Agreed Garza wasn't the problem Saturday. And we didn't get a chance yesterday to see the reaction to Davies giving up a run! If they keep it up over the next few starts I'll be happy.
The Padres just swept the Reds. A couple weeks ago they swept the Cubs. Their 1-5 are pretty good. What surprises me is that they have a lot of blowout losses - I would have thought maybe one would be v the Brewers. They had an advantage coming in - the Brewers played 4 games in the 3 days beforehand and the Pads played 2 - and then they get 2 extra-inning games.
The Pads announcers said "thank you" on that 1-1 to Szczur. And of course O'Nora has to chase after Sogard after ringing him up on a bad call, the true mark of the hack.
It looked to me like he overran it. Padres announcers say it was a catchable ball and it was. I think everyone in the stadium was surprised when it went out. This clinches the season series - I like the Padres but this is the one besides the Cardinals that's best to get for me.
Even at the sportsbooks? Yep. Guy told us the Dodgers have some weird tv contract. It's not that weird, it's just that Vegas is part of the Dodgers' radio and TV market. For a while it was easier in SD to listen to them on KDWN than the station from LA.
2 earned runs + Aguilar's unearned run = blown save. I don't think you can overlook Aguilar's role in all of this - if he just steps on first there's 2 outs and the tying run doesn't come up and everything is probably fine. That's not my quote. Sorry I was trying to avoid a long multiple quote and messed up.

I was thinking about whether the Brewers had ever had a worse loss and I think this one qualifies: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200809180.shtml
Yep, he's done a nice job with the team, but he completely over thought this one.... or something Steiner and Hershiser were questioning the move even before he gave up the lead.
