Per Brewers Twitter: 2B Wong CF Cain DH Yelich RF Garcia LF Taylor C Pina 1B Shaw SS Urias 3B Reyes Is this the best defensive lineup currently at CC’s disposal? Maybe swap out Garcia for JBJ? Not saying he should, as offense needs as much as it can get. Just a talking point re defense.

First walk for Urías was an IBB to bring the pitcher to the plate. I know but Ponce de Leon was wild too which got him into trouble in the first place. That was more my thought on that. My point was, oftentimes, a multiple walk day can indeed be a precursor to a decent run at the plate as you seemed to be suggesting. One walk and one intentional in an otherwise 0-3 day, not so much. I think we’d both like him to be more than futile at the plate, which he’s been so far. Anyways, great win and series victory. Go Crew!

I missed the 5th. Did something happen to Shaw or did Counsell just PH him with Robertson? If the latter, seems silly. Up 6 (but still had 15 outs to get at the time) and Shaw has been a stud on defense at 3B. Also swinging a good stick.

Agree with this. Probably needs to focus on three pitches as a reliever, see which is working on a given day. There’s no need to use kid gloves on a 34 year old pitcher, with a career FIP of 4.20 and WHIP of 1.36. He’s text book mediocre, if it honestly upsets his psyche pitching out of the pen, then they should just cut their losses now and release him. Jordan Zimmermann’s stuff can’t be worse This is a better summation of my earlier thoughts. Yang Hyeon-jong Yoo Hee-kwan and Chang Won-jun won the previous four Korean Cy Young’s before Lindblom went back-to-back. Sure, none had a major league track record prior to Lindblom but I’m not sure how his career in both leagues warranted a three year majors guarantee

Does Lindblom have a three year contract? If so, why? Guy wouldn’t have taken a one year deal to return to the majors and see what he has (and get paid)? Swing and a miss by Stearns.

I know I’m not the only one who feels Counsell is starting to regress at least a little as a manager. I get last season was truncated and innings need to be managed. But questionable pulls of his top two starters the last two games, acting as if D Will and Hader can’t ever go back to back anymore (not to mention largely pigeonholing him into the antiquated “closer only” role..etc etc. He seemed so innovative with his staff in the first few years of his tenure. Still happy to have him as the skipper but he’s raising one of my eyebrows at least.

Yardley didn’t pitch well but that run is on Robertson. Just gather the ball and throw to first. Inning over. It was a routine play.

Been following the IGT but haven’t seen much of the game live due to having two little ones at home, but surely Gameday must be lying to me when it says Vogelbach reached on an infield single in the fifth. Fully expecting the Crew to stop at 19 runs tonight just to taunt us all.
