  1. I honestly don't know what the best approach should be for Milwaukee. I guess the first thing to do is go to Giannis and present him for a vision for the future - one where he is part of it and he is going to win. That'll be hard, but they have to try. I mean, is bringing back Portis and Porter enough? Or Trent? What about Lopez or some other replacement? We have some financial flexibility - but not a ton. It seems like it's going to be hard to fashion a team that looks like a contender. And what about beyond next season? Is getting a 37-year old Dame back a game changer? It's not like we have a bunch of great draft picks available to us. Like I said, we have to try.
  2. I doubt Dallas is willing to deal the top pick, but you have to ask. I mean, the Mavs are built to win now. Kyrie and AD are older. And I'm not sure of the mix there with Davis and Giannis - who plays where? But like I said, you have to ask. Flagg would be a huge addition to any team.
  3. Yeah, something like this seems reasonable. Probably a guy or two as well - more for salary balancing. As you say, that is if Giannis says he wants to go.
  4. It will be interesting to see who ends up with the top pick in the draft (aka Cooper Flagg). A team with that pick might be interested in a Giannis trade - but it really depends on the team. Flagg would give the Bucks someone to build around going forward.
  5. Well, Dame's injury sure is harsh. The average NBA player takes 10 months to recover from an ACL injury. Could it be earlier? Sure, but no promises. And it could be a full year or more. Bucks looks a bit rough for 2025-26 season. I'm guessing Portis doesn't pick up his option. Same with Porter. Both can probably get more as free agents. Connaughton will return (dude isn't going to get $9m on the open market). Lopez, Prince and Trent are a FAs. Giannis, Kuzma, and a bunch of lesser guys (Rollins, Green, Jackson, Smith, Livingstone, Pat C.) looks pretty mediocre. They are under the cap by $15-16m or so. But they only have seven guys under contract (not counting Lilliard's spot). If they bring back Portis and Lopez that would eat up any cap room. And you'd - again - have a bunch of minimum salary guys. I guess the big question is does Giannis want to come back with that? I'm guessing the club will go to him and present a vision of some sort - and see if he wants to be a part of it. What that vision is - who knows. With all the swaps and trades the past years, the Bucks have little incentive to tank. Perhaps offer him a 'soft' sort of reboot. Let the old guard go. Portis, Lopez, everyone. Add a player or two at lower costs who can help - perhaps take some risks with who those guys are. Roll the dice. It probably means a minimum of one year of mediocrity - but it could be more. Who knows. Without high picks, it's hard to improve. Otherwise, Giannis may just say, "Do what's best for the club" or "Yes, deal me." They then get a list of teams he likes, and start the process of looking. That would be hard to hear - but I'd understand it for both parties. Will be an interesting off season.
  6. I wanted Sawyer there. Figures Pittsburgh would take him right before us. Oh well. Getting some depth on the line is important.
  7. I'm thinking they have to address defense depth: 4th round prospects: Edge: Jack Sawyer, Barryn Swinson DT: Joshua Farmer, Ty Hamilton, Ty Robinson LB: Chris Paul Jr., Danny Stutsman, Smaal Mondon Jr. CB: Quincy Riley Probably missed someone in there. There's some nice OL still available - so wouldn't be shocked we grab another if someone falls.
  8. Sanders is eating a lot of humble pie today. Wow.
  9. The corners I liked both went off the board just before us. Sigh.
  10. I don’t mind Belton, but it seems like we picked him a round early. I would have liked a corner or d-lineman. Oh well.
  11. People must really be worrried about Green’s background.
  12. A lot of buzz has the Packers looking at Burch - which makes a lot of sense. Good all around player who fits a need - and a good chance he'll be there. Of course, you never know who will fall.
  13. I'm guessing the team eyes up a DL or a CB in round 2. Corners include Johnson, Morrison, Revel, Amos, Azareye'h Thomas, DL includes a bunch of edge types. Quite a few of those available (Ezeiruaku, Tuimoloau, Landon Jackson, Jack Sayer, Courton). Jordan Burch probably offers a bit of a safer pick - a guy who can play inside if needed, and plays the run well. Maybe not the pass rush threat as some of the others guys. At DT I like Shemer Turner. I think a lot of upside - but also some question marks (although most guys have question marks). Darius Alexander is another interior guy. Personally, I am interested in a DT more than an edge guy - but whatever works and whoever is there is fine. A few non DL/CB I'd take include LB Carson Schwesinger. And I'd have no problem grabbing another WR - such as Burden or Higgins - if available. And there's nothing wrong with adding an OL - but I think the club saves that for later. For round three, the club can take the same path - CB and DL. Maybe even OL. Of course, the list grows for this round. Joshua Farmer, TJ Sanders, Ty Hamilton - for instance. I doubt WR Jack Bech lasts to the 3rd, but I'd snag him if he was there. Should be fun. I just hope we don't reach - like we did with Ty'Ron Hopper. I still don't get that pick. But whatever.
  14. I read some teams had some health concerns about Johnson. That might be a reason for his drop.
  15. Golden. Nice.
  16. Yeah, they might be trying to work something.
  17. Awesome idea!
  18. He’s be good to have.
  19. Yep. I think Rodgers didn’t want a guy like sanders waiting on the roster. We will see if they grab someone in round 2
  20. Johnson or Golden?
  21. Harmon didnt quite make it to the packers. I thought that would be our guy.
  22. I can’t believe Desmond Howard is 54. Dude looks 20 younger.
  23. Trading down is always a neat idea. Unfortunately, I've heard quite a few teams want to trade down. A lot of people think the 12-35 or so range of players is fairly interchangeable - so people are content to stay put or try and move down. I'm guessing you'll see some deals while on the clock - as teams see a guy they really want and try and jump up a bit.
  24. I don't remember what year it was, but it would have probably been around 1990. My friend came over to watch the draft with me. We wrote out predictions. Now, April is usually not that warm - but that day it was friggin' hot in Madison. So my buddy brought over a bottle of vodka and some lemonade. Proceeded to get drunk and watch the draft - laughing our ass off at Paul Zimmerman who couldn't get any pick right and couldn't believe most of the selections. Good times.
  25. Here are predictions for today: Wild Idea: Packers trade up to pick Tetairoa McMillan. Probably cost our 1st and 2nd round picks - to jump over Dallas. Very unlikely, but that's why it is a wild idea. 1st round: DT Derrick Harmon or CB Will Johnson. Dark horse pick: OL Grey Zabel. Matthew Golden would work, but I bet he's gone.
