  1. Both improved after coming to the Brewers. However you want to divvy up the development of that, the Brewers deserve at least some of the credit (I'd personally argue most of the credit but YMMV).

  3. No arguments from me about that. His usage was baffling.

  5. Now it's being reported the Dodgers have expressed interest in Adames. Huh. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/11/dodgers-have-shown-interest-in-willy-adames.html

  7. I'd just like to say again that I absolutely LOVE this series from Reilly McShane. It's always a fun look back at players we may not think about often.

  9. Frankly, I'm not all that interested in extending Adames. Maybe it's recency bias but his OBP dropping under .300 scares me a lot. I'm getting Javy Baez vibes, which I really don't like.

  11. Never trust a Beauchamp. They'll only let you down; we're a bunch of screw-ups.
  12. Which is why I've been ready to move on from Hiura for awhile. I hope the Brewers can get an A ball lottery ticket, move on, and replace his roster spot with someone who complements the lineup much more.

  14. This roster could really use a lefty-killer platoon specialist. Having that available opens a lot of opportunities to stack lefties together while not allowing the opposing a manger to exploit that from the sixth inning onward.

  16. One of those was a mistake. The original transaction thread shouldn’t have been in the Brewers forum. I just noticed this and moved it.
  17. There were rumors swirling that the Brewers might be open to dealing Adames this winter but based on a few things we've heard recently, that's now unlikely. While that's good news for Brewers fans, the reason behind it is possibly even more appealing: apparently, Adames and the Brewers may be discussing an extension. Adames took a step backward offensively in 2022; after posting a 126 and 120 wRC+ in 2020 and 2021, his batting average dropped about 30 points and his wRC+ fell below 110 while his on-base percentage dropped below .300. With batting averages dropping like a stone across MLB the past several seasons, it's hard to get a read on whether Adames' performance drop was a one-year aberration or what to expect going forward.

  21. Renfroe is actually a nice four hitter in today’s game. Decent average, good power. But what has really exposed the Brewer offense is the 2/3 hitters. You have Yelich at leadoff, which is actually pretty nice, but there isn’t even one guy they can slot in with a .270/.350/.450 line that you want manning the second and third slot. Brewer run scoring was solid in 2022 but it could have been very good with better top of the order bats. Not superstars, just a guy like Adames not having a down year.

  23. Hey, everybody. Step back and take a deep breath for a moment. We're all fans of the same team, let's get back on topic. Any more thread derailments after this post will be hidden so let's get back on the topic at hand.
