    I won't condemn him until he is proven guilty at all, but as far as the "innocent until proven guilty" clause goes, that is the creed of the American justice system. It has zero value when it comes to MLB and public opinion.

    Don't start Casey! I know he hasn't started all postseason, but I'm nervous Ron will buckle due to the 3 home run game he had against Jackson (though he is 0-10 in his other at bats against him).

    Statistically speaking, Loe is our best pitcher against the Cards (the lineup is a combined 8-65 with a .123 average against him) but that doesn't mean we want him pitching the 8th in a tight game. Also, McGehee had 3 HRs in a game against Jackson, but that doesn't mean we want him starting at third and hitting 5th tonight.

    Since the T-Plush character was always based on hyperbole and sensationalism- not plot or logic- I don't see how it could jump the shark.

    I've waited 29 years for this day, so I'm not about to ruin it with anxiety. This is supposed to be the fun part ya know.

    I thought it was all about the noise from Day 1 (or Game 2, really). Figured it was inevitable to be closed today. I felt completely comfortable for Game 2, so no arguments here.

    This could actually help Braun's MVP situation due to the fact that he is getting talked about endlessly on ESPN today in light of the Reyes thing. I am ticked at Reyes, hate that he asked for this, and hate that he had the nerve to pull such a stunt. That said, I would love it if the Brewers signed him.

    This is about the third or fourth time I've seen this misquote attributed to Roenicke on this board (or at least taken out of context). I guess it's my turn to be the one to say that this quote was meant for when Hart was coming back from injury and he wanted to ease him back in.

This argument can work to Braun's advantage when you consider we were 5-7 without him and 76-47 with him. "Braun was...........of little value in the two he came off the bench" To this, I must say.......

    Batting champ question: They say you need 501 plate appearances to win a batting title. Say you have 497, but adding 4 at bats with no hits would still give you the best average in the league. Will they add the 0-4 and give you the title?

    Yeah, when it comes to us and the Phils, it's an elimination number, not so much a magic number.

    It makes him eligible for the postseason roster, whereas waiting until September 1 would make him ineligible, barring an injury by a player who plays the same position. That's a pretty good reason to bring him up 5 days early.

Considering that the Cards would have been your regular start is Narveson would have made his start, is it possible that you just wanted to personally face the Cubs rather than Holliday-Pujols-Berkman?
