  1. Transactions: Nashville Sounds activated RHP Will Childers from the 7-day injured list. Nashville Sounds transferred CF Jordyn Adams to the Development List. Biloxi Shuckers activated C Edgardo Ordonez from the Development List. DSL Brewers Gold released RHP Albert Vargas. We touched on Vargas' brief Brewers career here. Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Nashville 6, Durham (Rays) 3 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds, game details, and we encourage readers to always review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Four-Run Sixth Fuels Sounds 6-3 Victory Against Bulls - Hardin Earns First Career Triple-A Win Saturday Night Three video clips within that linked summary. Repeating from the summary - "HARD-WIN: Tyson Hardin earned his first career Triple-A win in Saturday night's 6-3 victory over the Durham Bulls, posting 5.2 innings of work, allowing a run on four hits and punching out seven Bulls batters. Prior to Saturday's win, Hardin made his first career Triple-A start for the Sounds at First Horizon Park last Sunday and posted a seven-inning quality start against the I-Cubs." LHP Rob Zastryzny retired the lone man he faced to end the 6th (lineout to 3rd base). There was no one on base, Hardin had just exited at 83 pitches. That's back-to-back appearances for Rob Z. in what may have been his final test before MLB activation Monday. Speaking of southpaw relievers, I'm counting Brian Fitzpatrick's spring training innings in big league camp (he wasn't even a camp invite) because that's where he initiated his mark on big-league coaching eyes this spring. So, for 2026, it's one earned run allowed in 24.2 IP, 26 K's, 7 BB. Not counting Rob Z., five other relievers appeared as your box score review showed. Not used among true relievers: Bowman, Bukauskas, Fernandez, Knehr, McGee. That's just to point out that Manager Rick Sweet's current mix of arms is very long on bullpen types. Southpaw Thomas Pannone makes his 2nd start of the series on traditional four days' rest on Sunday, he allowed four runs in four innings Tuesday (an eventual 6-5 Nashville win). I'm of the opinion that a box score can be appreciated a bit more by noting who didn't play - for this night, it was Eddys Leonard, Akil Baddoo, Jeferson Quero and Freddy Zamora with a bench view of the contest. Luis Lara, what can we say? Now, his base hit was an infield single (74.8 MPH) and his sacrifice fly was a "get-the-job-done" variety flyout at 84 MPH, but he also walked twice. Add it all up and his OPS rose from .945 to .949. All nine Nashville knocks were singles, two belonged to Cooper Pratt and one to Jett Williams, for all you big-league roster tracking hopefuls. Each of the two youngsters struck out twice, part of 16 on the night for Sounds batsmen. Williams played center field here, with Ethan Murray making his 6th start at third base. Catch up with the latest Biloxi pre-game audio interview archives - Manager Mike Guerrero's chat from last night just added Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final, completion of Thursday's suspended game: Biloxi 7, Birmingham (White Sox) 6, 11 innings Box Score and Game Log All-Around Effort Leads Shuckers to Sweep over Barons - Made records second walk-off, goes back-to-back with Burke, DeBerry continues dominance I invite you to revisit all the details my co-worker Daniel provided in his Friday morning review of the first 10+ innings of this game. Pulled from the game summary above: "The first two batters for Biloxi were retired in the home half of the 11th until Jheremy Vargas picked up an infield single, Dylan O’Rae scored the automatic runner Darrien Miller on a base hit to bring the game within one, and Jesús Made delivered the dagger with a 2-RBI hit for his second walk-off knock in three games." That tells me that Jheremy Vargas (pinch-hitting for Eric Brown, Jr.) gets co-game MVP, it was do-or-die to keep things alive. Same goes for Dylan O'Rae, though his RBI base hit is no longer archived. What is archived, that would be Jesus Made's two-run walk-off, here's the traditional view and as for the field level: Final, regularly scheduled game: Biloxi 7, Birmingham 4 Box Score and Game Log MiLB kept this as a nine-inning affair, as they should have. Sometimes these nightcaps after suspended games are cut to seven frames, but Game One was deep in. Always fun to see a 2016 Brandon Woodruff reference in the game summary, be sure you catch that! Whether you're a fan of the "X" platform of simply tolerate it, you're asked to visit the Shuckers' feed for more Jesús Made (including a Shohei Ohtani reference), a bunch of Blake Burke (say that three times fast), even more Cameron Wagoner references beyond what we're posting below, and "on-fire Elmo". Did we mention you'll find the Made-Burke back-to-back blasts there, though this particular Made HR may not quite qualify as a "blast". Mike Boeve's sacrifice fly can be viewed here. Right fielder Damon Keith turns 26 on Thursday and continues to push for his AAA debut with a double and two singles, OPS .925 (.305/.383/.542). Made is now 18-for-23 in SB attempts, Blake Burke 13-for-17. However, as the Shuckers were seeking insurance runs in the 8th, it wasn't the best inning on the basepaths for the dynamic pair. The game log will fill you in. By the way, this was a particularly strong and entertaining night for our "as it happens" Minor League Forum thread - often the case during a big-league Brewers blowout loss. And yes, starter Jaron DeBerry had a fantastic night. