  1. Question: why wasn't the Hader trade dependent upon physical exams? Rodgers has a bad knee. Stearns, if you knew that and went ahead with it anyway, you're a bigger fool than I thought you were. Rodgers is a bust. He's given up runs each time he's come in except one. Today was as disaster. Had Counsel had the Boxberger/Gott/ then Williams and then Hader formulae, we would have won this won. While Bush as awakened, and doing well, for God's sake he's 36 years old. How old is Josh? Think about it. You got a bad reliever with an injury, a guy in the minors, and prospect for Josh Hader. You either duped badly by S.D. or YOU wanted to get rid of Hader very badly. Now, DAVID, if the team doesn't make the playoffs, you better catch a train out of town, because the blood will be on your hands. All the respect all of the fans HAD for you will be gone, and many of us will contribute to a ticket for you out of Milwaukee. The HADER trade was the worst in Brewer history and will be your downfall if this team can't overcome the cards. Had we had the HADER formulae to end today's game, Rowdies HR in the 9th would have won it for us. We would have won the series and come home a 1/2 game up AND in first place. Now, we're a game and half behind the cards and looking at facing the Dodgers for 4 games. The crew better take 3 out of 4 or we'll be in a big hole looking up and the year will be close to being over. Why oh why wasn't that trade based on physicals and why didn't you discover Rodger's bad knee? Why oh why didn't you make a trade for a big bat out in the outfield? Myself and many others wouldn't have cared had you traded Yelich for another bat. Look at his stance, he just can't get his bat or his body in a position to hit line drives like he once did. His knee injury two years ago now has stuck in his head, and he can't seem to get over it. He drives everything into the ground or he strikes on changeups and sliders. Trading him to one of the teams who are not going to make it for a big bat and a prospect would have made sense. But trading HADER was a huge fool's play. If we don't make the playoffs, myself and many other fans will be happy to see you leave Milwaukee. 90% or more of the Brewer's fans loved Josh Hader. YOU traded him shortly after his wife had a complicated pregnancy and birth. So, you sent him out of town away from his family. Thus, to me Stearns, you not only don't have a head, you don't have a heart either. Greg . . Question: Why wasn't the Hader trade dependent upon physical exams of all players? Thank you David Stearns for the WORST trade in Brewers history! We got Rodgers who absolutely blew it today has given up runs every time but once since we got him. His stuff is so hittable he couldn't make it in Nashville. Now, David, if we don't make it to the playoffs, the blood is on your head"!!! You got taken for a fool by the S.D. GM. S.D. is overworking Hader, and I'm sure they're doing that because they know they'll be trading him next year. I hope they don't make it to the playoffs either. No doubt this will go down, for you Stearns, as the "Fools Trade." Bush has awakened, but Rodgers is a bust for sure. Had Hader or Williams pitched that bottom of the 8th, Rowdies HR in the top of the 9th would have won it, won the series, and sent us home a 1/2 game up in first. But now, we lost the series, we're down 1.5 games, and the Dodgers are coming in for 4 games. You better hope and pray the CREW takes 3 from them and that the Cards lose a couple. If the Cards take the division and we miss the playoffs, I hope you choose to go somewhere else-the Mets won't want you anymore given how they're doing. You're making Counsel look really bad. You should have kept Hader and traded for a bat in the outfield. Yelich has looked horrible because he won't change his stance, get his hands back, and turn his head more toward the pitcher. Look at the stats and see how many ground balls and strike outs he has vs: line drives and fly balls. It's horrible because of the way he's approaching the ball he's continually driving the ball into the ground. He needs the hitting coaches to do some heavy, disciplined work with him, or he's a bust too. Hope you're gone next year-what you did to this team is really unforgiveable. Greg
  2. Why is Yelich driving the ball into the ground. Well, from the old coach, here's what I see. Since his knee injury he's got his hands closer in to his body and lower. He also doesn't have his head turned far enough toward the pitcher. He misses alot of down and inside sliders as a result. When he goes into his swing his bat angle hits the ball hard, but drives it into the ground. Very few line drives. He needs to get his hands up and back away from his body more. His swing angle will then change and the result will be more line drives. He also needs to check his helmet and get one that allows him to turn his eyes more toward the pitcher like Ryan Braun did. Yelich also needs to quit guessing so much at what's coming. He needs to see it, read it, and hit it. Keston Huira has made like changes to his stance and swing. Yelich needs to do the same and quit being afraid to attack the ball. He still has that foul off his knee in his head. Someone needs to explain to him that's a one and million chance of happening so let it go. Greg
  3. By trading Josh Hader did we give up our World Series chances? If what Stearns got in return for Josh can't achieve what Josh did, and they must very soon, the rest of the team will lose trust in them and then the any chance at the series is gone. Pittsburgh losses have spooked the team. Two of those games would have been wins had Hader still been on the team. Bush is a bust and where is Rodgers? He pitched one decent inning but that inning showed he does not have the elite stuff Hader has. Now, that all puts extra pressure on Williams, Boxberger, and Rodgers to perform at their highest level. This may includer Suder as well. With Hader players knew if they had a lead going into the 7th, they had at least a 90% chance to win. Now that's all gone. Stearns move looks like it's not only a bust from a team disposition but also from a chance at the big one. The big question also remains, what message did this send to guys like Woody, Burns, Peralta and Burns? If you're too successful will you be traded because the executives don't want to pay you? So, what's my motivation now? Counsel and the execs better address very soon. If the team mood and play against the Reds continues like it did against the lowly Pirates, chances at the big one may really be gone. The team guys wanted Josh with them in the big hunt, but now he's gone. Stearns didn't consider alot of things. People like me paid to see Hader time. Who will pay to see Rodgers? Nobody. Stearns traded an elite shining diamond and got a bag of rough cut pebbles. Greg
  4. Well, Stearns did not consider the.emotional impact or morale of the team. Hader, Woodruff, Peralta, Burns, Suder, all came up around the same time. Hader was a brother, a foundational piece. The impact of his trade will throw the team out of sync for a while. It also appears to me S.D. got a diamond and we got a sack of pebbles. They got an elite and we got a few second tier at best. Stearns got duped by S.D. quanity over quality is never an answer. He cut one of the guys he got the day after he got him. Bush and Rodgers are not a deal for Josh Hader. S.D. went for it to beat the Dodgers in the playoffs. We traded Hader because, like is our history, we don't want to pay him next year. True, in the middle of next year, I doubt S.D. will be able to afford him either. He'll be 100 million dollar man or more if he continues as he has the last few years. If he learns another pitch, like a changeup, it'll be more. Williams is emtionally not ready to be the high pressure closer, Hader is. Greg
  5. Have to admit, as an old player, high school and college baseball coach, I hate to see Hader go. He's an elite player that only comes around every 20 years or so. However, as his agent once stated, once his contract comes due there will be a bidding war. I suspect it'll take a 4 to 5 year contract at 125 yo 150 million to sign him should he continue as he has. Thus, as is the Brewers history, they get what they can get before the big pay day comes due. Stearns has been very good thus far in following the Brewer strategy so we'll just have to wait and see. No doubt they got alot for Hader, but he was a foundation part of the Brewers. How many games this year and last did he win fot them. But now, a young Devin Williams spelled his end with the Crew as well. Goodbye Josh. Loved you and will miss you. Just hope not too much. Greg
