    Duran for Peralta straight up isn’t happening from the brewers side. But we could put together a Shane Baz type package if they want to get future value and clear room in their outfield (something like Adams, Letson, Meccage for Duran).

    Im wanting Mitch Garver for what his bat could be on a cheap deal with a rebound to his Texas bat days ideally forthcoming. Contreras hates DH’ing anyway and plays most days. In the event he goes down, Quero is in AAA ready to handle the everyday duties.

    I’ll take Wiemer back on a Urias type deal, but it might work out similarly where he never plays for the big league team again.

    Beavers and the comp pick would assuredly be two pieces in a Peralta O’s deal but I haven’t seen a third piece that excites enough yet. I’d pick Mayo over Gibson for instance but agree Mayo “might” not fit our roster construction. Need to find a stronger third piece than Gibson though or just keep Peralta/don’t deal with Baltimore.

    No doubt he was being facetious. Also no doubt Frelick is closer to Braun than Collins, so in being facetious he also did make the more accurate comparison.

    Rather get Mayo, Beavers, Comp pick for Freddy. We don’t need to get a pitcher back every single bigger trade we do (though we should in the high majority of deals we make where we send out pitching).

    Id be disappointed in Duran for Peralta straight up. Peralta could start a game seven comfortably while Duran is a non all star in the outfield that helps us but not enough to offset what Peralta can bring the team.

    For some reason I’m seeing Turang in a big market making 100+ million guaranteed after his sixth year here. Being on Team USA with all stars all around him might add to his attractiveness elsewhere as well. I am going to enjoy the next three years of Turang but would be super happy if we can just go the Adames/comp pick route with him.

    Mets signed Polanco to add to their infield mix after adding Marcus Semien. There is a reported “rift” between Soto and Lindor. This is the “big” move a handful of posters are seeking that we should pursue, I would start my offer at Freddy, Megill, and Ortiz or Collins (their pick) for Lindor and the Mets paying the salary down to where we pay exactly 20 million for the remainder of his contract. Thoughts on putting a call in to stearns for Lindor?

    Durbin helped us a lot this year. And should for at least a good player for us for five more years. But I don’t get why he is such a locked in starter to the brewerfanatic base so much more so than Joey Ortiz. With an infield addition, I’d rather Durbin play the Counsell-as-player role (with a better bat) as I feel Ortiz is the flat out better player both defensively and will be offensively this coming season.

    Well said. We just need to keep positioning ourselves for a bigger bite of the apple. Eventually, a crucial Dodgers injury (for instance) will occur and we will be in the World Series. We aren’t going to have a dynasty in this particular major league sport, so in my opinion we have to have a “reverse baseball dynasty” essentially: That is … have a consistent strong farm system and be in the playoffs 75% of the time or more in my opinion.

    Robert Murray, who probably posts the most accurate brewers info on the web/X, posted that the brewers were only taking calls on Peralta. The way I read it personally, it seemed to come off as “Megill isn’t being traded” and to a lesser extent “th brewers have plans for their cheap reliever with an affordable contract on this next years team”

    You can probably get Cam Smith for Peralta given Fred’s apparent market.

    Is Brice Eldridge for Peralta enough. We’d get the power bat we struggle to develop recently. Maybe we add to the deal to get Whisenhunt too?

    Brice Mathews and Paredes for Peralta I’d do. Deal them Mona to clear the 40 man spot in the deal. Seems fair.

    I was thinking Richie and Fuentes for Peralta alone. I think Braves do this (thinking they can resign him) but unsure if Brewers do it (ultimately I’d lean to saying they would).

    You guys are on to something. Hard as it might be to hear, the best way about it is return Ortiz to SS and watch the bat improve, hope Mitchell can play most of the season, and return the pitching staff while retaining the top 30 prospects.