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes (download link) Final: Wisconsin 11, Great Lakes (Dodgers) 4 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers, game details: Wisconsin Scores Early and Late to Get by Great Lakes - Fischer homers and drives in three for Rattlers Chris Mehring's summary linked above is packed not only with four video clips but all kinds of tidbits worth your while beyond the game action. The MiLB highlight clips that are saved within the "VIDEO" sub-header of any linked box score are awesome. You get chronological order of all the action, both teams, ad-free, one convenient spot. It's a tremendous benefit to fans. By checking out the opponent's highlights as well, you can catch some of the mistake pitches from the Brewers arms, or perhaps they were beaten on a play regardless of a well-placed pitch. Plus, this is worth noting - this was a road game, so all the audio from those clips is from the home team perspective, and on a night like Saturday, what fun is that? So, as you watched the game summary videos in Chris' report, we get his calls. That takes some coordination and effort, and whether that's Chris himself or someone back in Appleton, it's appreciated. Here's the one highlight not within the game summary: Braylon Payne was idle for a second consecutive game, and yes, we're guilty of reading too much into such things. Eric Bitonti and Marco Dinges were among the bench players here, scheduled days off, though we're still hopeful to see Dinges defensively behind the plate again by Tuesday, it's been an extended stretch of DH-games only for him. Josh Adamczewski singled but also walked four times. He turned 21 literally two weeks ago and he's now flashing a .325/.456/.581 line (1.037 OPS). My goodness, this Brewers system is beyond ridiculous. A bit of perspective - yes, the defensive value differs, but the Tigers' Kevin McGonigle's 2025 line which included the Midwest League and also 46 games of AA action was .305/.408/.583, as Biloxi certainly awaits Adamczewski. Only on a roster with beast-mode Andrew Fischer, an anticipated exciting return of Luis Pena, and Adamczewski would Josiah Ragsdale's season be undersold. Check out his May splits! By the way, switch-hitting INF/OF Luiyin Alastre since re-joining Wisconsin April 28th (16 games): .282/.462/.462 (.924 OPS). T-Rat arms with a very mixed bag: 10 walks, 12 strikeouts, two wild pitches and a 3.00 ERA plus the "W" on the night. Your box score review will fill you in. Postponed, rain: Delmarva (Orioles) at Wilson Doubleheader Sunday starting at 11:05 Central. Final: ACL Padres 4, ACL Brewers 2, seven innings as scheduled Box Score and Game Log Luis Pena squeezed a bunch more into the shortened game, including his first defensive action at shortstop. 92.5 MPH ground ball single to LF in the 1st. Stole 2nd base, thrown out at 3rd base. Side note - we see caught stealing's at 3rd base when there's already two men out, like, all the time, especially at the lower levels. It's all about the attempt repetition and not the situational awareness. Pena would strike out swinging in his next two at-bats. Pena led off the bottom of the 7th - doubles on a ground ball to shortstop, deflected by the third baseman. Pena lifted for a pinch-runner at this point, no mention of an injury delay. The A-Crew managed only five hits but drew nine free passes (8 BB's, 1 HBP). That all led to an 0-for-11 afternoon with RISP, ugh. 18-year-old infielder Moises Polanco (turns 19 in six days) has only played in seven games but is making the most of his time. He reached in all three trips here and sports a pretty .450/.593/.600 line (1.193 OPS). Polanco is coming off a darn fine repeat DSL season where he OPS'd .853. Please find more playing time, thanks. RH starter Hayden Robinson pitched on four days' rest and though he's allowed a home run in each of his three mound efforts thus far, this was better work than Tuesday's. The better bounce back effort was by 18-year-old Nicaraguan RHP Diustin Mayorquin, who was surprisingly touched up one week ago exactly. And yes, remember the name (posts are from earlier this month): Five games on tap for Sunday with the Wilson double dip. Maryvale boys working on their Sunday golf games as is the norm. Blessings and sincere appreciation to the families of those who lost those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 2. Josh Knoth consistent at 95 MPH on his 4-seam, occasional 96. Cutter at 90, slider 88.
