  1. Have to put pitches on him. Be nice if he were up over 60 instead of 50.
  2. So Miz and his "**** you, **** you, grab some bench mothef*cker".... might just get the attention of a Contreras tonight. lol
  3. It's been a long time but I have to say... I wouldn't have been mad at them if it had happened, although the brawl that followed (and it would have followed) might have cost us players and games so yeah, keeping your cool is better. Wilson Contreras is a colossal jackass. Always has been.
  4. I was at both of the TRats games yesterday. Never much to add after these detailed summaries (Thanks!) but I very much enjoyed the fact that in Game 1 the whole stadium was (non-sarcastically) cheering for Martinez to throw a strike when he opened the game by throwing 1 strike and 18 balls (not to mention multiple wild pitches). Game 1 was a slog. Game 2 was much crisper (and the strike zone more consistent until late in the game) perhaps because it was even colder and misting heavily for the first 3 innings. There were only a couple of hundred fans left for Game 2 after about 4000 showed up for game 1 and the Frelick jersey giveaway. Payne, Dinges and Bitonti all hit home runs. Dinges, who did not appear in game 1, was pulled after getting hit by a pitch (with a loud pain-driven reaction). He stayed in to run the bases but by the time of his next AB Diaz was in the lineup. The pull from the game was a little concerning after the HBP since he didn't appear in the earlier game and it was opening day, but after Diaz made the third out Dinges popped out of the dugout to warm up the pitcher in the top of the 7th while Diaz put on his gear. When some of the fans (whose inhibitions were, ahem, low after 6 hours at the ballpark and maybe another 2 in the parking lot) called out "Marcooooo" and yelled "you ok?" he turned and gave them a thumbs up before going back into the dugout. (Yes, every time some yelled "Marcooo" in game 2 someone else would yell "Polo".) Always fun at the TRats game even when it's cold as hell.
  5. Good news is the postponed game means that both games tomorrow might be available to non Apple TV subscribers. (I actually really like Apple TV but can't subscribe to everything, so it's out of the rotation currently.)
  6. We're like a week into the season and I'm already pissed off when I have to go two days without Brewers baseball. Get a roof Kansas City!
  7. He managed it pretty well in the end. Just had to struggle a bit and get through it. Learning moment for him hopefully.
  8. I love Turang but he sounds like Nuke Laloosh in interviews. Here's a quote from the interview he did post game on field: "Good things happen when you do things." 🤣
  9. Said it before: I love this site! Even when I'm not all that active, like today, I enjoy reading 95% of what I read in the threads and I learn something from pretty much every article. Only quibble I have is that when I ignore users and other people quote them, they pop up in my feed. Nothing terribly negative today, at least, and the upside here is exponentially higher, in my opinion, than other Brewers fan sites. Always helps when they play well too!
  10. Plus I suspect there's a pretty good chance they made an offer at some point. I just think the odds of a deal now are basically gone. Same with Contreras in all likelihood. I certainly hope both were given offers at some point but with the Brewers approach to budgeting and publicly declaring they lost 20 million on the TV deal this year I just don't see it happening. There's also the small possibility with Turang (and even Contreras) that if the upcoming lockout next year results in broader revenue sharing and a cap (or more likely, something they don't call a cap but has the same effect) that the Brewers hope to be in a position to make another run at him with a deeper pool of resources. And I guess I'm not 100% convinced that Turang is going out the door all that soon the more I think about it. Yes the organizational infield depth looks insanely good right now. But it's inevitable that someone is going to get hurt and miss time. It's inevitable that someone's going to level off (my bet is that Pena turns out to be a slower developer at the upper levels than we first hoped.) Turang still has 3 years of arb left, barring a reduction in years of control under any new CBA. I suspect he'll be a Brewer into 2028 at least. Really going to be interesting watching the Brewers manage their organizational infield depth the next 24 months. They already did something I really didn't expect by extending Pratt.
  11. Mis hasn't been bad by any stretch but I do wonder what his day had been like if if hadn't been for that long break in the middle of an inning. (Hope CB is ok. Just because he's not great at his job and kind of a prick when confronted with that fact doesn't mean I don't feel for anybody dealing with a concussion.)
  12. Maybe it will result in Murphy and Cash laughing together across the diamond about how bad CB is like they did tonight.
  13. Opted to watch the USMNT tonight and was frustrated enough after that to check the Brewers score, see they were down 2-0, and go out for some night sky photography instead of watching the Brewers come back and beat the Rays. Did I mention that clouds rolled in about 10 minutes after I got to dark skies and set my camera? All my choices were bad. 🤣 Go Brewers!
  14. Took the words right out of my mouth (and I didn't see them until i posted almost the exact same thing).
  15. Well that was disappointing. 9th could have been handled better imo, but you literally can't win 'em all.
  16. Man the Rays are annoying. This is why fans of other teams hate watching their guys play the Brewers.
  17. I too find the Pratt extension surprising in part due to timing and, this is speculation, I wonder if the timing might not be the product of other extension offers to discussions not going anywhere. As for Turang, if he was ever open to a team friendly extension that probably ended once the 2025 season began. Maybe it was never going to happen anyway. With the depth they have in the system in the middle infield I doubt they'll make a serious attempt to extend him now. You never know I guess but with a cost controlled SS they obviously love in the system for the next 8 years and a number of guys in the system they can slide to 2B, I just don't see them spending the money. We probably still get to watch Turang through 2027 (assuming there's a season) at a minimum though. As I said, watching the Brewers manage their middle infield embarrassment of riches is going to be pretty damn interesting the next 12 to 24 months. And today I learned that they liked Pratt more than I thought they did.
  18. That was the acquisition that left me a little curious, not that I know better than the Brewers front office does.
  19. Everything just seems to come together when Turang hits/gets on base.
  20. Sure was. He worked through some things early and threw a lot of pitches but that's about everything you could hope for from his first start.
