  1. The sleeper here is Narveson should anyone falter- that's why they're not worried (plus saving 2.7 mill of course)
  2. Saw him on the 18th vs. the Angels -threw the same pitch 8 times for a ball and in the dirt- has the Manny baggy pants thing going big time-crowd was really harsh (get a tailor, cheater...)-kind of a circus atmosphere frankly saw him again Thursday night vs. the Royals- pitch speed was up but so were the pitches-he was hit hard, one for a 2B, the other a line shot to Hart have my doubts, but it was only two innings- not dominant tho and as to the OUTCAST bit- I watched him work with Sheets Monday morning for about ten minutes on a new pitch- he and Benny and Turnbow seemed to be hanging together for most of the morning- also quite a yapper during the pitchers batting/fielding practice games-didn't seem to be shunned to me
  3. OK, so this could be in "spring training stories," but for the benefit of the 3TO folks, I was talking to Russel yesterday after the back lot game (where he fanned twice)- told him he had quite a following on brewerfan.net and that he was approaching cult status. He said he had no idea he had that kind of following in Beertown and on the net. I told him to log on but didn't tell him about the 3TO bit. Oh well. So watch out, he may be lurking in the future if there's another outbreak of Russel the Muscle exchanges.. ...
  4. Unconditionally released by the new and robust Washington Nationals-losing out to Johnny E., eh? (note: this post refers to Chad Moeller --1992)
  5. Heading down on the 15th for a week anybody know whether there are advance schedules for the "B" games, or do they decide day-to-day? And if so,do you check with the office for the next day's schedule? Thanks.
  6. at least he didn't call Jenkins with that catch... maybe one too many pops for lunch...
  7. yup- guess so since he just did it again...
  8. Did Bob just confuse Gwynn with "Billy Hall" in the outfield?
  9. Thanks all for the advice- feel better now I'm thinking about coming for the Cardinals series around May 10- maybe I'll see ya around... Slainte, and GO BREWERS!
  10. One or 2 questions for hometown Brewers fans: 1. If I don't rent a car and bus into DT from Mitchell for a hotel, what's the situation with public trans from DT to the ballpark? How regular is the service each way? And how long does it take before and after the game between DT and the Park? 2.And if I stay for a Sunday game that starts at 1, would I be able to bus back DT and then catch a bus to Mitchell for a 7:25PM flight out? Seems like it should be enough time, but I'd rather not be stressin' during the game. Not like I'd leave early or anything... Thanks for your help Oregon Brewers Fan

  14. where you stay might depend on your budget and what you can tolerate for the few hours you're there. I've been down 3 or 4 times and tend to stay at the Travelodges or Motel 6 for the price- certainly not the atmosphere. But then I'm out the door by 8:30 to hike in the desert or go to the ball park. Don't roll in til after 10 and no hanging around the hotel anyway. I have stayed at Northern and I17 and also at W. 51st and I10. Both areas are close to the park and also to desert walking. Most of the nightlife is closer to Scottsdale but you'll probably pay more. Never stayed up by Peoria but that might be good if you want to go to Surprise and/or Peoria a lot. Cheers.
  15. is it being broadcast on the net anywhere?
  16. While we're at it, could we also please dump Davey and the other guy who struggle mightily to add value during and after the broadcast? Wow! I'll bet someone on this board could handle the job as well...
  17. Steve Bray looked very strong in Portland this week - maybe give Wise a rest and bring up Bray...
  18. The boys are coming to Portland Wednesday for their biennial trip- last time, got to see Weeks, Prince, Hart, and, of course, Trent Durrington... Q: is there any way to find out the pitching rotation for the series on the Sounds webpage? Might not be able to hit all 4 games...
  19. same old refrain- need another lefthander- maybe deal TBow for a lefty?
  20. Gabe's measured comments about getting a chance to play everyday from someone and his confidence that he'd do well April-October lead me to believe he's on the trade wire with management. Not a Cappy the Younger snit- just a recognition that his short-term future is probably elsewhere. I don't see them trading Gwynn. Now if Jenkins were moved,...
  21. take your time- Kent is doing play-by-play,eh?
  22. anybody know the in-game email address being used by Jim and Bob this year?
  23. I haven;t had a picture for 5 minutes and the audio is stuttering...
