For those worried about the week off, would you rather still be playing? -
I'm not worried about the long layoff at all. We need the rest. I don't see how we lose this series. If we sweep again and going 11-1 in the postseason, where would this team rank in all time greats?

What Does Going to the World Series Mean to You?

It's great that we're back in the World Series but it's not enough for me. I've been through this rodeo before as a 12-year-old kid. Losing that Game 7 in St. Louis hurt, but that team was so great that I thought we'd be back the next year with another shot but it didn't happen. In 84, Yount got hurt and we finished with the worst record in baseball. Unthinkable to go from one game from the championship to the worst team in baseball in two years time and over the next 40 or so years since, the good times were few and far between. 2008 was great but we still weren't serious contenders to win it all. 2011 the Cardinals broke my heart again. 2018 I never believed we would win that Game 7 against the Dodgers with Chacin as our supposed ace taking the mound. The playing field between the small market teams like us and large market teams like the Dodgers and Yankees had never been more uneven. For a long time, I've been jaded about my chances of ever seeing a World Series championship and resigned myself to the idea that I would never live to see it happen. (Which probably explains the pessimism I've expressed on this site over the years LOL.) Now, beyond my expectations, we are back in the World Series and will be a prohibited favorite to win it no matter who we play. Please don't blow it, guys. You never know if/when you will get another opportunity again. It may be another 44 years. -
