This post will be linked to within today's formal Link Report from Ben, which he has already prepared: Brock Wilken, Tyler Black Record First Multi-Slam Game in Sounds History Luis Lara Sets Career-High with Five Hits NASHVILLE - The Nashville Sounds opened the second half of the 2026 season with a 12-5 victory over the Gwinnett Stripers Tuesday night at First Horizon Park. Brock Wilken and Tyler Black each hit a grand slam as the Sounds recorded their first game in franchise history with multiple slams. The 15-hit night at the plate also included a career-high for Brewers no. 5-rated prospect Luis Lara, who went 5-for-5, and notched the first 5-hit game for a Nashville player since 2023. Nashville got on the board in the bottom of the opening frame as back-to-back singles by Jett Williams and Lara put runners at the corners. Black recorded the first of his career-high five RBI on a sac fly that pushed Williams across. Left-hander Thomas Pannone got the start for the Sounds and worked through four frames, stranding five on base. He allowed three hits, walked five and struck out three Stripers hitters along the way. In the bottom of the third inning, the Sounds capitalized on the first of three Stripers errors with a two-out RBI single by Lara, who drove in Eddys Leonard to make it 2-0. In the top of the fifth, the Stripers began to deal damage against Pannone, allowing four runs to score off three hits and a fielder's choice giving Gwinnett the 4-2 lead. Pannone ended his night after pitching to four batters in the inning before Gerson Garabito entered the game in the top of the fifth, allowing a hit and striking out one in two innings of work. Three straight singles to start the bottom of the sixth loaded the bases for Wilken. The Brewers no. 11-rated prospect didn't flinch after falling behind in the count 0-2. He jumped on a middle-middle cutter mistake by Victor Mederos and pushed Nashville back in front 6-4. Leonard followed with a single for the fifth straight hit of the inning before the Stripers finally got their first out of the frame. Lara then doubled home Leonard for his fourth hit of the night to give the Sounds a 3-run lead. Drew Rom made his first relief appearance for the Sounds since June 3 when he entered in the top of the seventh inning. Following a strikeout of the first batter he faced, the southpaw saw three straight Gwinnett batters reach to load the bases. His lone run allowed came via a sacrifice fly to draw Gwinnett within two - the closest they would get the rest of the way. The Sounds blew the game wide open in the bottom of the eighth inning, pushing five runs across for the second time on Tuesday night. Walks for Wilken and Williams sent Lara to the plate who once again loaded the bases with his career-best fifth hit. Black promptly cleared the bases with his second career grand slam as the Sounds jumped out to a 11-5 advantage. Two batters later, Quero put the icing on the cake with a solo shot to center field to match a career-high with his fourth hit. Easton McGee took the reins from Rom for the final four outs of the game and worked around two singles to earn his first save of the season in a seven-run win for Nashville after entering the game when the Sounds were up just two runs in the top of the eighth. The Sounds continue a stretch of 12 games in 13 days at home with game two of the six-game series against Gwinnett on Wednesday night. Right-hander Garrett Stallings (3-3, 3.55 ERA) will get the start for Nashville on Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 pm. POSTGAME NOTES: SLAMMIN SOUNDS: Brock Wilken and Tyler Black combined for a franchise first on Tuesday night. The duo became the first pair of Sounds teammates to hit grand slams in the same game; Nashville entered the night with 135 grand slams in team history. Wilken's grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning was his fourth career slam and first that wasn't against the Montgomery Biscuits. He recorded a grand slam against Montgomery in three straight seasons while with Double-A Biloxi from 2023-2025. For Black, it was the second career grand slam and first since June 2, 2024, on the road in Memphis. Black is the 22nd Nashville player to record multiple grand slams during their Sounds Tenure, joining Eddys Leonard and Akil Baddoo who each have hit two grand slams for Nashville this season already. The seven home runs hit by the Sounds this season are already the most In any single season in team history, surpassing the six slams the Sounds hit in the 1998 and 2016 seasons. GOT FIVE ON IT: Brewers no. 5-rated prospect Luis Lara set a career-high with five hits on Tuesday night, going 5-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored. He tied the franchise record for hits in a game and is the first Nashville player to record five hits since Abraham Toro did so on July 21, 2023, vs. Jacksonville. Lara is now one of 17 players to post a five-hit game as a Nashville Sound; and just the 18th time it's been done since the Sounds joined the Pacific Coast League in 1998. Erick Almonte is the only Sounds player to record multiple 5-hit games for the Sounds dating back to 1998 when he did so on August 15, 2010, vs. Salt Lake and again on June 6, 2011, at New Orleans. Lara had six previous 4-hit games during his 466-game minor league career, with his last coming on July 9, 2025, with Double-A Biloxi vs. Birmingham. It's just the second time in his 340 career minor league games with four hits. His only other came on May 27, 2025, during a minor league rehab assignment to open the season before joining the Sounds when he went 4-for-5 with a home run, double, and posted four RBI against the ACL Reds. TYLER THE (RUNS) CREATOR: Tyler Black tied his single-game career-high with five RBI on Tuesday night against Gwinnett. It was just his second career game with 5-RBI after also doing so on June 2, 2024, in the only other game of his career with a grand slam. Black joins Luke Adams and Akil Baddoo as Nashville players to record 5+ RBI in a game this season, with all four of 5+ RBI games for Nashville this season coming in the last six games.

On Monday, their only available bench player was C/1B Eric Martinez, who had just made his way down from Nashville, where he essentially served as the bullpen catcher. Outfielder Kenny Fenelon was listed as available, but last played on Tuesday the 16th, a game he left early. The other listed player was Alexander Frias, on his way to Wilson.

If one of those "high" ankle sprains, a more significant rehab process. Of course, we don't have the definitive word. Though I've never seen someone suffer an Achilles tear without going to the ground, so in a way, that was promising at the time.

Starting 20-year old LHP Joey Broughton followed up his scoreless Tuesday start with a solid first inning here (3 Ks, 2 singles, 0 runs), but exited immediately after that frame. Hopefully it was a planned short outing, but we’ll have to watch his status. Checked out the archive, Enderson Mercado was warming during the first inning, and was not given unlimited warmups to start the 10th, seemingly indicating that it was a planned one-inning outing for Broughton.
