  1. I just hope all the players have made the most of this day of rest after a tough 18 days. God bless 'em.
  2. I say again.... If your best hope is that your starter can last maybe 5 innings, every game is a bullpen game. And your bullpen is eventually gonna run out of gas.

  5. One of these games, I am going to ignore ESPN and MLB.com &c., and rely solely on this board to keep me informed about the game. Alcohol will be on hand.
  6. I just do NOT understand how our relievers can't produce 4 or 5 scoreless innings while we score at least 2 in every inning we bat! Baseball, bughghghghgh!!
  7. Amidst all the talk about "seedings" et al., I'm reminded that to beat the best one must always beat the best of the rest.
  8. After that 14-game winning streak, I started to deceive myself that we should win every game. That's stupid in any sport (even for me), but especially in baseball. But we'VE made it so far, with a decent lead, .... and, as has been noted: CUBS LOSE! CUBS LOSE! CUBS LOSE!
  9. Laurie R. King. A Sherlock Holmes story narrated by his 1920s wife. What one might charitably call brain candy or chewing gum for the mind. But it's the 11th in a series, so I can't be too snobby! 😅😇 definitely enjoying the baseball more.
  10. Reading a lightweight "mystery" novel, while listening to Brewer radio, which is a little bit ahead of ESPN game cast, and then looking up to see the TV broadcast which is at least 10 seconds late. I love baseball season!!