  3. Yes that should have said Luis, I correctly typed that in four locations but mis-typed that one instance. Little available video-wise from Knoth from this road game outside of this one pitch. Despite that miscue on the highlight, the run was earned because a subsequent ground rule double would have scored the run regardless. Knoth’s line from the box score - 2 IP, 2 H (one the double), 1 R, 2 BB, 2 K, half his 48 pitches for strikes. Knoth’s final out in his second inning came via a baserunner being caught attempting to steal. I am reporting on six games for tonight’s report but will find time to pull up the archive to get a few speed gun readings for folks later on.
  4. DSL Brewers Gold released RHP Albert Vargas Vargas turned 20 years old this past Monday. A native of Venezuela, he had only signed in April of last year, not as part of the January 2025 signing class. The linked player page above documents his general struggles over 15 relief appearances in 2025. We'll give him a shoutout and wish him well by spotlighting his career-best performance last July 26th.

  10. Image courtesy of BrewerFanatic Transactions: SS Luis Pena sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers RHP Luke Roupe activated from ACL Brewers’ 7-day injured list Welcome back and all seems well for Luis Pena - more on his night in the game section for Maryvale to conclude this report. The Brewers were always going to be extra-cautious after the April 22nd incident in which Pena lost consciousness, and yes, a full month had passed since that date. One can imagine the number of tests that have been run and the amount of monitoring to have taken place since. Luke Roupe, drafted in the 17th round last summer out of a North Carolina high school, had his professional debut delayed a bit, but he joined Pena on the field Friday night. We hope you'll catch up on the entire system before sneaking down to the bottom of this report . Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Nashville 6, Durham (Rays) 5 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds, game details, and we encourage readers to always review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Shut Down Bulls' Late Rally for 6-5 Win - Knehr Improves to 3-0 and Fernández Earns First Save of Season The videos embedded in that report include the big RBI knocks from Jeferson Quero and Brock Wilken. Among the other run-scoring plays described in the linked summary are these, which can be viewed as follows: Luis Lara forceout Luis Matos single Also from the summary: "Nashville's 3.41 ERA in bounce back games is tied for the best in the International League with Omaha." ERA in bounce back games? Like, who tracks that? Baseball allows for a wonderful spectrum of analysis, doesn't it... In his two prior appearances, RHP Garrett Stallings started and worked 12.2 scoreless innings with only two walks. On the surface, it seems he would still be needed in a starting role, but he came up big in the 8th here: The Nashville rotation may be the most in-flux thing in all of the Brewers system, understandable given the vagaries of the Sounds-Brewers mound relationship (certainly paying off at the big-league level). If Stallings is temporarily back in the pen, you've got Friday's starter Coleman Crow (88 pitches to get through 4.1 innings, 3 ER), plus RHP Tyson Hardin (one start since his call-up from Biloxi), LHP Thomas Pannone, and seemingly struggling RHP Carlos Rodriguez, who has worked in long relief as of late, comprising part of the Sounds' rotation, along with any rehab efforts from Quinn Priester. Yet the club has won 10-of-11 games! LHP Rob Zastryzny's latest rehab stint began on May 14th. Not a lot of room in the MLB pen, and Rob Z. has been lights-out in four appearances since: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. How long will he be strung along before activation? Nashville drew ten walks, so the number of times players were on base was significant: Wilken 4, Matos and Greg Jones 3, Cooper Pratt, Luis Lara, Jeferson Quero twice each. Whenever Luis Rengifo has a miserable MLB night (as he did Friday), we glance Jett Williams way - 0-for-5 here, one K. Postponed, rain: Birmingham (White Sox) at Biloxi Catch up with the latest Biloxi pre-game audio interview archives The teams are still trying to complete the 11th inning (and possibly beyond) of their Thursday game (box score), discussed in Daniel's fine Link Report yesterday. As of right now, Friday's game is not scheduled as a make-up (yet), as Sunday is still listed as a single game. We wonder if the game will be made up in Birmingham with Biloxi as the home team during the June 9th - 14th series. