If we are moving Freddy to NYY in a Gil trade, Elmer Rodriguez HAS to be in the deal. The third or potentially fourth pieces can waver more but he has to come with Gil at a minimum.
Just in getting a pulse from other fan bases, Orioles fans seem to think Mayo:Povich/Mountcastle/top 5 prospect is fair for Peralta. Which led me to wondering if Beavers/Mayo/Povich for Freddy could be realistic.
You are correct. He is in a different category than I thought when quickly looking at his numbers (don’t watch AL baseball at all really).
I am wondering if Peralta is between Boston (Duran) and NYM (Sproat) with the balance being what else is added where?
Duran is a little better than Frelick. And not brewer-style cheap the next three years. If I do that new betting site that’s out there where you can bet on anything, I’d bet that the Brewers would get a little bit more vs Boston getting a little bit more in a Duran Peralta trade. That said, I think Peralta goes to the Mets for Sproat and Jett Williams in the next three weeks .
Do posters here think the brewers would accept Jett Williams and Sproat for Peralta? My current thinking is that Sproat is agreed upon but we want another 50-100 prospect and I could see us focused on Williams and his potential versatility, speed, etc. Is that enough to get it done?
If we can get two of Benge, Tong, Sproat, Williams for Freddy (Mets can pick any duo they wish), then we gotta do the deal. Apparently they want to trade for a top starter rather than sign one as well.
If you moderate closely enough, you’ll see an instigator every single time that isn’t me. And you warned me once (for no reason) with zero respect. I’ll keep doing what I think are good posts and only confront when a yahoo confronts me. Beyond that, let’s just agree to disagree on how the forum is being policed. I enjoy talking brewers even if there is some things I feel are too shoddy in the forums.
Is “douche” more acceptable than “Grandpa” for warning purposes mods? Am I not in the “Good Ol’ Boys Club” here that you let Turbo in? Let me know if there is consistency with your warnings/calling out of posters as you “govern” this site.
Yeah, there is a zero percent chance the brewers add anything on top of Freddy for Duran. I’d be surprised if they did straight up too. If that’s the best out there, we happily. (And I mean that) keep him for his contract year and take the first round comp pick.
The Oompa Loompas are gonna be surprised by the quality of the players we get for Peralta (whether these are the names involved or not). Let’s wait and see.
Pratt I might be willing to do. I think I’d keep Pena and Made in the organization if at all possible. But Freddy and Pratt for Duran and Bello seems realistic (maybe a bullpen arm like Koenig is added by us if needed).
Endaround, I love your low key hyperbole every single post. Yep, that sure as heck fire would both start and end a conversation with a signed and sealed acceptance from the Boston end for your “idea”
Is there any reason we shouldn’t get both Tong and Sproat if we deal the Mets both Peralta and Megill. Mets are desperate for a stud mate to pare with Dev in the late innings and obviously the Mets know they will resign Freddy when trading for him.
