To me Bauers being under the Mendoza line in late August and all of a sudden saying (or he said this) he just went into the tunnel and said let it go. Just play free. Stop worrying about the results. Then he had a crazy September and now the 2026 to remember. I find that more interesting than the possible retirement after 2024. To late in a season make adjustments and become a breakout star at 30 usually requires a change of scenery to a new org. I saw Bowden had projection in The Athletic at 4-56....If that is the case I wonder if the Brewers could bring him back? A shorter Rhys Hoskins like 2-34 (17M AAV) is 3M more per year. I think Bauers if he stayed in MKE will be maybe not 2026 good, but still good. I just think if he goes elsewhere, he won't ever come close to replicating this season even though I'll be happy for him. I personally do think he gets more than $14M per year FWIW.

I think the biggest thing of dragging teams and pitchers has been the difference. There are a bunch of factors why this team is different, results wise. Long ABs. Probably the biggest factor is depth of the lineup and guys actually hitting well at the right time this year...Contreras had an ice cold summer, but he's hitting now...Yelich has been better in the postseason...Turang getting on base at a near .400 clip despite not hitting for average...Chourio coming through in big moments and hitting the ball really hard despite not always getting results. Look at Adames, he had some really good reg. seasons but never did anything in the playoffs. The Brewers have the most HRs in the postseason and their pitchers just prevent them, especially the pen. Despite this, they have only scored like 30% of their runs via HR after their 10 run effort tonight with 0 HR. This team is just FINALLY playing its best at the right time. Man does it feel good!!!

Contreras does seem to be more clutch as far as trust. He simply isn't good enough as a middle of the order bat....no fear. Andruw Monasterio has a higher OPS than Contreras and has nearly as many XBH in 40% of the ABs. Hitters I trust includes Contreras but he isn't middle of order bat in a good lineup. Yelich and him should be hitting 6, 7. I think I trust Mitchell more than them and have Chourio and Turang atop my trust board. Chourio seems to lock in when it matters but agree he does swing a lot out of the zone.

That's what I am more concerned with as well. Miz hasn't even pitched a full year in the bigs yet. I haven't heard really anyone mentioning anything on innings really. His career high isn't even 130 and he's over 90 innings right now. So, he's on pace for about 190 innings-plus at this rate. I think the Brewers will have to go to a 6-man rotation or push Miz back a day as they've done a bit here. I would hate for him to already have a career high in innings with like two months of the regular season left. I hope he doesn't overcompensate in that regard and that's when injuries occur. Also, I doubt there is any thought of shutting him down like that Nats did with Strasburg a decade ago. What was it like 160 or 180 innings?

I know he isn't on the 40-man roster but goodness, I think Eddys Leonard deserves a chance to see if he can continue to hit in the big leagues. He isn't part of future plans really, so if he doesn't come up and hit, really no harm done and could pivot to Jett or Pratt then after a month or so of ABs for Leonard. Could DFA Carlos Rodriguez as I don't think he makes it past this season anyway, has an ERA north of 8 in Nashville. We are 6+ weeks into the season and Leonard has an OPS above 1.000

I don't think Collins is a great player but a serviceable guy who can play a starter role. I don't love trading for a relief pitcher for a (nearly) everyday, controllable position player (plus a reliever in Mears). I just think can get more than a RP for a starting position player. Just don't love that value. Can it work out sometimes? Sure.

It is because they needed length and guys to eat innings out of the pen. Pen worn down and pen was used a lot.

Marquette stinks. Doesn't help the bigs are pretty horrendous. Hamilton is awful and Gold is Charmin sawft.

I am personally surprised how many of you would trade multiple top prospects for Buxton. I am not clutching them but Buxton just isn't who I'd move a number of them for. As said earlier, I think to get off his salary the Twins would move him for much less than mentioned. No way Pena or Made. Even Pratt imo. However, if Ryan is included the package takes a dramatic increase and it's probably Pratt, Henderson, Boeve, maybe another lower prospect as well.

Chourio has already shown he is not afraid of the big moment. Against the Dodgers, he is about the only regular who looks like he has a clue and hitting the ball hard.

Yeah I think maybe a UTIL infielder type like Regnifo or Castro or something. Then a reliever on cheap maybe a vet starter for cheap are about the only deals for FA.

Yeah I think the changes would be next year. I mean Ortiz OPS is under .600. The worst qualified hitter in MLB. So even 12 OAA isn't making up for that lol. I do think it's too late for drastic changes as this team has won 92 games now with 11 to go. I would, though, think if Turang can move to SS, Collins could play 2B and Durbin 3B or sign someone and have Ortiz be UTIL potentially next year. I thought Durbin would just be a good UTIL, he has shown he can be much more imo and likely could make a jump next year. I wouldn't be surprised by a Regnifo or cheap signing as a LHH option on the inf.