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes (download link) Final: Great Lakes (Dodgers) 13, Wisconsin 4 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers, game details: Unlucky Thirteen for Wisconsin at Great Lakes Chris Mehring squeezed videos of Andrew Fischer's early-game home run and Josh Adamczewski's late-game double into his report linked above. Also, early in the game this defensive play occurred: Adamczewski walked twice in addition to his two-bagger. We're 33 games into his season, and he's still sporting an incredible 1.024 OPS (.322/.441/.583). Young Josh also stole his 7th base in eight tries. Our swooning continues. CF Josiah Ragsdale singled three times, fanned in the other two plate appearances. The K rate is high at 28.2%, but he's also walking in 19.3% of his plate appearances for a .417 OBP. Night off for Braylon Payne. RHP Travis Smith was very solid in five of six swing-role outings to begin his season. In his most recent appearance before Friday, he did allow four runs in a five-inning start with five walks, so that was a bit of a stumble, but not a blow-up. Unfortunate that his outing here went very sideways, but kudos to Jack Seppings for saving the bullpen in what could have turned into another game in which a T-Rat position player was needed on the mound. There is "lowlights" video available from the local news outlet. Wilson Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Wilson 7, Delmarva (Orioles) 2 Box Score and Game Log Wilson Pitching Stifles Shorebirds; Big Eighth Secures Victory - Warbirds Don't Allow an Earned Run in Win Check out 18-year-old Brady Ebel's April vs. May splits, then admire: Ebel also doubled and singled, such a promising turnaround - it's so easy to focus on early numbers because they're the only figures we have at the time, lesson for us all. Wow, Jarrett Bonet, and the Brewers' Organizational Pitcher of the Month for April's line of 6.1 scoreless innings, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 HBP, 6 K, 93 pitches included this: DH Jadyn Fielder walked three times to lift his OBP to .412. The Warbirds were handed (or better said, earned) ten free passes. Final: ACL Brewers 8, ACL White Sox 6 Box Score and Game Log Juan Pena's evening, not surprisingly in the designated hitter role for his first game back: Walked on five pitches after getting up in the count 3-0 Stole 2nd base Advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch Scored on the front-end of a double steal with OF Kenny Fenelon Walked (again) on five pitches after getting up in the count 3-0 Advanced to second base when Brailyn Antunez was HBP, then stranded Sent a 77 MPH grounder to 3rd base, reached on an error Advanced to second on a Fenelon walk Scored on a two-out CJ Hughes 96.8 MPH line single to right Leading off the 6th, Pena is hit by a pitch, remains in the game, does not advance Is pinch-hit for in the 8th, seemingly unrelated to the HBP You'll also be able to track Luke Roupe's pro debut via the top of the 1st game log. Only 16 pitches thrown, five batters faced, two outs secured, one run allowed, and a shoutout to catcher Freider Rojas for nabbing a baserunner at 2nd to end the inning after Roupe's exit. The A-Crew trailed 3-2 heading to the bottom of the 4th before rallying for three runs, some of which described in the Pena recap above. Utilityman Roderick Flores doubled in a run to tie the game. Flores has seen very limited action, but has contributed in all five games he's