    Visually his swing looks short with a below the shoulder finish. Wonder if it measures longer due to his hands starting a bit deeper than most and he is fairly tall(6'4") so the swing arc will be longer for that reason alone. When I watch him compared to Adames he looks short to the ball. Willy looks like me from the tee box. If I was a pitcher I would attach them completely opposite. Stay down and away from Rhys and go up and in on Adames.

    This is where stats don't tell the whole story. Launch angle and swing path are two different things in that the ball angle coming off the bat is largely impacted by the contact point. He has a relatively short compact swing and is very good at hunting fastballs up in the zone which result in the ball coming off the bat at a higher angle even though the swing path isn't extreme by any means. Willie adamas on the other hand has an extremely high angle swing path and tends to make contact with more balls down in the zone.

    Today swings are so geared for balls down that it's hard to get to balls above the belt.

    Amen. There's a certain point when the harder you swing the slower your bat gets.
