    Ramon Rodriguez had last played on May 16 last year, suffering a “devastating non-contact lower-leg injury” at that time, but returned to game action yesterday!: 3 innings behind the plate and 1 plate appearance. Welcome back Ramon!

    Yesterday, I was encouraged to see Edwin Jimenez pitch the 7th inning (K. 2 fly outs). Now 24 years old, his last regular season game was in May 2024, though he did toss 8.1 innings in the recent Arizona Fall League. Now today, I’m pleased to see that Jesus Flores is available. Turning 21 next month, Flores missed the last 2 months of the 2025 campaign with an injury and was on the 60-day injured list to end the season.

    RHP Daurys Mora released by ACL Brewers Mora was signed in June 2022 out of the Dominican Republic, posting a 5.50 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 8.1 K/9 in 34.1 IP in the Dominican Summer League that same year. Getting to start 9 of 10 games pitched was a signal that Mora was something of a priority pitcher for the organization. Unfortunately, he missed the 2023 and 2024 seasons with an injury before returning to action in May 2025 in the Arizona Complex League: 2.08 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 10.4 K/9 in 13 IP in 11 relief appearances. His exit in his final outing on July 1, 2025 coincided with an "injury delay" in the game log, though he wasn't placed on any injured list to our knowledge. We hope Daurys is fully healthy and wish the 22-year old success in his future endeavors.

    This may not be saying much, but I feel a lot better about Rengifo/Hamilton than I did about Dunn/Capra.

    I feel like they were messing with us after the Peralta and Myers trade, saying we can use Zerpa, Ashby or Hall as a starter, whereas we’ve now picked up 40-man MLB roster SPs Kyle Harrison and Shane Drohan. And how I HOPE they’re messing with us again on the use of internal options to replace Durbin. None of David Hamilton (.590 OPS in 194 MLB PAs in 2025), Jett Williams (just 151 career AAA PAs), Eddys Leonard (.739 OPS in AAA in 2025), Brock Wilken (not yet played above AA) or Greg Jones (just 8 career MLB PAs; poor BB/K ratio in minors) sound like Plan A to start 2026 in my view.

    I'm sold on the starting pitching: Woodruff, Misiorowski, Priester, Harrison, Gasser, Henderson, Sproat, Drohan, etc. I'm guessing there's a CF-for-INF trade coming up - i.e. Mitchell or Perkins for I've-no-idea-who.

    Jairo Cuevas (new ACL Brewers’ Pitching Coach) might be the recent Mariners’ AAA Pitching Coach. If so, it would likely signify broader organizational responsibilities. Or maybe he’s an entirely different person. We’ll see. Conor Baxter (2nd year in organization; from Great Britain) gets a nice shot as DSL Brewers Blue Hitting Coach.

    That’s a nice promotion for Tyler Thornburg, from AA Associate Coach to AAA Nashville co-Pitching Coach. Pat McGuff also gets a promotion, from ACL co-Pitching Coach to High-A Wisconsin Pitching Coach. Jesus Hernandez was McGuff’s co-Pitching Coach in the ACL last year and he becomes a co-Pitching Coach at Low-A Wilson this year. Jose Garcia was Hitting Coach for DSL Brewers Blue and a Development Coach for the ACL Brewers, but now moves up to Low-A Wilson Hitting Coach.

    Some of the speculation above was spot-on - e.g. Nick Stanley moves up a level to High-A and recent addition Eddy Morgan (12 years at Concordia University) will lead the Wilson Warbirds - but I don’t think any bingo card had Mike Guerrero returning to AA Biloxi, with Joe Ayrault becoming Field Coordinator:

    After mistakenly thinking we had Eugenio Suarez-level money ($15m) last offseason (for a trade) only to realize we could only sign Jose Quintana ($4m), I refuse to get my hopes up. I’m expecting a minor league deal with the likes of Joe Ross, Kolby Allard, Mike Clevinger or Joey Lucchesi.

    We also have Greg Jones, Eddys Leonard, Freddy Zamora and Ethan Murray to account for. Of the 2003-2004 birthday men being considered for AAA (Burke, Pratt, Adams, Lara), I assume Pratt (120 career AA games, potential first AAA game at age 21.62 years) is the most likely to be rostered there, following the Turang career path (73 career AA games, first AAA game at age 20.70 years). I agree that the Burke vs. Adams placement decision looms large, but maybe we'll give Adams some more opportunities at third base to retain the flexibility to keep them both in AA to start the season.

    If we lost Nashville as a AAA affiliate, then Richmond, VA (solid attendance, new stadium seats 10,000) or Grand Rapids, MI (solid attendance, stadium seats 10,923) might be options, I guess.
