  1. he doesn't blow you away, but he doesn't give out many walks with a good defense behind him and he always seems composed you need guys like that on a good team. just do the job expected of you
  2. i'm 40. my paternal grandpa died at 75, 37 years ago. i'm glad i'm here because of him, but it would have been nice to have known the guy
  3. so much trouble and hassle for such a stupid sport my 2nd cousin just made his "professional" debut at age 17. parents just bought a 2nd house to be closer to his "academy". what a disgusting culture I get kids trying to escape the 3rd world
  4. why do we continuously have among the best records against +.500 teams then?
  5. I heard that on the radio after work tonight and I thought maybe I was just stupid, but yeah...... not very professional
  6. really happy for joey. he needed that hr. watching MLB app rundown this morning and gosh darn if Wilson Contreras didn't make me hate him a little less. happy for durbin too. seems like he's getting it together. I just like watching ballplayers who actually give an f and give it their all
  7. That was poor from a bases loaded situation but I khunel did for us why does he get the chance he’s awful
  8. it wasn't the grammar. the actual words posted made me worry I had a stroke or something
  9. there's 9 million people in just the Chicago metro area. less than 6 million in the entire state of Wisconsin, many of whom are cubs fans(including Iowa, Indiana). No matter what our GREAT fans do, the cubs fans are going to be able to take over our stadium. It sucks and I hate it, but it's reality. sorry I can't drive 4 hours every week to support the team in person it's like a political debate with people who don't understand "per capita"
  10. I'm not the one with 10 thousand posts of whiny bull I hope you're like 14 years old
  11. yes, in his 2 weeks in the big leagues, it's now an objective truth that he could never be clutch
  12. at least he'll be available to bat in the back half of the game
  13. /thread. shut it down. we can't compete with these guys. what's even the point then?
  14. reason #70 I hate the cardinals is that stupid tunnel right behind home plate. having to watch constant interruptions just over the umpires head. I'm sure it's all you can eat, but good lord. the staff can't keep up with the "fans" shoveling food in their gullets the entire game. I think it was last year, I watched a lady rest an ice cream Sunday on her gut as she ate it I like to see real fans in the background and their reactions to the game. ::edit:: busch doens't have a tunnel, but it's still seems like constant table service in the background. i'll have to think about the stadium that has the tunnel with the middle aged waitress trying to collect herself while there's a 3-2 count pitch coming
  15. how does that work for rich people? I imagine like ol' dirty bas&ard rolling up in a limo for his food stamps lol
  16. it's unbelievable how soft and whiny people are these days. I always assume the mass posters on here do "journalism" for their local high school teams. you know, real insiders to the sport
  17. Miz is going to been on "baseball tonight with buster olney" shortly
  18. I like playing every team, every year. what I don't like is that it leaves gaps in division and in league games that can seem unfair. teams have such ups and downs throughout a year that the division games at least need some sort of intentional spreading out. not to defend them, but I think we swept the dodgers last year solely because we played all six games in such a tight time period. we were hot, they were cold(or just taking it easy until the playoffs) 5 division games played by mid May is ridiculous
