  1. Not if he keeps leaving FBs between the thighs and waist over the middle of the plate. Next we'll read about his LOB% as flukey luck, but when you watch the games he tends to give up hits in bunches, and hits on bad pitches. I don't think anyone is every lucky or unlucky for an entire season. He's a much better pitcher than what he's done, but the FBs down the middle have to stop, it doesn't matter how hard you throw if you put the ball there. Nice strike out of Bruce there. Most people do not get lucky or unlucky for an entire season, you're right. That's why it has to go down. Home runs do not count in BABIP. Fastballs down the plate can become HRs, and hits in the field of play involve chance, so....I guess I don't know what you're saying. I'm lost.
  2. Yeah, Greinke's .350 BABIP has to go down at some point.
  3. The Brewers are the favorites but not by a heck of a lot. -130 moneyline. After you take away the vig, they are have a 55% chance of winning. So I guess we have a 45% chance of reading about how unbelievable it is that the Brewers are losing/lost.But we don't make our lines on what will happen. We make them on what people will bet will happen. And all people have to do is turn over their betting slip and see the Brewers' record on the road and against the Reds (not to mention Greinke's ERA), and that is about all the information more than half the people who lay down money use. The typical American gambler does not look too deep, and that is what the odds and moneylines reflect.
  4. Wow. Wilson is not fast and he started walking toward first on a pitch right down the middle. Ugly. There has to be someone else out there, right?
  5. After 21 pitches, Yo should be done. I guess we'll find out soon. He's due up 2nd.
  6. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT2-GlALjllNkEs5ydmDd6sudSfDcM7NXDbnNJH0ns2AVTPmfU-&t=1 Golden sombrero, Jonathan.
  7. Lucroy can go 0-4 with 4 K's in any game he wants as long as he's catching a shutout in that game.
  8. Man, we really have 6 viable All-Star candidates: Braun, Prince, Marcum, Yo (now under a 4.00 era), Rickie, and-despite a poor showing today- Lucroy. I guess some might even argue Axford, but that's a reach.
  9. I'm seeing the pattern. Send six to the plate in the odd numbered innings and a quick 1-2-3 in the even numbered innings.
  10. I am a big Lucroy fan, but that .386 BABIP is more than fluky and will drop much like Weeks' is.
  11. Yeah, kinda figured there was a reason Hart wasn't in. I don't understand why everyone always has such a knee jerk reaction and can't just wait for more information.
  12. Still remember being at this game: http://www.baseball-refer...s/MIL/MIL200706190.shtml Lincecum couldn't find the plate. Granted, it was his first year.....
  13. That was an easy ejection. What were you doing Ryan???????
  14. The Hart comment is a non-sequitor that has nothing to do with my opinion of Gomez or what I am saying. There was no way Hart was sitting today with his night last night and Kotsay is 13-38 (.342) versus Hernandez. I know, I know.....Offense doesn't matter. Nice pic. I get the point. I'll move on now. Definitely no reason to continue. We disagree. That's all.
  15. Enough offense???? We couldn't score on the road and Kotsay was personally responsible for 3 of our 5 runs in our 5-2 victory at Petco. How many times do you need to explain what? Your opinion as fact?Explain the fact that Kotsay is a terrible defender and shouldn't be in CF. This is a fact, yes. He isn't a great defender. I never said he was. But people are rallying around their cry that him playing a few games there will doom our season. Someone above said "Does Ron not want to make the playoffs?" He's played 1000 games in CF in his career. My original post just stated that it's not the end of the world and not as big a deal as people make it.
  16. And scored a run and kept an inning alive where we scored more.
  17. Okay. Four. But it's tough to explain how Gomez and Kotsay have the same number of multi-hit games (6). How many times do I need to explain this? I don't care about the difference between Gomez and Kotsay when it comes to offense. We have enough offense right now. The difference between Kotsay and Gomez on defense is greater than the difference on offense (especially in a pitcher's park like Petco).Enough offense???? We couldn't score on the road and Kotsay was personally responsible for 3 of our 5 runs in our 5-2 victory at Petco. How many times do you need to explain what? Your opinion as fact?
  18. Actually, I'm pretty sure this is the 4th start in CF, 2 of which were at Petco (one of the most spacious ballparks out there). And Gomez has actually been a lot better at home (small sample but still) than on the road. And I still don't get why Lucroy is 8th. Okay. Four. But it's tough to explain how Gomez and Kotsay have the same number of multi-hit games (6).
  19. True, I don't understand why Lucroy is in the 8 slot, but I really think we're making too big a deal putting Kotsay in CF. This is only the second time, and likely the last with Plush on the comeback. RR doesn't want to move Hart out of the spot he plays every day, which I can understand, and he wants to sit Gomez' bat. Yeah, Kotsay is pretty poor out there, but I'm not in love with Boggs, and Kotsay pretty much won the game for us with his bat last time he started there. Ideal? No. Lunacy? Not really.
