I'm going to assume that if Gute doesn't either 1) trade for Hendrickson, or 2) draft a stud pass rusher in the first round, that his talk of ramping up the urgency is all BS. This team is not going anywhere without a pass rush. I don't have high hopes for Van Ness anymore. If a player can't figure it out after two years, he's not going to figure it out at all. It's not out of the realm of possibility that this team could finish last in the division in 2025.

Well, they got a seven seed. Would've been nice to get to play at home but I guess a seven seed isn't deserving of that. Gonna be a tough game against a really good New Mexico team.

Absolutely I do. Hendrickson would instantly make this team a Super Bowl contender. I would say bringing in an elite pass rusher is ramping up the urgency instead of an offensive guard and a slot corner. (Not that I hate those signings.) It wouldn't take giving up more than one first round pick, and let's face it, Gute's track record with first round picks isn't exactly stellar. And any contract the team would give him would for all intents and purposes would be a one year and let's see contract like they give everyone else.

1. I suppose it's possible one of our current receivers will take a huge step forward. Remember, Adams had problems with drops early in his career too. 2. I'm also starting to wonder if Gute's talk of ramping up the urgency is just that: talk. There's still time for him to take a swing on Hendrickson or some other top shelf pass rusher if there is another one so I'll reserve my criticism until the horse is out of the barn.
