    Whoever came to the plate with no outs and a runner on third was TERRIBLE, swinging at 3 garbage pitches. They'd have been better off bunting. Completely blew the gig.

    Just FWIW, I checked MLBTV to see what's on tonight. Lots of stories about every team making the playoffs, except you know who.

    Not to wax philosophical but... I hate the end of the regular season. During the season, there are tons of games every day. They all mean something, or maybe not so much since there's always tomorrow. It's a long fun ride, and I never love to see it end. Of course it's nice when our team gets to keep playing!

    I agree SO much with the bit about borrowing grief! Well said, preacherman! Generally, I much admire the posters who know their stats and can talk about that thing called "analytics" (or whatever). But I also like when people (like me) just come aboard to express their joys and frustration. I don't come to audition for the manager or GM role, or to score rhetorical points (except maybe get a laugh or 2). It's a game we love. But it IS a GAME. (Don't believe it? Read the bloody awful news if you dare! 🙁) Cheers everybody! It's record breaking season, and there's more baseball ahead! WOOOT!!!

    I very much want to be wrong. But I can't see how sloughing off and backing into the prime playoff spot will help this team avoid another quick exit from the postseason. When are we supposed to turn on this imaginary switch to get us towards the World Series? Yeah, that 14 game winning streak was awesome. But is that all there is?
