what I saw and it was rust.
  11. Not sure if you all are aware, but the commercial breaks are longer in the playoffs. That's a big part of this as well.
  12. I imagine Roberts will forego the usual platoon and get Puig, Peterson, and perhaps even Muncy back into the starting 9 tomorrow. Round 1 of the chess match goes to CC. Silly to line things up via traditional splits when Miley is a mere initial out getter.

  14. Top 1st and Turner's ground ball up the middle followed by Freese's drive to left center. Turned into outs by Arcia and Cain. There are many ballclubs where those two balls were a single to center and a run scoring double to the gap. With Machado coming to bat. Think about how much different this game would be. Defense matters.
  15. I'm thoroughly enjoying how well Woodruff is mowing these guys down. I also didn't forget how night and day he's been the 2nd time through the order. There's your answer ladies and gents. It will come for him.
  16. Nope. I don't care where where rankings fall for this kid. I'm not going to go so far as to predict an MVP, but I do believe he's the 3rd best bat in the entire organization right now today and that thought is very exciting. 2018 is the opening of the window for this organization and pieces like Hiura on the cusp of being added to the mix are worth getting hyped about.
  17. I see the logic in it. With one less bench bat this series, that final one needs to be a good one. I trust Santana at the plate more than Broxton.
  18. I had it at Cedeno in Santana out, instead its Broxton. Fine by me.
  19. You might want a refresher on Southern League batting averages. Only 2 players in the entire league hit over .300 in 2018. The 8th highest BA was .266 (Hiura hit .272 at nearly 3 years under the league average age while battling an injury) Hiura could hit over .300 with his eyes closed in AAA PCL. And if he jumped right to the majors on Opening Day 2019, he'd push Cain for 2nd highest BA in Milwaukee next year. You're missing the boat by quite a bit on Hiura if you think he's that far off. The kid just needs to stay healthy and work on his play at 2B. The bat is major league ready now. I'm looking forward to your "I had no idea Hiura was this good" post sometime next year.
  20. No need for me to type it out since I think this nails it. It's as simple as needing 1 more pitcher for the potential 7 games in 9 days, and swapping out the one dimensional Santana for an added lefty in the pen (Cedeno).