played, all at first base here in 2026, four of eight hits the XBH variety, 1.363 OPS (.727 OPS in his first Maryvale season last summer). Flores, a right-handed bat, then homered in the 5th, but it wasn't your garden variety. He pulled a 96.7 MPH ball to left field but circled the bases when White Sox left fielder Christian Gonzalez (not currently in Pipeline's Chisox Top 30) suffered an injury that forced him to leave the game, hopefully will be OK. A Fenelon RBI triple and Hughes RBI single capped the scoring in the 8th, set up by opposition errors to break the 6-6 tie. 20-year-old Venezuelan RHP Ismael Yanez is the designated closer and did his job here. Earlier in the game, 20-year-old Dominican RHP Cesar Espinal stranded two runners for Roupe, and added a quiet frame of his own, fanning three total. RHP's Caleb Nieman and Hayden Vucinovich surrendered runs but each managed three innings of contributions. Stud RF Alexander Frias last played on Tuesday, now missing two games since his mid-game exit on that day, no apparent reason. Standard Saturday day game for Maryvale, we'll see if Luis Pena plays on the quick turnaround time. 12. Marco Dinges hasn’t played catcher since exiting the May 5th contest early (9th straight as DH). Friday marked game #10 as DH-only. Any insights into what the organization is monitoring?
  13. Player has likely been in Maryvale working with training staff there who are most familiar where the player is in the rehab process, and are best suited to monitor the player's return to action and to see how the body responds.
  14. Catch up on five recent Shuckers interviews via the archive page link:
  15. OF Mark Coley exited in the 4th inning after fielding a double in right field, so we’ll have to monitor his availability. *** MiLB goofed up on the game archive of this suspended contest, as if they had written over the original copy, a la the old VHS days, so for once, my paid subscription won't assist with more analysis here.
  16. It's likely too early for ARobs to join in here, although LHP Tate Kuehner's 7-day IL stint did become official. Wednesday's Nashville game archive for those with subscription rights Regarding Kuehner's 3rd inning exit, go to the 01:56:00 hour/minute mark. Kuehner walks a man, time for a catcher visit, but he's trying to get comfortable, kind of shimmying his shoulder, making some telling facial reactions. Then allows a lined RBI base-hit on a 1-0 count. Makes three more pitches to old friend Raynel Delgado, then calls the training staff to the mound. They quickly call it a night. Difficult to discern to be honest, it's an upper body issue, and seemingly left side of the southpaw's torso. Could be anything from shoulder to side.
  17. Make room in your weekend for the two most recent @Spencer Michaelis "Minor League Sandboxes" - start times are approximate, you can locate on Spotify as well, Apple Podcasts here: 5/15 - 01:38:00 hour/minute mark 5/22 - 01:26:00 hour/minute mark As always, enjoy the latest 5/22 full pod with Jack & Spencer, even if you initially skip forward to the sandbox!
  18. It’s been a struggle for LHP Justin Chambers (20th round 2023, $547,500, then recovering from Tommy John, quickly traded to Dodgers in Bryan Hudson deal). Faced the T-Rats Thursday.
  19. A deep cut alumnus we’ve been following for years, lost in the 2019 Minor League Rule 5 phase to the Giants and a circuitous path since. What a story and coming to Milwaukee on Monday!

  21. From the tail end of Monday's Link Report: "Both the Sounds and Timber Rattlers play at 10:05 Central on Tuesday, so I'll be sampling some Jeff Hem and Chris Mehring during my four-hour drive to a New Hampshire getaway" This was wild. I jumped on board just in time for the final two innings of the T-Rats drama, and then immediately transitioned to the hold-your-breath 9th inning with Nashville. A wonderfully entertaining 45 minutes or so, though I'm guessing I was the only person in the White Mountains to pull up Chris' and Jeff's calls today. Sounded great, guys!
  22. Pretty sure he meant why is he pitching so poorly…
