  1. Are the Giants short staffed? I'm a little surprised they're still running Roupp out there
  2. He and Marmol got into it in that series because during batting practice Marmol said to him "You're probably a 1 bud light guy".
  3. I'll admit that I laughed out loud when Hamilton tried to pull that 3-1 pitch.
  4. Agreed. EV was only about 83MPH but that could have snuck of the line and required a pretty good defensive play. Even that was better than what we've been seeing from him a lot of the time.
  5. Ok you know things are going pretty well when you get an infield hit from Vaughn.
  6. 7 run innings are fun. They should probably do more of them.
  7. the guy in the stupid bobble costume can't get up the stairs.... lol
  8. Giants are damn lucky that wasn't an inside the park HR. Let's go!
  9. Infield in for the Giants in the 2nd says a lot....
  10. Hey! Big hit from Frelick after a great challenge! Let's go!
  11. I mean, Turang put up a great at bat and doubled in the 1st inning.....
  12. It's hard not to be excited about Fischer's power at High A. It's also a little difficult to see his current approach at the plate result in a slow reduction in his strike out rates particularly once he moves up to more advanced pitching at AA and AAA. He's incredibly fun to watch play, as is usually true with any player who is as aggressive as he is both at the plate and in the field (total aside, his eye black application has evolved dramatically this season). But, on Saturday for example, down 8-3, he was still taking massive cuts when what his team needed was baserunners more than anything else. I get that development and not game outcomes are what matters at High A but... I will say that I think he needs to be moved up and that I probably would have liked to see him move up a few weeks ago. I'm not sure there's much additional development happening for him at High A. He needs to see more advanced pitching and find out whether his approach still allows him to access his power, and if not, start to find a more balanced approach is going to be necessary. May numbers include 10 home runs in 89 at bats, 21 walks and 38(!) strikeouts. It was great to see Pena back out there this week at High A. That play from the ground on Saturday was if anything even more impressive in person. He also failed to cover 3B on a ground out to Fischer that forced Fischer to field the ball between 3B and the mound. Pena got caught watching as the opposing runner never stopped at 2B when Pena failed to cover 3B for Fischer. Realizing it too late he sprinted for the bag and brought his glove up to his face presumably to cover his cursing. Lesson learned. So fun to watch these guys in person while they're in Wisconsin.
  13. Might be wish-casting, but I expect to see a callup this week from someone who is going to get regular playing time.
  14. With the short porches in this ballpark I'd probably start him tomorrow.
  15. Really thought Hamilton would go out before Rengifo since Hamilton has an option left but now that Hamilton is a power hitter and Rengifo is trying to give away games with bad throws I don't even know what to think. lol
