  1. I understand you pain and disappointment, as my Cubs have lost more than they won lately in the playoffs. To be honest this Brewer team scares me more than any other Brewer team in the past 10 years. Lots of young talent to build around. They kinda remind me of the Cubs of 10 years ago. The Brewers won 97 games, won a very emotioal NLDS against a hated division rival, then got swept in the NLCS by a team they swept in the regular season. In 2015 the Cubs won 97 games, won a very emotional NLDS against a hated rival, then got swept in the NLCS by a team they also swept in the regular season. The next year the Cubs won the World Series. Maybe history will repeat itself and next year will be your year. Congrats on a great season. Looking forward to battling it out with you guys again next year. As for the rest of this year...I'll be rooting for the AL winner. P.S. - Go Bears!
  2. Speaking from experience, in 2015 we beat the Cardinals in the NLDS only to get swept by the Mets in the NLCS. 2015 is still considered one of my favorite playoff experiences.
  3. Looking at it from this side of the fence, I do not want the Brewers to start Miz. Yes, he has slipped as of late, I don't think he knows where his pitches will end up sometimes, he is a rookie and there will be some major butterflies in his stomach for the first inning of a winners take all game, especially if Cubs fans show up int bunches at American Family Field(we call it Wrigley North), but the Cubs have had trouble all year facing heat and I think its imperative for us to score first to keep the weight of the world on the Brewers shoulders. I would rather see any other pitcher start than Miz... preferably Gasser😁
  4. I will always hate the Brewers but that doesn't mean I can't cheer them on when the Cubs have been eliminated. I will definitely be hopping on the Brewers bandwagon for the rest of the playoffs if/when they seal this series. It's always more exciting watching a team trying to get their first series win than watching the Dodgers or yanks win it again for the 367th time. The only bad thing about the Brewers winning it this year is I will no longer be able to tease my Brewer friends with this image anymore😁
  5. Once again, Diehard cub fan here, long time stalker of the site but hardly post. I'm curious to know your thoughts on what the Brewers will do if we happened to get a win tonight and force a game four. Do you think they will start Peralta in game 4 to try to seal the series and then have him able to pitcher game 2 in the NLCS or will they try to get a win out of Quintana in game 4 and then have Peralta ready to go in game one of the NLCS?
  6. To be honest I would think you would be used to this by now. The Brewers will never get the same respect as the Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies or other big market teams even when they deserve it. Look back at the last 20 world series winners and tell me how many small market teams win. I'm guessing it'll be about 5 or so. That's why these MLB reporters or whatever you call them will always side with Goliath over David. I'm not saying I agree with them, but its just the way it is. I am superstitious when it comes to baseball though and want to remind you that you've only played 2 games and, since everyone's opinion on this site, including mine, is that the Brewers are a better team than the Cubs, you haven't faced those more talented teams yet. Don't jinx yourself😉
  7. Diehard Cub fan here. Long time stalker of this site but I usually tend to not post. First off I want to say I did not watch the video, my wounds are to fresh and are still raw. Secondly I'd like to say how frustrating it is for me, if not most Cubs fans, that every year we seem to be out played by smaller markets like Milwaukee and St. Louis. It amazes me how good the Brewers seem to be almost every year with limited payroll while seemingly always losing good players to free agency. I personally never 'assume' we are or will be better then the Brewers, I personally picked the Brewers in 4 in this series, but I do feel there is no reason we shouldn't be. The Cubs are a big market team and have the money to be competing with the Dodgers and Yankees, but they would rather try to win like a small market team and keep more money in their pockets. The problem with that is they don't seem to have the same smart baseball staff that the Brewers/Cards have when it comes to finding unknown talent, and they spend money on the wrong players, like $20 million a year on Ian Happ. I believe that when talking about the Brewers sustainability its more for this specific year not for the long term. You have to admit that the 39-9 stretch the Brewers had mid June to mid August is not something that happens very often in baseball. The other 4 months of the season the Brewers were 58-56, which is about as average as you can get, so its more likely to believe the 39-9 was more of an aberration than the norm and that it would not be sustainable.
  8. Hey guys. Longtime stalker, first time poster. Diehard Cub fan here and I was looking at the remaining schedules for both teams, crunching the numbers a bit and unfortunately for us, unless we see a Brewers collapse, I think you guys will have the division clinched before we go head to head for the final series of the year. If this does come to pass The Brewers may find themselves in a position to somewhat chose who they face in the first round. Losing to the Cubs could send us to Philadelphia, where as beating the Cubs could make them your first round opponents. My question for you guys is what do you believe the Brewers would do in this situation, take advantage of this to try to get a more favorable opponent, or will they not worry about who they face and worry more about resting players to prepare for the post season?
