Looks like he tweaked his back on a swing. He finished the AB, but was taken out after a called strike three. He looked like he was in some mild discomfort on the bench then went into the lockeroom.
I haven’t even seen any announcement yet saying he’s been cleared to play. Maybe a hunch since he's been on the COVID IL for 10 days and was previously vaccinated... but I suspect him to be back very soon.
I saw a post on Reddit this week that listed the top-10 highest spin rate jumps. Woodruff appeared for a few different types of pitches. Boxberger showed up, too. I think Burnes has always had a high spin rate.
Is it? All the peripheral numbers were not indicating him being good anymore. Not only that, but all MLB teams haven’t signed him and there was that weird tiff with his ex-crazy agent. I hear you. But even his peripheral numbers last year are way better than Perdomo's. It's not like he's going to cost much.
For a team built to platoon... only two lefties in the lineup today. I feel like Vogelbach and JBJ should be playing today. Or is Hiura not playing 2nd at all anymore?
According to Trevor Plouffe on today's "Talkin' Baseball" podcast, Braun told him he was interested in coming back in July, but only for the Brewers. With the JBJ signing, I'd guess only a major injury makes that happen now.
