Box: Brisbane wins, 3-0, to move to 6-4 on the season. Their disastrous 0-3 start (outscored 25-2) is now just a memory. 1B Tayden Hall (stats thru 34 AB's) 0-for-5, one K. He remains entrenched in the cleanup spot. It looked like the Bandits would continue to score in the 7th. Fritsch got his fourth knock of the series off Aces lefty Evan Rutckyj, followed by a Pineda walk. But when the scuffling Tayden Hall ripped the first pitch from Rutckyj back up the middle, the lefty made a see-it-to-believe-it play, catching the liner behind his back, doubling up Fritsch on second and nearly turning a triple play. Campbell flew out to end the inning. RH reliever Sam Gardner (visit the same stat page) continues his ridiculous pace. Inheriting one runner on second base, Gardner retired all seven men he faced (groundout to end the inning he entered) and fanned four of them. Gardner has now allowed just three baserunners over 7.1 scoreless IP (four appearances, one hit, two walks) while 18 of his 22 outs recorded have been via the strikeout. -

Does Wiemer still have six years of team control before free agency since he did not play a full season at the big league level in 2023? -

Those higher profile moves are only a fraction of the changes in the front office directory, which the Brewers tend to update monthly or so. We will detail the changes in the directory between the October 27th edition and the current listing of November 8th. First, some points to be made. We will focus on the baseball side of the directory rather than the business side. So, nothing personal towards those in Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, and at least ten other departments listed at the link above. Many within these areas received new titles, surely well-earned in the view of Brewers' leadership. Second, and importantly, when we note departures, remember we don't know the reasons behind those departures. Never assume a termination. Like any corporate environment, retirements happen and associates are leaving for new opportunities, some of which we detail below. Also, regarding any departure, we mustn't assume there won't be a backfill. The directory does not list open positions. From an on-the-field perspective, while player development staff members are listed within the directory in various roles, keep in mind that managers, coaches, trainers/strength staff, whether on the big league or minor league level, are not. The organization will release those full updated rosters at some point this winter. You are invited to review the scope of the directory link. While there are certainly highly compensated executives within, it's the sheer volume of names (and their associated salaries) across the full spectrum of the organization that can give a fan an appreciation of the cumulative salaries, benefit plans, etc., associated with maximizing both the player development process and the fan experience. Of course, the fan will spend more time musing on how much the newest utility infielder's salary will be. With that being said, here are the updates. If a name is not listed below, it simply means they hold the same title as they had a month earlier. Some of these titles are lengthy - in some cases, the title change is very subtle - so apologies in advance if your eyes strain! Australian Baseball League - 2023/2024
Jim Goulart replied to Ro Mueller's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
Brisbane wins their latest with a come-from-behind (five runs in the bottom of the 8th) 8-6 win. RH reliever Sam Gardner threw a scoreless top of the 8th, maintaining his 0.00 ERA through five innings this ABL season. However, two batters managed to put a ball in play, the first ones to do so, with Gardner allowing his first hit (a single) and walking one. Gardner also fanned two, so of the 15 outs he has recorded, 14 have been via a strikeout. 1B Tayden Hall continues to start and bat cleanup, he walked and then the LH bat had a pop-up single that fell behind third base in the critical 8th frame (the game summary indicated Hall finally had a stroke of luck). He’s now batting .231 (6-for-26) with a fine .355 OBP. Hall put his 20-year-old legs to excellent use scoring from first base with a just-in-time slide here: -

Tuesday 11/21: Via the new "Cream City Pod" with BrewerFanatic's own Spencer Michaelis: "Gunner and Spencer break down what Brandon Woodruff meant to the franchise and why the Brewers made the decision that they did. They also discussed the possibility of a Burnes trade and some of Burnes' recent comments about extensions and more (Spencer rants during this portion, in case that interests you). They talked about the Jake Bauers trade, and also mentioned some potential trade candidates the Brewers could be interested in." Via 97.3's "Brewing the Offseason" - "Tim Allen and Jeff Orloski react to the Brewers releasing Brandon Woodruff, look back at the best moments from 2023, and more!" Via the "Barrel Banter Podcast": "The Brewers have had as busy an offseason as anyone. Today we take a look at each of their moves over the past two weeks, including: - Hiring Murphy and Weeks - Non-tendering Woodruff and Rowdy - Trading Robert Moore and Hendry Mendez for Oliver Dunn - Trading Abraham Toro for Chad Patrick - Trading Jace Avina and Brian Sanchez for Jake Bauers We then talk about what we're thankful for as Brewers' fans - the roof, Bob Kozlowski, a recent run of success (and more)." -

Over after 15 games, the numbers speak for themselves, even if you don't translate. But if the translate is accurate: "In his words, last year he became a better hitter, this year he broke the league". I'm guessing he was a bit more humble.
