  1. Sheets has missed badly a number of times with his fastball away from righties.
  2. The first curveball Sheets threw totally fooled the hitter, was at the waist, a little off center of the plate... and a ball.
  3. Apparently Soto hasn't gotten much better behind the dish.
  4. The fans needed the day off. I know I'm not just speaking for myself when I say it already feels like mid-July. My prediction for the game: it'll go extra innings.
  5. Hall is signed through 2010, with a $9.25 mil team option for 2011. Brewerfan's salary page.
  6. On the Yuku toolbar on the top of the page, click on "Account" next to your user name, then in the "Settings" box click "Preferences" - there's a box called "Per Page Settings" where you can change it.
  7. Zelous Wheeler is #1, but strangely enough Derek Miller is #2 and #4.
  8. The trip hop "scene" is kind of done, though the bigger acts, however loosely affiliated to trip hop as they were, still play big to festival crowds. Check out Red Snapper and Smoke City, too. Edit: and Sneaker Pimps.
  9. IMO, "Dummy" by Portishead, "Maxinquaye" by Tricky and "Protection" (though some would say "Blue Lines" or "Mezzanine") by Massive Attack are the crown jewels of trip-hop. Make sure to pick up Lamb's "Fear of Fours" or their s/t album also.
  10. I don't mean anything disrespectful by this, but you may be the first person in the history of the world to have listened to Tricky and Massive Attack (also putting out an album this year!) but not have listened to Portishead. In the middle-late 90's those three bands were pretty much the ruling troika of trip-hopdom. You'll probably love Portishead's first album "Dummy".
  11. What would happen if a vampire bit a zombie, or vice versa?
  12. That's true. However... http://www.aullidos.com/imagenes/caratulas/gingerdead.jpg
  13. The Box was somehow broadcast in the Twin Cities until around 1999 or so because I remember being utterly confused why I was getting the channel and who this Christina Aguilera person was.
  14. You'd be more likely to hit something with the Hart bat.
  15. Then again if the Brewers plan on taking Manny to the playoffs with them (knock on wood), he'd still be almost maxed out that way. If Parra stays healthy and the Brewers are intent on keeping him in Milwaukee, there's no scenario in which he doesn't go to the pen for at least a month.
  16. I don't know how much of a difference there is between working on defense in AA vs working on defense in AAA. If Gamel earns a promotion with his bat, he'll go to AAA. His bat, however, will not get him to Milwaukee. He has no place to play but 3B right now for the Brewers.
  17. We've played the most day games, our offense sucks, we've played the most extra inning games, no Mike Cameron yet, we've had the most close games, our offense is in the crapper, Yo has started twice, McClung, Ben has missed a start, the roof still leaks, the offense, Gagne has blown 4 saves, our team OPS is only slightly higher than Doug Melvin's IQ, the only sub-.500 team we've played is the Reds, we have intentionally played with 3 guys on the bench, Turnbow, we've been Yosted out of one game and our offense is as bad as I've ever seen it... ...and we're 14-11.
  18. The day they were both drafted, I believe I said that Mat Gamel would be a better major league third baseman than Ryan Braun. Mat's defense, don't fail me now!
  19. Gamel is on pace for roughly half of the errors he committed last year, FWIW.
  20. Everyone is missing the bigger picture: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_111904.jpg We have our CF back!
  21. OK, timeline: -Brewers need to clear a roster spot for a starting pitcher -Brewers decide worst starting pitcher is Bush -Bush is placed on revocable waivers (due to his 3 years of service time, he must be placed on revocable waivers before being optioned) -Other teams look at Bush, and decide a)"if we claim him, the Brewers will pull him back off waivers" and b)"if the Brewers pull him off waivers, they might actually get rid of Turnbow or McClung" -Other teams do not claim Bush -Bush clears waivers -Bush is optioned
  22. Since it's revocable waivers, the Brewers could have just pulled him back and dispatched someone else instead (like McClung, Turnbow I'm looking at you). Heck... you could argue not claiming him hurts the Brewers more than it would help. Well if he does have to clear waivers, that is obviously not going to happen. I have a hard time believing they'd watch him walk away via that route. He already cleared waivers. It did happen. And they wouldn't let him walk away. If he would have been claimed, they would have pulled him off waivers. Hence the term, revocable.
