  1. Guaranteed Rate 4/30. Bullpen guys interactive with the kiddos, very fun.
  2. Just a wildly impressive outing from Ashby. I’ll back others who suggest using Ashby as the utility knife in the pen ala early Hader and seeing what Small can do in the 6th/spot starter role. Happy to salvage a win at the end of a rough road trip. Welcome home Crew!
  3. Not saying he’s the key to a win or loss but if George Hill plays another minute for the Bucks, it will be one minute too many. Never will understand why Bud didn’t keep giving those minutes to Carter or at least give them back to Carter once it was clear (pretty quickly) that Hill has nothing to offer. Yet he keeps trotting him out there.
  4. Boroski and his blatant bias against Badgers/Brad on full display
  5. Real bush league stuff right there from Howard. Don’t want Gard to call a late timeout to instruct his bench scrubs? Then don’t leave half your starters in to full court press when down 15 with 15 seconds left. Regardless, totally inexcusable handshake line behavior. Classless. Warrants a pretty significant suspension at the least.
  6. What an effort from this team. Davis has to be gone to NBA after this season, hey? Projected lottery pick from what I’ve seen lately.
  7. I certainly believe Burnes will continue to be an effective, if not dominant, SP based on stuff but fair to wonder if the sticky substance ban has significantly affected him (and of course many others)? Anyone have good info on spin rates for Burnes pre- and post-ban? Not savvy enough to know where to look myself.
  8. No, believe it or not, tone isn't always obvious on the Internet, but I already did suggest that as a possibility, so...... The relief pitchers we traded for have “literally” had no chance to make it to Atlanta and join the team, seeing as they were acquired mere hours ago. There’s no need to pick up on tone. It was, quite obviously, sarcasm.
  9. At least Keston consistently meets expectations. As in, no one reasonably expected him to drive in a run there.
  10. My goodness, so trwi7 is of the mindset that the out call was correct. Not a terrible take honestly. Disagree all you want. Questioning fandom and how people can and should react and think and interpret plays? Get out of here. Also probably time to let that call go IMO
  11. Seems like a lot of posters around here will benefit from the 4-day ASG. Lots of hostility and tension, yikes.
  12. True. His foot left the bag and he was tagged. Isn’t the runner entitled to some access to the bag however? If guy’s foot isn’t dead center, thus forcing Adames’ foot off the bag, he’s pretty clearly safe.
  13. At this point, if I’m Counsell, I don’t start Yelich again until at least Friday..
  14. Sure is. What a crock. Omar: .301/.397/.868 Molina: .258/.305/.722 Do the respective league managers of the ASG choose the replacements or ?
  15. this is a typical awkward characterization we hear all the time. They didn't necessarily cut bait...they needed an open roster spot. With Taylor showing he's ready to be in MLB as a 4th OF and us needing roster space, Fisher was let go. Doesn't mean they gave up on him, it means they had a better choice. Just a pet peeve of mine, like when people incorrectly say we gave up on Grisham. Looks like D Honks fell for that one hook, line, and sinker!
  16. Not sure I agree with that on the last three. All are just as likely to have a bad game as a good one and Suter and Richards should be the back end. I'm sure Ashby will be up sooner rather than later and maybe Wahl can give them something but they need some help. It’s easy to downgrade your own but this is simply not true going by the numbers. Richards has done a really nice job since the trade. Seconded. Godley should not be on the roster, but he is, so Counsell has to/will pitch him. A 3-run lead at Coors is never the time or place. Box 3.14 ERA .942 WHIP 3.73FIP Suter 3.82 ERA 1.415 WHIP 4.02 FIP Richards 2.63 ERA 1.098 WHIP 3.83 FIP Godley 9.00 ERA 2.00 WHIP 5.84 FIP Maybe small samples here and there, but if you show me those four options and a three run lead (assuming availability), I’d never choose the fourth.
  17. Excellent work by Lauer this afternoon. Especially at the plate. And a nice story highlighted by Eye Black to make this a great day for him. Guy has been a punching bag (justified) but every now and then he gives you quite the start for a #6. Edit: Jinx. Still going to highlight the bunting. Also, three earned through 5+ at Coors for a spot starter..I’ll take it.
