  1. I can't say he'd be my first choice. Put him in the field, but let the other pinch hitters bat (other than Rivera).
  2. It's not HIS fault... rather that of the market.
  3. His $4.8MM this year is tolerable, it's the 6.8 and 8.4 he's owed for the next two years that trouble me. Completely agree. I can't help but feel the plateau has already been met. This just feels like another Jenkins contract to me. Am I the only one who sees the similarity? And no, Counsell has not met his salary requirements. But - I don't think anyone expected him to when the deal was signed (where oh where has my Tony gone?). (set off quote with italics 1992)
  4. Got into a discussion before the kids stormed into school today... Bill Hall always seems good for a heck of a highlight reel or some late inning heroics. While the last two nights have been pivotal, does his cumulative efforts justify what he is being paid? Is Billy just another Geoff Jenkins (hot than not), or is he the first of the home grown talent in recent years having been worth signing long term (excluding pitching)? I can't decide...and believe this year will be the one that helps me choose. Thoughts?
  5. and there is you. As a teacher succumbing to summer school, I would love those tickets. Go crew!
  6. Watching ESPN tonight during the Phillies-Red Sox game (I know, I know) the comment was made that C.C. Sabathia has more value in terms of trade than Sheets or Haren. I am well aware of the injuries, but this just doesn't seem right to me. By the way, Sheets was on the right side (end) of the graphic in terms of trade possibility. EDIT: Clarified title -BtA Edit 2: Switched title from Haren to Harden. - Toby Edit 3: Toby's a jerk - BtA
  7. I am generally happy with how Yost has maneuvered a short bench, but still question his use of the bullpen. What I have a hard time stomaching is his post game interviews. He comes off as a real jerk. Today, he was asked about Gross being a lightning rod. He obviously will stand up for his players, but the tone he carried was borderline obnoxious. I saw the same side of him the night Sheets was pulled early. Too much pressure? I love how he backs his squad, but could a blowup be far away?
  8. Words cannot describe how much Damion Easley annoys me. 63-year old infielders shouldn't hit that well against the Brewers. Why do I get the feeling we will be burned by a Casanova?
  9. This game is over. Not a good start to a series where this should be the gimme...
  10. Against the opposition we need to put together some offense this inning...
  11. Seriously, I need a link for the video!
  12. I was seriously hoping to see the video during the game today. I honestly was looking for it during every cut-scene. I am 99.9 percent certain it was slopper, as the video has been burned into my childhood memories from American League Boy Scout romps at County Stadium. Being thirty two and having Atari 2600 to cut my teeth on, the pixilated yellow video of the SLOPPER is one of the memories from my childhood I do not dismiss.
  13. food poisoning - took me out this weekend
  14. well prince said after the win on saturday that he wished that thr fans would stop booing because it is poor I saw that interview and it has stuck with me. I have never seen the Brewers play so well at home and yet get booed. If the fans were following them on the road I could see it, but there is just not enough bad happening at home to cause the negativity.
  15. I take that quote more as non-chalance about his abilities; some people that are really talented can stay modest while still being confident. Hart's self-deprecating sense of humor is pretty normal for the modest type. Corey knows he's good, he just doesn't feel the need to be boastful. If he's going to boast, he should boast about his wife.
  16. If Vargas goes seven we should get this one! Test Post
  17. talk about timing...jenks was ready for that one!
  18. can the ticket sales keep up? we're going on sun...
  19. I'll be suprised a t a victory, but I've been fooled before... let's go!
  20. seriously, without shooting ourselves, we are as good as the nats, which makes me that more mad
  21. why do we love what hurts us so much? I think sheets feels the same!
  22. do we even have a shot at this point?
  23. I love this team too much to be hurt this bad (reminds me of my ex) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif Durrington, time to go
