  1. Hat tip to Yelich and the scouting report on Meyers arm in CF. If he doesn't tag and take 3rd they're probably still playing.
  2. Thank god our power hitters, Chourio and Hamilton, got us back into that one.
  3. Good scouting report too. Meyers arm is pretty bad for a CF.
  4. To the point now where I'm just glad to see Turang make hard contact. Got the job done
  5. And he didn't even point repeatedly at his groin going off the mound!
  6. Not saying your wrong but I just don't see Murphy benching Frelick every day even if Lara is up. His comments on Williams and the lack of history of offensive productivity with Hamilton and Ortiz probably make that a little more likely.
  7. Regardless of that 1 pitch at bat and Astros likely starters the next two days I'd like to see Vaughn get at least one start this series. I know Bauers has been fantastic but Vaughn as a late inning pinch hitter isn't his best usage imo
  8. Well, I didn't have a groundout RBI in mind there but tie game!
  9. I just don't think they're going to do that. Murphy pretty clearly sees him as a clubhouse leader whether he's productive at the plate or not. Assuming they want Lara playing every day it may take an actual injury (not a "you seem injured" injury) before he gets the call. Otherwise he'd come up to take Perkins spot, for example and play maybe twice a week We'll see I guess, but I'll be surprised if the team that gave Ortiz a full season last year pulls the plug on Frelick in late May or early June.
  10. Uribe is up. I'll be pretty surprised if we don't see him at some point tonight.
  11. It honestly looks like he got it in his head this year to swing inside out more often to maximize contact and use his speed. The problem is that it leaves him behind pitches and even when he's on time he's not dropping the head of the bat in the same place in the hitting zone (which is consistent with Trueblood's article/analysis earlier this week), and his swing speed suffers, which robs him of exit velocity. The HR totals last year were pretty clearly outliers. But with an approach similar to last year his BABIP would be nearer his career norms and he'd have a lot more value than he's shown this season thus far.
  12. Was thinking the same thing, and that's if it's not a blown shoulder. Then he's done for the year.
  13. Not arguing. Just guessing what they were looking at
  14. Still think Mitchell beat that tag but it was close enough I get the no challenge.
  15. Hand out to see the replay on a HBP right in the back? Ooooooook.
  16. I mean, a multi-homer night for Hamilton would be hilarious and peak "Baseball!" moment. Just get it in the air to LF and see what happens.
  17. I mean, that LF wall and distance is ridiculous but it's ridiculous for both teams I guess!
